I Was at the Debate

I've never felt more sick to my stomach. What a debacle and sham. When Dr. Paul spoke they split the screen with McCain to get the crowd laughing at his mugging and make it look like they were laughing at Dr. Paul. They didn't do that to anyone else.
The questions that they asked and the disrespect Hume showed all made me want to scream at the top of my lungs.
I will never watch FAUX again. I pray RP is going to ask for a recount in NH. Why not? That would force them to focus on you and might just expose them all as frauds.

Civil Disobedience...

Just like it was obvious during the civil rights movement that hosing down and having dogs attack the protesters were wrong, it'll be obvious that the treatment of Ron Paul is not right. Acting out, as justified as it may seem, will not help the revolution. Again, the civil rights movement succeeded because the injustice became obvious.

Carl Cameron

These Fox Debates seriously look like political theatre representing the Propaganda wing of the Third Reich.

Look at the video and tell me that Carl Cameron would not be perfect to play a Nazi Sergeant Major standing guard leaning on a Post of a bobbed wire fence with the Nazi Uniform and related hat smoking a cigarette speaking guttural German. The lead moderator is a Nazi General.

Nothing against Germany Folks, but I can't visualize anything else when I see Carl Cameron asking those questions. Kinda Scary.

I completely

I completely agree. What kind of news is that? All they do is make the debates a big spectacle. It's much less a debate than a piece of entertainment. Garbage, pure garbage.

Hi, I like Macs and Ron Paul.

"make fun, buddy."

I am now convinced that Ron Paul is the FAVORITE to become President, even if it means that 100 million people will be writing him in. We need to keep working hard, as Ron and the message keep winning people over.

Could you give us the crowd reaction to Ron Paul ?

Could you give us the crowd reaction to the electabilty question ?
Do you think the crowd was swayed by Ron Paul during the debate ?

I think the people who payed

I think the people who payed to get in there were all hard core supporters of their candidate and nothing said is going to sway any of them. It's the people in tv land that haven't decided yet who are important.

Thanks

Who was the guy with the big ears

My husband played this out, he's so funny:
Droopy face, "Will you tell the 9-11 truthers to stop their support?"

That Was Carl Cameron. (Campaign Carl, as Fox calls him)
Romney was schmoozing with him in another part of the debate.

I think the split-screen ploy failed..At least it did on TV

To me, and others (some not RP supporters), it put forth the effect that Ron was schooling them on Reality..especially the McCain, and Huckbee splits.

especially

when Ron was talking about McCain's plan to commit our nation to 100 more years of war and McCain just shrugged his shoulders like who cares.

It doesn't matter

It doesn't matter what they think. Spending the rest of the campaign reacting to Fox or Laura Ingraham or LImbaugh would, to me, be the stupidest thing we can do. The Matrix analogy people keep using here is perfect. It will probably take rank-and-file Republicans years to see how corrupt and propagandic Fox is.

All the jeering, sniggering, ridicule cannot make someone look bad anyway. Dr. Paul stands there with perfect dignity and answers calmly and it slides right off him. You can try really hard to slander someone but usually who they are speaks louder. That's why the laughter is diminishing imo.

blowback

McCain should be considering the blowback aspect since, down the road-- if he's successful, offended Ron Paul supporters will admire him less.

McCain and Huckabee are just GOP "diversions"

McCain and Huckabee Are Just GOP Diversions

McCain and Huckabee are just GOP "diversions" to make it LOOK like there is a real race going on in the GOP. Why do you think Romney, Giuliani, and, yes, even Thompson, were so nonchalant and blase' about Iowa, New Hampshire, and even South Carolina??

For the GOP, the Presidential Primary process does not really start until Tsunami Tuesday on February 5th. All debates and primaries prior to that are just "practice" and "test runs" for Giuliani, Romney and Thompson. The REAL primaries are those where the winners gain most of the delegates, which is all that matters at the GOP Convention in September. And, unbeknown to most Republican-leaning Americans and independents, these primaries are CLOSED to all but those who registered Republican on or before the deadline.

In independent New Hampshire, you could walk into the polling place, up to the last minute, and make your decision as to which party's primary you wanted to vote in. However, in a "closed" primary, independent voters, those who did not register in the Republican Party by the deadline, will not be given a Republican ballot. And the deadlines for registration are weeks, or even months, before the primary date.

