Music too loud.
"Take hold of the future or the future will take hold of you." -- Patrick Dixon
I have had a vision. I imagine I'm at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, and they're about to play a video message from former President George W. Bush to the delegates, and of course it will be carried on a live feed on the TV networks.
But instead of a message from Bush, THIS clip plays, and the guy running the video can't or won't shut it off . . .

"Were you converted by a harsh truth teller who thought of you as cattle? Doubt it"
The answer is: Absolutely Yes!
Spooner's No Treason did it for me. We were all born as cows trained to worship the state god. And only the hardest medicine cures this condition.
Ron Paul may not use the harsh contemptuous language of Rose or Spooner, but his content contains the same strong medicine and that's why Benton and Olson cringe whenever he opens his mouth and why their main strategy was to keep him from ever delving into the details of his program for transitioning us to a free society. Virtually every Libertarian Party campaign for the last 40 years did the same thing: Hide the full brilliance of our ideas under a bushel and pretend to be warmed over Republicans--lest we frighten the cattle.
Spooner from No Treason:
The ostensible supporters of the Constitution, like the ostensible supporters of most other governments, are made up of three classes, viz.:
1. Knaves, a numerous and active class, who see in the government an instrument which they can use for their own aggrandizement or wealth.
2. Dupes --- a large class, no [*12] doubt --- each of whom, because he is allowed one voice out of millions in deciding what he may do with his own person and his own property, and because he is permitted to have the same voice in robbing, enslaving, and murdering others, that others have in robbing, enslaving, and murdering himself, is stupid enough to imagine that he is a "free man," a "sovereign"; that this is "a free government"; "a government of equal rights," "the best government on earth," and such like absurdities.
3. A class who have some appreciation of the evils of government, but either do not see how to get rid of them, or do not choose to so far sacrifice their private interests as to give themselves seriously and earnestly to the work of making a change.

I made a blog out of it and ordered the book. Great share and I couldn't express myself and sum my own thoughts and feelings up any better than this. Fabulous. Thanks.

For my LDS compadre's here on DP .... show this to your LDS friends who don't quite "get it" and ask them to critically think about the concepts presented in tandem with D&C 121:39-42.
If they show indifference, you can then know they are as Larken says: blind because they WILL NOT see. If they ask you questions and are willing to have further dialog, then you may be able to influence them in the long run.
Very good video .....
Will keep that one handy
No one can find a safe way out if society is sweeping towards destruction. Everyone,in his own interests, must thrust himself vigorously into the intellectual battle. None can stand aside with unconcern; the interests of everyone hang on the result. - LvM
This is an awesome video! I have forwarded it to some folks who need to see it, let the chips fall!
I was thinking about arranging a "Truth Fest" documentary film festival for my friends and their friends. This one's going on the playlist. BBQ, beer, and truth---mmmm maybe no beer.
I'm half-tempted to share this on Facebook, but I'm afraid of all the people I would push away instead of enlighten.
It is easy to to stand on a street and yell your convictions to the world, but to talk to your friends and family about them takes true courage.

