Conservatives Saying This Could Have Been The Moment Mitt Romney Lost The Election

Dear RNC, Repeat after me - "Doh!!!" No, wait, nevermind, just slap your forehead and hang your shaking heads...

The Mother of all "Conservative" campaign gaffes...

Mitt Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul appeared on Fox News' America's Newsroom this morning to hammer the controversial ad from a pro-Obama SuperPAC that blames Romney for the death of a steelworker's wife. But in defending Romney, she veered way off message...

Take it easy people

She was merely stating the truth and should not be crucified for it. Romney and assachusets are/were well within their rights to implement the program they did. It is called the 10th amendment. You have to understand - they are in direct competition with CT to see who can be the most socialist, expensive state to live in. We had the husky program - they needed something to rival that debacle. Mitt crushed us.

I don't know why they are attacking the woman stating the truth - wish we had more of that going around to be honest.

Its all a big joke anyways - it hides the lies. There is only one way to get this country back on track - stop spending money - and what do we spend the most on - the military. 144 million dollars per f22 raptor - that to my knowledge has yet to be used in combat since there is not a single air force in the world that can even compete with our 30 yo planes(not to mention I cant remember in my lifetime ever having a foreign plane come anywhere near our borders except to go to an airshow).

Until we all can agree that all this other shit doesn't matter, we stay distracted and worry about things that don't really matter.
The cost of all healthcare pales in comparison to the cost of the MIC.

Willard lost the election the moment he entered politics.

He's WAY too thin-skinned to cut it as a President, for starters. He's had eight years to prepare for this campaign and it's still a total and complete disaster. And, of course, there's the possible tax cheating and his support for war-mongering, spying, drone use, and all the other disgusting tenets of the neocon agenda.

I don't play, I commission the league.

Romney "loses the election" everyday...

There's a new story everyday about how Romney has buried his chances at winning.

It's mostly crap.

Romney's got some real morons running his campaign, though.

man, what a stupid thread

so some talking head tries to brag about MA healthcare. blahdy blah blah. what is all the noise about?

am i missing something?

Romney or Romulan?

I call him Romulan because he employees a cloaking device type language to selectively bend and distort the truth.

The serpent was the most subtle creature in the garden of God..

Tell people waht they want to hear and they'll vote for you.

In her defense....

it's tough to make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t. Keeping track of Romney's various positions must be like trying to herd cats.

At this point, all you can do

is shake your head at the stupidity.

Ron Time to clinch this.. Attack Ad on this!!!!

I think the campaign must do this to get an edge at the convention. This could be a game changer if he uses it.

Nah...Mitt was groomed to lose from day 1

He's a friggen liberal in a conservative costume, and its soooo obvious he's a total fake conservative at that. I'm certain that is no accident i.e. being the "presumed GOP nominee" despite his repugnance to the conservative base only makes sense if he's being set up to lose. Neocons are also basically Leftist-Trotskyists who have infiltrated and co-opted the Republican party. Democrats are just a different sort of Leftist. America has the veneer of a two party system to give the illusion of choice. But the true hidden reality is one party rule by an alliance of Statists of varying stripes who benefit tremendously by the perpetuation of the status quo. There's nothing real about the elections any longer... from the primaries to the General. Its all carefully constructed toward the pre-planned winner. Its just more transparently fake this time around than usual because the economy is so broken and Obama's record is so awful that his alternative in the General needs to be truly repulsive in order for an Obama re-election to make sense to the sheeple who aren't awake (yet).

Disagreed.

If the GOP was anywhere near smart enough to come up with that strategy and not have anyone in the media catch on, one would also think their voter fraud tactics in the primaries would have been way more subtle than they actually were, right?

The real story is that the GOP base, largely comprised of evangelicals and baby boomers, has been suckered in by a host of neocons willing to fearmonger and pander to them, appeal to their worst instincts through bigoted statements, and keep their government gravy train going. In the real world, however, reasonable people don't trust neocons and don't like them.

Just look at the last few elections. McCain's campaign was a complete disaster. Dubya only won the first time because he ran on a completely different platform (and still just barely eked it out in the Electoral College), and only won the second time because of nationwide support for the wars. Bob Dole lost in a landslide. Bush Sr. was the most recent one-term president. The majority of voters - especially in the younger generations - clearly do not want neocons in office, but the GOP is too blinded by their extremist base to realize this. They keep making the same mistake over and over again, and it will eventually be the end of their party.