Many of these deadlines are done and gone, and some, like California, are coming up soon. For instance, California's deadline, with the largest number of delegates, is January 21. However, this is the first time the California Republican Presidential Primary has been a "closed" primary, and most Californians are not even aware of the new "rules". (The Dems opted to keep their Primary "open", and the Regular Primary for both parties in June is still "open".)

This decision was made over a year ago, before Ron Paul was even on the radar, specifically to exclude independents like McCain, who relied in the past on the independent voters who declined to state a party. After 2004, the CA GOP lost many, many voters who, although conservative and Republican-leaning, could no longer tolerate Bush and the neocons. (I am one of those who "left" the Republican Party in 2004.)

In addition, in California (and I suspect in other states) these "new rules" were deliberately not advertised, written about, or made public. And, in California, the strategy has worked. In fact, the only press that this issue has received has done more to encourage voters to become "declined to state", than to register Republican.

This is why Giuliani and Romney are NOT worried about McCain, Ron Paul, or Huckabee in Florida, California, New York, or most of the other 22 Tsunami states. They KNOW that, come February 5th, those independents and those who are from other parties, will NOT be able to vote in the Republican Primary, thus eliminating votes for McCain, Ron Paul, and Huckabee.

I believe the establishment GOP, allowed, and even encouraged, Huckabee's "win" in Iowa, and front-runner status in New Hampshire. Pastor Huck gathered the alienated Christian Right into the GOP sheepfold, and, when he is eliminated in the more "secular" states, he will instruct his sheep to transfer their allegience to the selected GOP candidate.

McCain, whose so-called "comeback" was gained by the support of the all important independents who declined to state a party, will be shut out of the closed primaries on Feb 5th. Thompson, who was always a "reluctant" candidate because he supported his good friend McCain. He was never intended to get the nomination, but will make a great Vice President on a Romney or Giuliani ticket, and therefore will get McCain's support at the Convention and in the General Election.

The 2008 Presidential Election is a chess match, not a game of checkers, and the GOP establishment is NOT in disarray as some of the pundits think. They put this KarlRovian strategy into play two years ago when California first moved its Presidential Primary to February.

So, how does this affect Ron Paul? I honestly do not know! And, at this point, until February 5th, we will not know how successful the campaign and the Meetup groups have been in getting those independents registered as Republicans, and getting Dems, Greens, etc switched to Republican to vote for Ron Paul. We can only hope and pray that Ron Paul and his strategists are as smart as we think they are.

Please post this on Ron Paul Forums....

I wanted to write something like this for a long time but never got to it....I wanted to stress Romney and Guiliani as the choice of the establishment.....with California and Florida being won respectively....where Ron came in was unclear to me aswell b/c the establishment is worried.....personally the difference for Ron would be us the grass root and how many we convert before the deadline.....

PLEASE POST THIS IN RON PAUL FORUMS

thanks again

they were dropping the

they were dropping the volume on his ear piece too.

I noticed that too.

I've seen Ron speak on TV and at public forums many many times. The only times I have seen him not be able to hear is on Fox.

I have a technical question. When they do those debates do they use ear pieces or just a speaker system?

It would be easy to play the full volume audio over the TV while regulating what Ron would hear. If they use ear pieces it would be cool if somone could put a recording device in line to record what goes through the ear piece. That way you could catch them in the act.

Stock Dump

My wife and I had our annual meeting in Houston yesterday with our financial guy, and I signed the forms to dump all holdings in News Corp (NWS). I don't know how much good that will do, but so help me God I will never support that company again.

And I'm writing letters to their advertisers, letting them know that the stink rubs off on them, too.

WSJ

I think Murdoch/Newscorp. will close on their purchase of the WSJ soon. I need call an make sure my subsription does not renew. Unfortunately I renewed in Oct. and I don't think I get my money back.

Finallly got around to stoping Neil Cavuto's show from recording on my Tivo thing.

In addition to boycotting sponsors, we need to get a list of products to buy in lieu of Fox sponsors.

America: Freedom to Fascism

I think the best tool we have when we go door-to-door is the DVD
"America: Freeedom to Fascism" it speaks for it's self. We should ask them to see the video before they make a decison. People need to see things in black and white before they believe it.

I don't see why with all the resources we have, and all our people all over the country that we can't crank out at least 1 million copies of this video. Imagine how CRAZY the establishment would be when they are exposed and people start to wake up. This should be a priority since Super Tuesday is coming up fast. We don't have much time.
