Cruz beats Dewhurst

Texas' drift toward the Tea Party brand of GOP conservatism continued Tuesday when lawyer Ted Cruz scored a surprisingly easy win over David Dewhurst in the Republican primary runoff for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Cruz once was considered a long shot to take down well-heeled Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst – the favorite of the party establishment and Hutchison's heir apparent. But he steadily gained in the polls during their bare-knuckles campaign brawl, and his lead opened up as soon as the earliest returns were posted. By 8:30 p.m. the Associated Press had named Cruz the winner, and within an hour Dewhurst called Cruz to concede.

"Wow! We did it!," Ted Cruz told a jam-packed crowd of supporters at the J.W. Marriott Hotel near the Galleria. He reminded them that when he started his campaign, he was largely unknown. "This is a victory for the grassroots, We should take it as...

Another stellar article about it here:

Ted Cruz Scores Ron Paul a Win in Texas Senate Primary
By W. E. Messamore on 08/01/2012

"Texas lawyer and Tea Party candidate, Ted Cruz, scored an easy and unexpected victory in Tuesday’s Republican primary runoff election against the party-anointed, establishment candidate, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst.

As the Houston Chronicle reports:

“Cruz once was considered a long shot to take down well-heeled Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst – the favorite of the party establishment and Hutchison’s heir apparent. But he steadily gained in the polls during their bare-knuckles campaign brawl, and his lead opened up as soon as the earliest returns were posted. By 8:30 p.m. the Associated Press had named Cruz the winner, and within an hour Dewhurst called Cruz to concede.”

That's cause Dewhurst is an adoptive son of a Nazi mass-murderer

That's cause Dewhurst is an "adoptive son" of a Nazi mass-murderer, having learned how to apply effective torture from Klaus Barbie, the Butcher of Lyon.

The two met in Bolivia in the early 80s, when young Dewhurst was a CIA subaltern and Barbie was a mercenary charged with designing the overthrow of the leftist Bolivian government with CIA help.

Oh, how much fun the two of them had at the clubs in LaPaz, drinking the night away, the young Dewhurst drinking in the fatherly Klaus' stories from his time as HSSPF in Lyon, hunting down French resistance couriers and personally torturing out their spies and contacts!

How it must've touched Dewhurst very deeply when his all-but-adoptive father was arrested and extradited to France to face trial for war crimes.

He was probably as emotional as he was last evening, when he had to concede to Cruz.

Awww!

"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"

Not a Dewhurst fan, but where did you get this info?

I've never heard THIS dirt on him...or are you joking and being sarcastic?

I'm ashamed to say Alex Jones

I'm ashamed to say Alex Jones, who was ranting about Dewhurst back when Rick Perry was running for President and Jones was going on about Dewhurst being the satanic power behind Perry's throne.

A guest was on to explain Dewhurst's role as a CIA operative when he was stationed in Bolivia at the time of the coup.

Klaus Barbie was hired by conspirators surrounding General Meza to organise the coup, and according to this guest, Dewhurst was liason between the mercenraries and the CIA. He said Barbie and Dewhurst were frequently spotted together in certain canteens.

Whenever he's sked about his role in the bloody Bolivian coup of 1980, and especially rumors of his friendship with Klaus Barbie, Dewhurst always answers,

"I never discuss CIA business."

"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"

And Cruz thanked everyone except Ron Paul

On his twitter feed he thanked Jim DeMint, Sarah Palin and Rick Santorum, but did not thank the man who made his win possible.

You missed this? Check your glasses.

"Cruz praised God – "To Him be the glory" – and Martin Luther King Jr., and thanked a long list that included Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Ron and Rand Paul, Martin Luther King Jr. and even Dewhurst."