I don't play, I commission the league.

"They" don't need to be subtle

with a braindead and complicit MSM. No... the best strategy was to sabotage the GOP nominee since the RP/libertarian faction was going to split the GOP vote anyway if RP was not the nominee. So that's what they're doing. Frankly TPTB don't really care whether its Obama or Romney anyway, as long as a bought-off statists/globalist is the pre-determined winner. Its only a matter of taste to a few members of the elite I believe. Sabotage makes even more sense if you consider that they know the freedom movement is trying to co-opt the GOP at the state level. If they cannot stop us from doing that the best strategy is to sabotage candidates, alienate the base, and destroy the party as much as possible before potentially ceding control.

Exactly

2 thumbs up

sincerely,
Mike G.

Wow

"To that point, you know, if people had been in Massachusetts under Governor Romney’s health care plan, they would have had health care ..."

Wow. He didn't even have a real conservative spokeswoman. No real conservative ever would have said that.

I feel sorry for anyone who considers themselves a conservative. As we've been warning them all along, if Romney gets the nomination they'd have to choose between two liberals.

As Dan McLaughlin noted on twitter

What conservatives are doing re Andrea Saul’s comment is the same as how you housebreak your dog. Romney needs to know not to go there.

So the moment that Romney

So the moment that Romney lost the election is when someone brought up something that we all already knew he had done? I'll never understand this tripe. I'd say he lost the election because he's a terrible candidate that nobody likes and he has no base of supporters. If all goes well, he'll lose the election the moment he fails to secure the GOP nomination in Tampa.

Its because somehow Romeny

Its because somehow Romeny has disavowed Romeny care as "legal" at the state level. and technically it is. but the problem is that MOST republicans say OK, its legal there but not at the federal level. The PROBLEM is that its NOT so much that its "legall" or "illegal" but its about principles. The principle is that you CANNOT force someone to buy something they don't want. Doesn't matter if its legal or not. This blatant confession, blatant disregard for the principles of "REPEAL OBAMACARE" have been understood FINALLY by more conservatives. That Romney = Obama. There is virtually NO differentiating between them. Typical republicans up to this point have agreed to hold their nose. This will be the final straw I think that will turn the campaign around and help the conservatives realize that Mitt's principles are NOT what they think.

Musing.

I woke up wondering this morning about Romney. It's firmly planted in the media here in NZ and around the world that he can't beat Obama.

I don't doubt this idea has been floated here before, and I understand it's probably ludicrous.. but do you think it's possible that Romney's job isn't to lose to Obama, but to lose to Ron Paul, and in doing so, act as a 'human shield' to draw out Obama's best offence, and leave a clear path for Dr. Paul?

I mean, after what we've seen down here of the NAACP booing, the gaffes in Europe, Bain Capital, tax returns, and now this.. either the establishment made the biggest blunder in setting this guy up as their 'candidate', or he's just a diversion.

This from a guy who isn't big on conspiracy theories. :/

Even if

this is only wishful thinking, we in the movement should carry this on to become a huge internet rumor. Even if it has little to no effect it will be fun to watch romney's camp and the GOP squirm.

sincerely,
Mike G.

And by "rumour"..

..you're referring to "factual, unbiased reporting" right?

To hell with internet rumours, this could easily be a blog 'Opinion Piece' that could gain traction. If HuffPo were to write it, it'd be swallowed whole without touching the sides.

HuffPo - if you're not going to attribute the idea you're about to steal, you're damn well gonna pay me.

I Wish!

Personally, I don't think there's any chance of that happening. If somehow it did, though, it would change my entire view on the current state of affairs in this country.

As an aside, I have to say that I'm somewhat envious that you that you live in NZ. If I end up leaving this country, that's one of the places that I would very strongly consider moving to. I've heard a lot of good things.

Well..

You'd be welcome down here, all Ron Paul supporters are. I'm hoping that flip-flop will come this way before the election.. we'll put on a show for him that'll make him want to go back to Poland. :)

LOL

:D

got to love the breadth of the Ron Paul movement. The fight for freedom is worldwide

Well..

..Bush, Obama and Romney want to rule the world. If Ron Paul doesn't get into office, by 2016 we'll probably have voting rights in the US election. :)

Nice thought

but probably just a happy dream.

nope . . . the GOP and MSM

have told *them* to vote for Romney, so they will--

sad.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

He lost a long time ago

His only chance is to rig the voting machines. Then we can call him the pretender in chief.