Wow! You rock, Larkin Rose!
Surprised to see the negative comments! I love this video, it puts together every thought I have in such a great way! Nothing like some hardcore full on truth!
Do you ever find yourself alone, perhaps in the car, saying all the things you "wish" you'd have said to some statest earlier? To me, that's what this video is. All the crap Id love to say to some of the mindless collectivists, regurgitating the crap they heard on corporate whore news the night before during debaits.
I wouldn't actually say it, any more than I would refer them to watch this video. It would be counter-productive. The collectivist would become angry, and reason(if any exists) would be replaced with emotion. If a person could be woken up with hard-hitting self reflection like this, chances are they'd already be awake, or are a very rare sort of individual whose been living in a cave for the last 5 years. A message, no matter how good, if delivered without diplomacy will do harm.
That said, it sure was fun to listen to. The other day some lady was in my shop. She saw I was wearing a RP shirt and asked if id be voting for him. I said you bet, and we began dissing on Romney. But then she said she was a Obama supporter... this after going on about how much she hates war and Bush. I asked if she was at all dissapointed by Obama's foriegn policy to which she replied: "You can't convert me, I didn't want to have some deep conversation, and anyway; I'm a feminist, and Ron Paul is a sexist!" I stood blinking for a moment at the amazing and utter ignorance of her words. Then I began to point out that it was impossible to be racist and sexest when you're an individualist and believe in equal rights and laws for "individuals" (at least institutionally) but she was already walking out repeating: "He's a Sexest!" angrily.
Now this was me asking a politly framed question with as much diplomacy as I could fit in. I know it wouldn't do any good, but this is the sort mind-numbingly stupid sheeple I would love to strap into a chair and play this Larken Rose bit for. "Yes, YOU are the crowd of idiots who let slavery happen and who cheered for Hitler."
p.s. I don't need a lesson that strapping anyone to a chair against their will is a violation of their rights. I know. It was a joke.
That's what we need to know!! Where. Are. The. So.lu.tions??????? No solutions, Pal? This is USELESS without some solutions!! Hyperbolic! Rhetorical Nonsenses! Understand?
I understand personal freedom. I understand there're problems in society. I understand 'we have to give up some freedoms to make society work-like speed limits' (good one). I understand your argument. I understand! But where are the SOLUTIONS!????
[Sorry. Just got back from reading the comments on YouTube. But I'm back now, on DP, feeling a lot saner already.]
"If you want something you've never had before, you have to do something you've never done before." Debra Medina
You say "I understand personal freedom." and one sentence later you say "I understand 'we have to give up some freedoms to make society work..."
You clearly DO NOT understand personal freedom. YOU can give up whatever rights YOU want to FOR YOURSELF to whomever YOU choose. YOU, however, have absolutely no right to force anyone else to give up any of their rights.
Society can and will only function as it should when there's not a bully sanctioned by the majority enforcing the bully's rules upon everyone.
down a few more comments, none. I didn't have a chance to edit my original comment with these nonsensical remarks I got from YT.
I tried to be funny about 'em and, as you can see, mission failed! Ha.
I came across the comment and posted my reply before scrolling further down. It is amusing sometimes to see the contradictions some people still believe, isn't it? I'm guilty of having had similar beliefs in the past. I used to have epic arguments here with a member called DaveMac when I still worshipped the state. I look back now at the positions I tried to defend then and can't imagine how I didn't see those contradictions sooner. Realizing the truth doesn't solve the problems, but it certainly makes the solution clear. Education is the key.
The solution is as simple as every word he says. Live and let live and stop trying to control people. Eliminate the factions like the central banks and fractional reserve lending/banking, and the vast majority of the special interests, corruption and political BS is immediately reduced to a fraction of what it's pervasive impact on our world is presently. Only people who benefit from enslaving others and making profit from wars really want people dead. Just so many people do not understand their daily actions contribute to almost all the problems in the world and just turn their heads. This is 20 minutes of hard core truth that says it all.
I agree with you, for pete's sake. Like I said BELOW, I didn't have time to edit my remarks with a chuckle, LOL, Ah-Ha, HaHaHa, etc. Those initial remarks are from YT, not me.
By the time I realized I had been too cryptic, it was too late. Just keep reading.
to edit my comment above with a LOL, HaHaHa, etc. Consequently some are taking my remarks as my own. They are not. They are from the asleep at the wheel sheeple on YT who were obviously rudely awakened.
Some are even advocating we take time to debate Larsen's statements in order to come up with...yep...solutions.
I had to laugh. Why debate 3 to 4000 yrs. of human nature and history that's repeating itself? These are the kind of people who think they are different from the slave, Aesop-550 B.C. Why? Because they have an iPhone.
Aaaah Ha Ha. There, I said it.
that is the solution, get rid of the octopus, some call it the squid with tentacles, it has one eye, can be seen on top of the pyramid.. I edited my post below - to add what I felt was missing, but it was there = the mention of the devil, the enemy, the liar, at times residing in the head of the usurious banksters..
Larken did not miss the target, now you & us can go chase it = out.
