Rasmussen Poll: 46% Will Be Voting For Lesser of Two Evils This Presidential Election
Submitted by Loch Doubt on Tue, 07/31/2012 - 18:21Rasmussen has demonstrated that a significant part of the electorate dislikes their options. We need to let them know that the nominee does not have to be Romney.

I read the title and
I read the title and translated that as "54% will be voting for Ron Paul"
You May Yet Be Correct
As much as I wish that was the case, it still can be.

How can you tell
which is the lesser evil? Both Rombama and Obama are pretty equal to me.
I suspect . . .
I am not privy to the full results of this survey; but I would guess that (not counting independents) the “Lesser of Two Evils” voters are at least 2 to 1 Republican.
If anybody is a Rasmussen Premium subscriber I would love to know.

I Find It Interesting That You Do Not Mention Ron Paul as a
Choice. No thank you to your poll. We have a chip-in for 3 national polls this month. Below is the chip-in and as of now we have the first poll funded!!! To be published as soon as possible per James Rushing who started the post.

I apologize in advance if this comes across as negative.
(1) The majority of the public dismisses Ron Paul and any ‘Ron Paul Propaganda’. Given that this survey makes no mention of Ron Paul, it would be a lie to consider this survey, let alone dismiss it as, ‘Ron Paul Propaganda’.
(2) No new Republican candidate is getting in this race. At least not until (if) Romney is defeated on the first ballot. Defeating Romney equals nominating Ron Paul.
(3) “This survey would be explicitly devoid of any mention of Ron Paul so as to preclude validity of the suggestion that this is pro-Ron Paul ‘propaganda’. The first two questions are largely irrelevant. Their purpose is primarily to disarm blind solidarity; i.e. get the respondent to answer question four more truthfully. Question three may demonstrate that one or more candidate is preferred over Romney, and otherwise premise question four with context.” is well established here: http://www.dailypaul.com/245437#comment-2631339, as is “it is easier to convince somebody to not vote for Romney than it is to convince somebody to not vote for Romney AND vote for Paul. This survey will help accomplish the former; the Paul v Obama survey will help accomplish the latter. We should not forfeit an opportunity to accomplish the former just because we cannot also accomplish the latter. Once Romney is defeated on the first ballot the Convention is Paul’s.”
(4) JamesRushing’s poll project was just an idea until I informed him via email that he can commission a poll for $2,500 from Pulse.
(5) I was fully supporting this project before you knew about it, and fully support it now. With that said, just another Paul v Obama poll in a Primary that is already decided is meaningless unless the delegates become convinced that the Primary is not (or that the electorate wants it to be alternately) decided.
Every bit of ammunition is needed.

You Make Some Good Points, However, I Went Negative Because
your post was days after James Rushing's post and chip-in to fund his idea for 3 national polls. The cost of your poll is more expensive as well. I am for what is in the best interest of getting Ron Paul the nomination including elected as President. Thank you for your reply and may the best ideas go forward.

Extrapolations
It may not be. A 10 question survey is $3,500. Add on questions are $500 per. A 5 question survey is not listed, but 5 add ons (from nothing) is $2,500, which may or may not be an option.
If my supposition (that the “Lesser of Two Evils” voters are at least 2 to 1 Republican) is approximately correct then extrapolating (with very crude math) that is 30% of the total electorate (crudely assuming 50/50 Democrat to Republican) would be 60% of Republicans consider Romney “evil”. Let us dial this back to 50% to account for independents. Then suppose that there are respondents that although they do not consider Romney “evil” would be open to a nominee other than Romney.
Extrapolating from this survey it is likely that more Republicans (greater than 50%) want somebody other than Romney than want Romney. We can prove this by commissioning aforementioned survey. Such results could not only easily go viral, but be unignorable by the MSM. Finally they would demonstrate to delegates that nominating Romney would be going against popular will.
