Obama fights ban on indefinite detention of Americans

Please share this article with anyone who is still an Obama supporter. He obviously has an agenda that underminds the freedoms of the nation.

The White House has filed an appeal in hopes of reversing a federal judge’s ruling that bans the indefinite military detention of Americans because attorneys for the president say they are justified to imprison alleged terrorists without charge.

Manhattan federal court Judge Katherine Forrest ruled in May that the indefinite detention provisions signed into law late last year by US President Barack Obama failed to “pass constitutional muster” and ordered a temporary injunction to keep the military from locking up any person, American or other, over allegations of terrorist ties. On Monday, however, federal prosecutors representing President Obama and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta filed a claim with the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals in hopes of eliminating that ban.

I just have to say

That as much as it sucks watching our constitution being shredded to pieces...that I love being part of the resistance with you guys...Not a day goes by that I don't try and educate people on whats going on, all knowing that it is for the greater good. The NDAA epitomizes all that is wrong with our federal govt.

looking from the OUT SIDE in

it is all about creating fear
the reporting should be about not having gas and they were a bold to continue Policing / Fire fitters working by implementing cuts and all the city using one signal source of fuel
NO they want to tell all the criminal it is FREE PASS

Just looking from the out side in

Isnt this the same man who said he had reservations

signing it. What a tool

A total joke

And what a sham it is to see liberals still backing up this man...the same liberals that jeered bush on the patriot act. I swear I live in bizarro world where no one has principles or any backbone.

His Reservations....

were that it had to include US citizens anywhere in the world including the US itself.

No one has actually commented about the topic of the posting...

I am kinda bewildered as to the content of most of the comments on this issue. Personally I don't post articles unless I feel they are somewhat credible. This is a very serious matter that needs to be exposed for what it is.

If there is any info that refutes this story please share.

I just saw the other post on here about the journalist

that mistakenly wrote a whole article about Ron Paul and the NOAA instead of the NDAA based off of what she saw on a Pro Ron Paul vehicle. This is why we are screwed as a nation. People just don't get it or refuse to accept what is happening around them.

Sorry.

didn't mean to get off topic.

The topic is scary, but I am not surprised. Unfortunately many people do not care or do not understand the NDAA. I know that myself and my parents have brought it up to many Democrat friends and they simply don't seem to care and are still 100% behind Obama. I think it is one more nail in the coffin to our country becoming a complete dictatorship. The NDAA undermines much more then our rights as US citizens. It undermines almost every inalienable right we have as "having guns" or "speaking out against the tyranny coming from Washington" could land you in indefinite detention without due process. Scary as all heck. I am truly afraid of what either the current admin or future admins will do with this power.

The USA continues to attempt to say they are one thing while being something else. Not sure what to do as it seems like now if I was to simply protest such a law I would be "indefinitely detained".

Why would anyone not trust RT?

They're by far superior to the propaganda merchants in the USSA.

As much as I "like" the articles provided by RT

They are obviously catering to the liberty movement...and in doing so there motive is to cause internal strife in the USA. I do not trust RT as much as the regular MSM. They all have an agenda and frankly any "news source" needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

G.Edward Griffin: " If America is to remain free, its citizens must become far more politically educated than they are at present. More citizens need to do their own research instead of watching and listening to the corporate controlled news media.

Bob Marshall

Agree 100%

Will this happen? Doubtful. There are only a small percentage that want to know what's going on in the real world.

People who have lived under open propaganda often know

when they're being played. The painful past they lived with under atheistic communism taught them much how the political chessboard is set up and played.

We have been trained to trust in Western msm because of it's subtle, left vs. right playbook; it's more like checkers, and less like chess. We've tended to accept, "fair and balanced", as somehow better; simply because we like checkers more than chess.

This article is a fine piece of factual journalism on an issue of utmost importance, imho. I don't get your, "grain of salt", agenda-filter here. We ought to always check our sources independently, and not trust any media source simply because the tend to sound the way we most favor, more often than elsewhere.

I am not arguing against the article itself

I am saying that you have to look at the source and question why. That is all. It is ironic that these type of articles come from a country that is filled to the brim with corruption. To think that a Putin/KGB funded news source has in its best interest our freedom is crazy. Again, this isn't a fight against RT's info, however, you do have to realize that their up to something when producing news that contradicts MSM broadcasting and our current government. They are still an enemy of the USA...that is all. However, whenever someone discusses the legitimacy of RT on here it usually turns into an argument. That is not the point though...just need to be wary.

That's my point also

We ought to be able to selectively agree on the content of an article from any source, and not just discard it out of hand because of the overt and/or covert political agenda's of their sponsors. Enemies, both foreign and domestic, have honed their propaganda skills for the audiences they want to capture and control.

The subject of this article ought to be covered by US media, as well, or better than RT did; but we have to settle for the scraps from our editor's floor, because they don't find this newsworthy enough, eh?

There should be internal strife

There is nothing sacred about being nice when tyranny is afoot. do not trust anyone, always filter news for completeness, thruthfulness, source bias. But if it is true then being nice is asking for tyranny.

I agree

However, RT has an agenda...it is not pro America. Hypocritical for Russia Today to be talking about civil liberties in the USA and nothing about what is going on in Russia. That is all I am saying. Putin has his reasons..the communists certainly know there way around propaganda.

I think there is also a lot

I think there is also a lot of propaganda against Putin. Yes, he may be a communist, but as I see it, first of all he is a nationalist and strongly opposed to all this global government stuff.
This could be the reason for RT being concerned about the liberty movement in the USA, too. But it's just speculation, I don't know what's going on with RT and I agree it somehow doesn't make sense that they support the liberty movement.

You may be right, but we will never know

In all honesty, I think that most news is either scripted, made up, or complete fabrications to literally wash our minds into a particular mindset. I know that is taking a bit far as a conspiracy, but why couldn't it be? The power people of this world are so duplicitous, nothing can be trusted including basic nightly news media...including shootings, extramarital affairs, children sexual harassment, the whole nine yards...who knows what is true and what isn't? I truly believe that the world is not as awful of a place as we are lead to believe. It feels almost like we are being forced to believe it is to give up more of our freedom, money, and sovereignty. This is why I don't really watch any news or pay attention to any of it. It is just depressing...and I feel that is done on purpose to..

I would like to read news

from sources that are without an agenda. Could you point me to these sources?

I wish I could find you perfect sources

However, to get something that you trust requires work. It is irritating as most of us spend our days trying to survive and don't have time to research our own news. It would be nice to turn on the tube and get an unbiased, unfiltered news cast...but that just doesn't happen.

Ben Swann's Reality check is a good source of real journalism, but he only does a couple minute bit about once a week on topics that are related to politics. I like reading http://www.antiwar.com/ as well. It is a libertarian based news source I believe. I believe that Ron Paul reads it...if its good enough for him, its good enough for me.

Good luck. I am not trying to say that RT is wrong in what they are showing us, I am just saying that there is more of a motive that is actually a bit evil then simply alerting Americans. This topic has been argued on here a few times in the past. However, it is clear that there is a problem when RT reports on US politics and anti-freedom when they are silent on their ex kgb president in their own country. All is not what it seems when it comes to news broadcasts, usually.

Thanks

My response was rhetorical. There is no such thing as a news source without an agenda, making it a waste of time to shoot messengers.

Time to INVESTIGATE the investigators of 9/11. PROSECUTE the prosecutors. EXPOSE the cover-up.
