I think Paul Just Lost Texas- District Court just ruled against Dennis K.

Have you heard the US District Court Ruling in Texas, Dennis K. is not allowed on the ballot in Texas because he will not sign a pledge to support the nominee of his party.

It said this is the power of the political parties.....not specified just Democrates.

If I'm reading this correctly, Paul is out in Texas.

You know this ruling just came from a crooked judge who is part of all of this crap to keep Paul out of the race.

I hope Dr. Paul see's this because if this rolls from state to state he will have to run on the Constitution ticket because bloomberg will be on the independet.

The fracturing we're seeing is being done on purpose.....oh, you know that.

What about the GOP

Where does it say that the GOP are trying this? On the Texas GOP website, it shows Ron Paul has already submitted an application - http://www.texasgop.org/site/DocServer/1-7-08_name.pdf?docID...

Is this legal?

Freedom of speech / expression. You can't force someone to sign a pledge like that.
As for Bloomberg, I live in NY, and today in Newsday it has the results of the polls he did: In NYC 39% of residents said he would NOT be a good president. Even better, 58% said the would definitely NOT vote for him! So, Thank God, NYC has come to its senses!!!!!!

Yes it is legal

Since the Democrat party (as well as the Republican) is a private organization, and can write whatever bylaws it wants.
No party is part of the government, they are all private special interest groups.

Are we really

spreading this brand of 'democracy' around the world by the barrell of a gun? Some example of a 'free' society.

We must hang together, or surely we will hang separately

RP will

be on the ballot in TX. The Democrats are the only party that instituted that pledge.

http://blogs.chron.com/texaspolitics/archives/2008/01/kucini...

The Republicans have no such pledge here.

We are a sore loser state though, so there would have to be a fight to get him on the general election ballot as an independent. He can, however, run for his House seat while still running for the POTUS nomination under TX law...

There's always hope

I've figured out that many bad/strange things happen for a reason. Texas is also a "sore-loser" state, I believe, and that means he couldn't be on the ballot as an independant, Libertarian, or anything else IF he were to lose in the Texas election. However not being able to lose would ensure that Dr. Paul got on the ballot right?

I'm looking at the shiny side of the coin here and in no way wish that Ron Paul doesn't wipe the mat up with the other candidates. But sometimes when I'm cussing the person driving slowly in front of me, along comes a State Trooper out of nowhere and makes me feel like a royal jerk....Know what I mean?

Are you sure?

Again, this does NOT sound legal. If the Libertarian Party was to nominate him, I don't think Texas can legally keep him off the ballot, unless there is no Libertarian line on the ballot to begin with. However, if there was a Lib. line, then they cannot change that now.

Hmmmm

That's a thinker...I'm sure on the "sore loser" status of Texas. But running as a Libertarian or anything else, not sure. But you would think they would have that covered, the "sore loser" obviously wouldn't be running under their own banner if they hadn't lost..right.

The sad thing is....

This would only work on an honorable man!

and we call America a

and we call America a Democracy????

Is this just retarded Dem

Is this just retarded Dem party rule?

Yeah, just retard Dem party

Yeah, just retard Dem party rule. Good time for him to jump on the RP train

Sounds UN-CONSTITUTIONAL..

Not that THAT matters..

Impeachment..

Impeachment is the usual remedy to remove judges I think..

He can appeal it all the way

He can appeal it all the way to 5th cir Court and Supreme Court. I'm tellig you need to approach Denise about being RP's VP. They share same ideas except domestic stuff. First that I know of bipartisan ticket, of course I heard rumors there was one way back in 1820 when McCain first got elected.

Seriously fuck these people.

I don't like Dennis K, I think he is a socialist and a poor leader. However, he should be free to endorse whoever the fuck he wants. Seriously, these people are pissing me off.

No problem...

Ron Paul will support the Republican Nominee, because he will be the Republican nominee.

But the Republicans haven't

But the Republicans haven't ask for this yet, and since it's his home state, maybe that won't happen. I think there would be a riot.

If this is true

Paul should immediately take that as his impetus for running as the Constitution Party nominee.

Ok..So...What can we do? Any ideas. Aren't these Judges ELECTED?

That's crazy

I can't believe that. I went to find more and couldn't believe what I was reading.

So there you have it. The Republicans can easily block Ron Paul from the primary ballots by making him take that pledge. Ron Paul has consistantly said that he couldn't back any of the other candidates unless they changed their views on the war.
