Ben Swann Maine Delegate Story Update - 08/07/2012

From his Facebook page...

I've told you for months about the GOP establishment's efforts to control the Republican National Convention... here is more unbelievable proof of how far they are willing to go. In the state of Maine, it is well documented that 21 of the 24 delegates are strong supporters of Congressman Ron Paul. Those 21 delegates plan to go to Tampa later this month and cast a vote for Dr. Paul to receive the nomination.

A little over a week ago, 20 of those 21 delegates were told that their credentials were being challenged by Mr. Peter Cianchette (who headed the Romney campaign in Maine). The grounds for the challenge... that 20 of these 21 delegates were illegally elected to represent Maine. As a result, the RNC planned to not seat the entire Maine delegation at the RNC in Tampa.

Now, here is where it gets really interesting. This weekend, the RNC, via Maine Republican Party Chairman Charlie Webster offered a "compromise"... take a look:

1. A majority of the delegates sign a statement agreeing that, if Ron Paul is not on the ballot, they will vote at the Convention for Mitt Romney.

2. Instead of Brent Tweed, Charlie Webster or Paul LePage would serve as the spokesperson for the delegation and announce the votes cast for president. That spokesperson would also handle all media on behalf of the Maine delegation.

3. There will be nothing negative said about Mitt Romney or positive said about Obama (especially to media)

4. The Delegation will be admitted to the Convention, and to all committee assignments, without barrier.

5. The Contest brought by Jan Staples and Peter Cianchette will be withdrawn

Tonight at 10:00 PM.. Reality Check is going to break down all the details of this.. as well as two unrelated efforts to block Gov. Romney from receiving the Republican nomination.

For now, you can read the official response from the Maine delegation to the RNC "Compromise" here: Just scroll to the bottom to read the PDF's for yourself.

Nice work Ben...

RON PAUL 2012 !

Comments about the current president of the United States

To demand that nothing good can be said about a sitting president is completely crazy, even for the GOP in "domestic wartime". Its just not right and its a breach of statesmanship. If they act like a bunch of goons at the convention, I guarantee you that all the independents will put on the breaks. Most independents do not care about regulating gay marriage, abortion, or any kind of social contract with America. They are bringing in a bunch of fools to host this convention.

Is it just me, or is this the "1984" of liberty-minded folks being told by the establishment that 2+2=5?

"Give me liberty or give me death!"

Maybe some lawyers would know.

Could this be considered a contract. And is a contract signed under duress binding, or even legal?

Folks the convention is

Folks the convention is lining up to be a watershed moment in US history. If there are 5 states with an RP plurality of delegates and his name is placed in nomination, he speaks. And WHEN he speaks he gives his OWN speech, not a Romulan approved propaganda endorsement.

If this happens, even if RP doesn't go on to win the nomination, it will be a shot heard 'round the world. It will send notice to the GOP, to the country and to the entire world that the liberty movement has arrived, and that we ain't going away!!!

Hang in there delegates and do not waver. You have millions behind you.

Damn straight.

Nothing I've seen from Dr. Paul's campaign is even remotely close to the strength that he has as a speaker. Unless the closed-minded bring earplugs, he'll be flipping Romney delegates left, right and center.

Ron Paul: RNC Short Order Chef

I just love your imagery! That's too funny. I bet right now it's been reported back and someone's been given the job of costing out earplugs. In lieu of that, can't you imagine the instructions that will be passed around to Romney delegates: "Cover your ears and hum under your breath! Or you might get flipped!" I think I'm going to have to make pancakes tonight. Three fit in my pan. When the first sides are nicely browning, I'll take a toothpick and scratch "MR" on the dough sides. Then I'll sing, "Ron Paul! Save our constitutional rights" (FLIP) "Ron Paul! We're not gonna give up the fight" (FLIP) "Ron Paul! Start a revolution" (FLIP) "And break down illegal institutions..." Yup. Ron Paul Pancakes tonight.

Here's To Dr. Paul Delivering the Greatest Speech Ever at Tampa!

Everyone will be watching, including the world!

Concord Hymm

By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard round the world.

The foe long since in silence slept;
Alike the conqueror silent sleeps;
And Time the ruined bridge has swept
Down the dark stream which seaward creeps.

On this green bank, by this soft stream,
We set to-day a votive stone;
That memory may their deed redeem,
When, like our sires, our sons are gone.

Spirit, that made those spirits dare,
To die, and leave their children free,
Bid Time and Nature gently spare
The shaft we raise to them and thee.

start the Ronsteria

to all the Gary Johnson voters, gary will still be there after Tampa so forget about him till then.

to all the Rand haters, you can still hate after Tampa

to all the Campaign haters eg Bennton etc, you can still hate after Tampa.

FIGHT ELECTION FRAUD TOOTH AND NAIL, we need the good Doctor nominated or whats the point. FIGHT DAMN IT FIGHT, NO SLEEP EVERY OUNCE THATS IN YOU NEEDS TO FIGHT. write letters to all 2300 delegates, lets mess with Mitt's delagates.. not with hate but with love and education.

What then?

The good news is that Romney will never be elected president! He may however rig the election like he rigged the primary. What do we do then? What would that mean for America land of the free with liberty and justice for all?

GOP is trying to lose

It seems like the GOP is trying to lose. The Globalist must want 4 more years of Obama puppet. Willard is as popular as John McCain, just another turd in the punch bowl.

You are correct!

Romney is not running against Obama, they both are running against Paul. Now the evidence is too clear to be ignored. The word that came down from above is stop Paul at all costs. This truly is a revolution.

exactly right

how many times must I say it... they don't care if you don't vote for Mitt because Mitt the Shitt is on same team as Obama.... the SAME TEAM. Its us against them, do you think they spent billions to fight each other..... HELL NO. they scared shitless from US, they fighting US, not each other. ALL GET TO TAMPA!!!!

The GOP hacks probably think that in their suit and tie world, these actions will translate into people meekly following their orders.

In reality, these a$$-hats forget that it blows up into huge coverage within the Liberty-minded media, across the internet, and further serves to aggravate the Ron Paul delegates.

Either they're genuinely dumb and this will blow back against their hope for "party unity", or as I mused yesterday, they actually are trying to aggravate the delegates, push them into a corner and provoke them into becoming the 'trouble-makers' that they've tried to label them.

Either way, Ben Swann hits another one over the fence. If he isn't offered a position in Ron Paul's government, the only alternative that would do him justice is to seize Fox News under RICO laws, and put the him in charge of it.

Why on earth would they think they would speak positive of

Barack Obama? Idiots.

LOL Obama Lovers

They've been telling people at the state conventions that RP supporters are Obama lovers in disguise, and they are believing their own propaganda.

Its time to wake up America

It's like Mitt Romney is

It's like Mitt Romney is campaigning to make sure no Ron Paul supporters vote for him. And in that portion of his campaign he is being far more effective.

Romney doesn't want delegates talking to the media you say? I'm afraid I won't be able to accommodate his request

Romney doesn't deserve a vote

I agree with you. My reaction would be to go to the convention and NEVER vote for Romney after these tactics.

The only odd thing to me is...

...the whole thing about not talking to the media. Since when has the MSM ever given Ron Paul his due? Why would they start at Tampa?

Because the World

Is watching, this is what every Ron Paul supporter in Tampa NEEDS to do, get interviews with foreign Media! I want to see one of you guys on my TV in 3 weeks time!

Its not just the US media that will be there!

This is the shot heard across the world!

Ben does it again!

Great job.

If men are good, you don't need government; if men are evil or ambivalent, you don't dare have one.
