New fossil skull from Africa reveals tangled roots at base of the human family tree

By Brian Vastag, Wednesday, August 8, 10:39 AM

A two million-year-old flat-faced skull pulled from the sandstones of east Africa has shored up claims that at least three species of early humans once co-existed in an “evolutionary experiment” that saw an explosive increase in brain size paired with radically different faces, teeth, and jaws.

While the new partial skull and two newly found jawbones look radically different from modern humans, they match an enigmatic, nearly complete skull found 40 years ago that paleoanthropologists have long struggled to fit into the human family tree.

Together, the new finds and the puzzling skull describe a species of early humans clearly distinct from two others known from fossils from the same period, said Meave Leakey, the 70-year-old paleoanthropologist who led the team that discovered the fossils.

The “base of the human lineage was indeed diverse,” Leakey said from her longtime home at the Turkana Basin Institute in northern Kenya. Her colleagues made the finds near there.

Think about it:

NO FOSSILS count for evidence!

A fossil is a DEAD THING found in the dirt, evidence of something buried rapidly; you cannot PROVE it had ANY kids, let alone gave birth to a different kind of animal MILLIONS of YEARS later!

This is how the NWO gets away with everything they get away with! Incessant Propaganda and repeating BIG LIES over and over and over again!

The fossils are dated by the rock layer they are found in, and the rock layers are dated by the fossils found in them - CIRCULAR REASONING.

The Geologic column(HOAX), made up in 1830, only appears in one place in the world: American PUBLIC SCHOOL textbooks!

PUG also said:

Wrong. Let's take one simple example... Imagine a lake in Wyoming 50 million years ago, teeming with many different species of fish. A volcano erupts, dumps huge amounts of volcanic ash into the lake, killing everything in the lake.

A layer of ash and fish is now deposited on the bottom of the lake. Millions of year pass, and the lake continues to build layers of sediment.

Fast forward to the present. The layers are exposed in a road cut, geologists sample the layers and find the fossil fish skeletons. They see that these fish no longer exist on the earth today, they are extinct.

Well, layers of volcanic ash (and most rocks of igenous origin), can be radiometrically dated. They contain radioactive elements of known half-life, Uranium for example. Since we know the half life, and can tell how much Uranium has decayed and how much is left, we can age date the rocks this way.

Since the fish are in the volcanic layer, they are the same age. Not such a stretch, is it?

Now this is done by geologists thousands of times, all over the world, and results are compared. Over hundreds of years, a very reliable geological time scale has been constructed, so that we know the approximate age, in millions of years, of the fossils.

That's a simplified explanation, of course, and there are other ways to indirectly, but reliably, age date fossils.

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

Nice and simple explanation Hi Bugman!

Plus there is cross testing and verification at many sites and drill holes.

I wondered how long you could resist this topic ;-)

Partly for selfish reasons, I wondered how you would respond to some of the claims made here.

Free includes debt-free!

HI Paul... Yep, so obvious...

evolution is as clear as gravity if you open your mind and understand basic geology.

Was going stay out of it this time, but the claims made are too blatanly wrong.

Wrong. We use the geologic time scale (or your "column") in the oil industry. It's essential for oil exploration. We have no political or religious agenda, just practical, real life utility.

This topic has arisen many times on DP, I see most of the same ridiculous arguments by the same narrow minded people who don't understand, or want to understand, basic geology that makes evolution a very sensible explanation of life on earth today.

'Cause there's a monster on the loose

so how did an eyeball evolve?

why not 3 or 4 eyes? hell why not have gill slits as well? or perhaps 4 ears?

Label Jars, Not People!

2 mammal eyes provide depth perception

3 or 4 eyes would be wasteful providing no advantage to a creature that has to spend the extra 'effort'.

Like a government project pretending to stimulate the economy and thinking that two eyes good so 3 or 4 eyes better.

Free includes debt-free!

Every single part of an eyeball

has to be there at the same time for there to be an eyeball, and every single part of an eyeball has to have all of its parts there at the same time for there to be an eyeball part. For one, there haven't been enough billions of years for such a thing to have happened accidentally, and two, I recognize design when I see it. My pickup truck was obviously designed, and my socks, too. And if those vastly simpler objects had to be designed, so did my eyeballs.

Exactly

...To believe in evolution you have to forget how complex life is and just think life created itself out of chemicals. good point about trucks and socks. Under evolutionism, it is easier to believe an f-250 diesel truck with a 7.3 engine evolved from an f-150!

Label Jars, Not People!

Try as I might,

I just can't gin up enough faith to believe that an F-250 evolved purely by accident from an F-150! I just don't have enough faith to believe that frogs turned into princes, or pond scum just up and turned into men. It's a faith problem.

Wow.

This is what happens when incontrovertible evidence meets irrational belief?

A hung jury?

LOL

Fossils are not in favor of evolution

They've found dinosaur blood in fossils meaning that Dinosaurs could not have lived more than a few thousand years ago.

They did find DNA in a

wooly mammoth. In 2006, Discover Magazine ran an article about finding soft tissue in a tyrannosaurus rex.

There is much evidence

of a very young creation being only thousands of years old, but the unbelieving and Godless will have nothing to do with that.
They will soon come to meet with the Great Creator and Judge of the universe in all their wickedness, and be found wanting before they are cast into eternal damnation.
Only God Himself can make one believe the truth of the Bible.

2 million years

Ha, the earth is only 6000 years old! This is rubbish. The flying spaghetti monster created the earth with his noodley appendages 6000 years ago.

The 2nd heaven and earth is 6,000 years old

... not the first.

It's too bad people can't read. The scriptures are clear about 3 separate 'heaven and earth' time periods. The first one 'in the beginning' might be 10 billion years ago. The 2nd is only 6,000 years ago when Adam was formed made and created with a body soul and spirit.

The Bible fits quite well with legitimate science if people would treat it honestly.

Biblically speaking, God did NOT say man should

go forth and PLENISH the earth. The Bible says God said to REplenish the earth, which implies there was something that existed before.

Many things got lost in translation and many things are still being skewed because of a western puritanical mindset, which was not at all the context in which the Books of the Bible were written.

Have to agree with you, jeffery. There is no conflict between the Bible and the truths we see in science. The conflict exists because of the way people (on both sides) close their minds.

Not exactly Nonna

that word "replenish" is "fill"

Thank you!

Thank you soooo much to whoever voted my comment down and didn't even leave a comment as to what was incorrect in my statement. Whichever side of the science vs. Bible you're on, you just proved my point! LOL!

Re Nice try: Perhaps I was too harsh.

The mistaken belief that the universe is 5000 [sic] years old is a common one, the result of a mistranslation. The word which was translated as "days" actually means "leisure suits."

Nice try

You old-earth Pastafarians make me LOL. Six thousand years? Ridiculous. It was only last Thursday when His Pastiness created the earth, sun, planets, stars, and everything, including the Daily Paul, and our memories of "last Wednesday" and "before." He created all the photons that appear to have been racing toward us from distant galaxies for billions of years last Thursday too.

Prove me wrong. You cannot! So my theory is as good as your theory, which is just a theory. Except mine is true. I know it in my pancreas.
