Romney Demanded to See Ted Kennedy's Tax Returns

During his losing Senate run against Ted Kennedy Romney demanded that Ted Kennedy provide his tax returns on the basis of the public's right to know:

"It's time the biggest-taxing senator in Washington shows the people of Massachusetts how much he pays in taxes," Romney said in April of 1994, according to a report in the Boston Globe.

How about the Fed Tax Returns? IRS Tax Returns? "Who watches..."

Latin Quotations From the Satires of Juvenal Sayings Coined by Ancient Rome's Greatest Satiric Poet. "Who watches the watchers?" ... "Who guards the guards?" ... "Who rules the rulers?"

Oh we worry. Guards tell us, "Scotland Yard always gets its man."

Oh bother. The FBI motto is: “Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity.”

Scotland Yard A Brief History of Scotland Yard Investigating London's famous police force and some of its most infamous cases
By Jess Blumberg. Smithsonian.com, September 28, 2007.

How did Scotland Yard get its name? Why doesn't it still belong to the King of Scotland? Why is it in London? Did English police take over Scotland's yard?

Circa 900 AD: To quell hostilities between England & Scotland, the English gave the Scottish king land in London with the provision that he build a castle on it and live there for a few months every year.

Circa 1600 AD: Seven centuries later, the two nations united under one king. The Scottish land in London returned to English ownership.

In 1829, the London police made it their home. By then the land & castle was known as Scotland Yard.

Present: Scotland Yard is often used as a name for the British Metropolitan Police. At times, Scotland Yard is thought to run the entire United Kingdom police-force.

FBI & Its Mission

"As a national security organization, the mission of the FBI is to protect and defend the United States against terrorist and foreign intelligence threats, to uphold and enforce the criminal laws of the United States, and to provide leadership and criminal justice services to federal, state, municipal, and international agencies and partners."

FBI ~ Highest priority: "Protect the United States from terrorist attacks." ... in their own words & deeds.

Romney's Tax Returns will run and run

He has no way out.

Presumably there is something deeply embarrassing in them, if not downright illegal, otherwise he would have released them before now and not gone through this grief.

If Romney does not release them, it will just run and run, damaging him more and more all the time.

If Romney does release them, he will appear weak - at the mercy of the Press and the Dems, plus whatever is embarrassing in them will come out.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."
