Ron vs. Obama? Ron vs. McCain? Need talking points.

I have been so single-focused on Ron that I haven't really paid attention to the other candidates.

I was asked at our farmer's market here in San Luis Obispo how he is different from McCain (not too tough a question) and also, how is he different from Obama.

I had some basic points (Iraq, Health Care), but I didn't really have the depth the people were asking.

We have to remember that the race just started on January 3rd. People are JUST NOW starting to pay attention, even though we have for months. This means they are starting to ask actual questions. And I need to have REAL answers.

PS. Ron Paul 2008

PPS. Obviously, I can't give people a lecture about how Ron isn't CFR, and they are, cause that doesn't do anyone any good.

The term

CFR sock puppet fits them both.

After all these debates, RP hasn't mentioned the CFR once. Of course, he does mention the military-industrial complex

It's the economy

Nowadays I just hammaer on fiscal and monetary policy because the economy is looming as a huge problem and Dr. Paul is the ONLY candidate with answers.

Try this:

We are $9 trillion dollars in debt, mostly to foreign countries.

We are borrowing more at the rate of almost $3 billion a day

Our financial institutions are failing

The dollar has lost almost 30% of its value since 2001 and real inflation is running at 10%

Home foreclosures are higher now than they have been since the great depression.

The Head of the General Accounting Office says that obligations under medicare and social security WILL bankrupt the country in a few years.

Our economic problems are by far the greatest threat we face now and Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate even discussing these issues. Ron Paul is the only candidate with the guts to face these problems and present the tough solutions.

What are McCain's answers? None. What are Obama's answers? None. What more is there to talk about?

On McCain: Do you want a president that thinks Al Queda is a country???

McCain slurs Arab nations at debate

http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-debatetrans11jan1...

PAUL: So whether there are peace agreements over there, I mean, for instance, if we would stop all aid to over there, we would stop three times as much aid as Israel gets through the Arab nations.

Why do we arm the Arab nations and they're the enemies of Israel? But we continue to do that. So why don't we trade with everybody and talk with them, and there's a greater incentive to work these problems out.

[Paul endorses trading and talking with Arab nations…]

MCCAIN: Could I just make a comment? I'm not interested in trading with Al Qaida. All they want to trade is burkas. I don't want to travel with them. They like one-way tickets.

(LAUGHTER)

(APPLAUSE)

McCain slurs all Arab nations by calling them Al Qaida and saying "All they want to
trade is burkas." South Carolina Republicans laugh and applaud McCain's slur.
How sad.

McCain is no 'sheriff'

The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.

Obama Supports the Patriot Act

Here you go, a link to to the vote of the barely changed version of the Patriot Act passed in early 2006.

Obama

I think you acknowledge that Obama is a breath of fresh air. He is an outsider like Kennedy or Carter. The problem is that his solutions will not help and will only hurt...of course we can only guess at what those big government solutions may be because he speaks in platitudes.

Here is the calculus for people sympathetic for both. An Obama v. Paul scenerio would be the heathiest for America. The military industrial complex will not have a candidate. The most important thing is to make sure Republicans do not nominate a war mongering fascist.

A scale tipping caution regarding supporting Obama is that he has hedged on the war and has not called for a real withdrawal. Unless he gets bolder we risk more of the same. Vote for boldness. Vote for Paul.
