I knew when I saw the title

I knew when I saw the title of this thread that it was factually incorrect.

How did I know from the title of the thread that it didn't have the facts straight?

Because the 2012 RNC Rules are, at best, only "proposed" rules until they are adopted by the body of the convention. The body at the convention can pretty much change the rules to its pleasing, so long as their amendments do not conflict with the RNC Constitution or By Laws.

So even if you had the actual 2012 RNC proposed rules (which I guarantee are different than the 2008 rules that were adopted) in your hand right now, you'd have no guarantee that they would be the rules the convention delegates will be operating under during the convention.

Mass speculation is one of the greatest wastes of energy of this movement.

We know what we have to do, we know what we can have a difference over right now. Help your local liberty candidates. Help Ron Paul make sure his delegates get to D.C.

Help Kurt Bills in his campaign for U.S. Senate. He needs donations if he is going to be able to beat popular incumbent Amy Klobuchar. He can beat her just like Paul Wellstone beat Rudy Boschwicz in 1990, but he needs the resources to get his message out. He's an exemplary pro-liberty candidate, and we are highly fortunate to have this opportunity. Let's not waste it by spending energy posting rules that aren't even applicable to the upcoming convention. Thanks!

2008 rules... be careful,

2008 rules... be careful, they might be different.

What rules?

Didn't people learn a lesson at the state GOP conventions that there were no rules and the GOP did as they pleased?

Perhaps the problem was we didn't know those rules well

enough and couldn't come back fast enough at the parliamentary razzle dazzle. Knowing more is always better than knowing less.

LOL at the Preamble! Really? Since when?

BE IT RESOLVED, That the Republican
Party is the party of the open door. Ours is the party
of liberty, the party of equality, of opportunity for all,
and favoritism for none.
It is the intent and purpose of these rules to
encourage and allow the broadest possible
participation of all voters in Republican Party
activities at all levels and to assure that the Republican
Party is open and accessible to all Americans.

~Your perception becomes your reality~

This stuck out to me

as well. LOL favoritism of none LOL broadest possible participation of ALL voters! Party is open and accessible to ALL Americans! WOW...

Errors.

Sorry, I think you must have transposed the text incorrectly. Here, I've fixed it for you.

BE IT RESOLVED, That the "Republican Party"(C) is the party of the open door. Ours is the party of liberty, the party of equality, of opportunity for all*, and favoritism for none.

It is the intent** and purpose** of these "rules" to REDACTED and allow the REDACTED of REDACTED in Republican Party activities REDACTED and to assure** that the Republican Party is REDACTED to all Americans.

That deserves a post of its own

and a new "Humor" forum made specially to accommodate it.

Thanks for posting those

at least now we know how they won't run the convention.

They'll try to buffalo us with references to the rules

the only answer is to know those rules better.

Rule 11 must be enforced at Tampa

RULE NO. 11

Candidate Support

(a) The Republican National Committee shall
not, without the prior written and filed approval of all
members of the Republican National Committee from
the state involved, contribute money or in-kind aid to
any candidate for any public or party office except the
nominee of the Republican Party or a candidate who is
unopposed in the Republican primary after the filing
deadline for that office. In those states where state law
establishes a nonpartisan primary in which Republican
candidates could participate, but in which the general
election may not include a Republican candidate, the
candidate endorsed by a convention held under the
authority of the state Republican Party shall be
recognized by the Republican National Committee as
the Republican nominee.

(b) No state Republican Party rule or state
law shall be observed that allows persons who have
participated or are participating in the selection of any
nominee of a party other than the Republican Party,
including, but not limited to, through the use of a multiparty
primary or similar type ballot, to participate in the
selection of a nominee of the Republican Party for that
general election. No person nominated in violation of
this rule shall be recognized by the Republican National
Committee as the nominee of the Republican Party
from that state.

Has the RNC violated Rule 11? Hoo, boy! We could probably have a shorter list of rules they haven't broken, expecially at the county, district, and state conventions.

Is there some way...

To bring this up at the convention? Obviously have a few documents supporting the case where RNC funds were actually used to support Romney.

But this would be awesome to hear on Live television!

Any delegates on here?

Thank You!
