A farmer who was arrested last month expressed his displeasure Thursday afternoon in Newport by driving a heavy tractor over seven police vehicles owned by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, authorities said.

Roger Pion, 34, has been taken into custody, according to the Sheriff’s Department and Newport City Police.

“It’s more than half our fleet. We have 11 cars,” Chief Deputy Sheriff Phil Brooks told the Burlington Free Press.

NEWPORT, Vt. - A Vermont-style vendetta in the Northeast Kingdom: A man who was allegedly angry about minor criminal charges crushed multiple police cruisers with a farm tractor.

The Orleans County Sheriff's Department lost more than half its fleet of cruisers.

It happened at about 12:40 p.m. Thursday. Deputies didn't hear anything inside the barracks on the Derby Road in Newport. They found out from a 911 caller who told them all their cruisers were being run over by a tractor. When they went outside, the tractor was already gone.

Vermont State Police, Border Patrol, Newport City Police and the Orleans County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene. Police say they caught up with Roger Pion, 34, of Newport, about 1.5 miles down the road near the Passumpsic Savings Bank. They say Pion then took off on foot, but police were able to catch him. He was arrested and held on bail.

Well actually, it would

Well actually, it would technically be more than him that owned it if you want to argue along these lines. I mean, if you and another person both own a tv, dont you think one of you would be upset if the other destroyed it? The taxpayers will now have to foot the bill to replace the cars.

He should have dumped a ton of manuer all over them and in front of the police station instead.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.
