US Government Proposes Law Making It Illegal For Them To Kill You

Last Friday, US Congressman Dennis Kucinich introduced HR 6357, a bill which aims to ‘prohibit the extrajudicial killing of United States citizens’ by the federal government. In other words, in the Land of the Free, they need to pass a law to prevent the government from indiscriminately murdering its own citizens.

Now if this doesn’t give one reason to pause and consider the distortions of liberty that have taken place in western civilization, I don’t know what will. Think about it:

  • Does a free society send government hit men to eliminate anyone they perceive to be an enemy of the state?
  • Does a free society have hundreds of police agencies, each with the authority to deprive a man of his life, liberty and property in their sole discretion?
  • Does a free society have hundreds of thousands of laws, codes, rules, regulations, and policies which effectively criminalize nearly every aspect of one’s existence?
  • Does a free society lead the world in prison population?
  • Does a free society hunt down criminals and terrorists by treating its citizens like criminals and terrorists?
  • Does a free society tell its citizens what foods they are / are not allowed to consume?
  • Does a free society steal your money at gunpoint to buy bombs that they drop by remote control on brown people in faraway lands?

I disagree with Kucinich on a good few points, but I always have considered him an ally on the left. Here's hoping this bill goes through.

Well isn't it wonderful that our gracious government proposes...

It is AMazing

How the media portrays the few politicians left with backbone as "extreme left" or "extreme right".

Guys like Tom Coburn, Jim Demint, Dennis Kucinich, Bernie Sanders, Ron Paul, they get villified like the left and right wing media coordinate to attack any politician who is not NEO-CON or NEO-LIB friendly.

We not only are lining in a police state but we have a government that is becoming more and more Socialist. The plans for our Socialist type government were laid out in Colonel Edward Mandel House's book which he finished in 1911.Philip Dru,Administrator. These plans were were the blueprint carried out by both the Wilson and FDR administrations. A very interesting story of how the Constitution was to be no longer our governing document.

The harsh reality is we are

The harsh reality is we are living in a police state. The autorities can kill citizens without any justification what-so-ever. Everyone is a terrorist suspect. No law under the Constitution, or otherwise, is worth a damn if it cannot be enforced and, with a corrupt legal system, no defense is worth two cents if you are guilty until proven innocent. If by passing the Bill one innocent life is saved then it is a good thing.

This Might Grow The Gov't

I did a little research on this bill and there is a similar if not the same bill that was introduced in 2010.

(2010) http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/111/hr6010
(2012) http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/112/hr6357

Here a bill the the same number: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.R.6357:

2012 bill: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c112:H.R.6357:

I don't know if they are the same or not. But, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it is.

I didn't read all of it, but is sounds like a way to increase the size of gov't. It has nothing to do with "making it illegal for the gov't to kill it's our people."

It might be another patriot act bill to trick us into supporting and getting it passed.

where did you read it all the

where did you read it all the links to the 2012 212th congress one say that the text isnt out yet

Such legislation is unnecessary because of the Constitution

and the Bill Of Rights. This is another example of complete disregard for the laws of the land. Back in the day, tar and feathers were the remedy for such behaviors.

A Govt that justifies killing

A Govt that justifies killing its own citizens is not going to follow the law.

american people?

does this mean or prove the fed gov
is not ours?
the const does not say them reps are lawmakers
they cannot create laws that go against the people
so they must have created all these for and against

If we deny truth before your very eyes, then the rest of what we have to say,is of little consequence

Would this be better served if Patriot, parts of NDAA, etc. were completely retracted, rather than to pile more Bills and laws onto anti-Constitutional legislation?

This Bill may serve as a way to further degrade our Constitution. It may encourage others to continue to bypass the Constitution and then write more laws (loopholes) which would not be needed if the Constitution were headed in the first place.

I somewhat commend this initiative, but remember, though I liked Dennis and believed that he is/was one of the better Democrats out there, he DID support HR347 which has me completely baffled.

Btw, this is not a debate. Beware the dark side.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

But wait, what are the exceptions?

Loopholes so large you could drive a truck through them?

It will get shot down,

by Drones.

A Paul/Kucinich ticket

Could not be beat by either party.

That Kucinich would state it necessary

for such legislation is enough to show him the exit.

And you think the situation could be remedied any other way?

Short of Paul being elected, do you have a better idea?

The real remedy is impeachment

At the very least the president, attorney general, and secretary of defence should be impeached for carrying out the murder and imprisonment of anyone not just US serfs ( citizens ) in direct contravention of the constitution.

A law is not needed just the declaring that the orders of the above named criminals are of no effect and are null and void.

The myth that the courts which are party to the crimes as being part of the same government can rule on the "legality" of such rules or executive orders is a non-starter.

In theory, much of that is already prohibited

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

In practice, not so much.

all that went out the window with the NDAA. It's a sad reflection of the current state of affairs in our country that we need a bill to be passed just to protect us from being murdered by our own government without due process of law.
