Tom Woods: Is Paul Krugman a Coward?

Keynesian economist Paul Krugman has been challenged to a public debate by Austrian economist Bob Murphy. Right now nearly $75,000 will go to a NY Food bank if Krugman agrees. The pledge number is rising.

A fool and coward

Krugman has assessed the situation, arisen on his pi$$ soaked legs and turned tail and fled at the sound of reason.

So no $76,861 for the Food Bank Because Krugman is scared?

. That's how I read it.

calling Krugman a "coward" is like calling Hitler "ornery"

yes - it's true, but it's also quite insignificant when compared to his other faults/crimes.

That's a debate I'd like to see

Much more interesting than any debate concerning Romney and Obama.

Krugman is built up so much by sycophantic leftists, you'd think he is some kind of god.

The longer Krugman procrastinates...

The more money the NY Food Bank for the poor will receive. Krugman loves the poor or at least professes to do so. Therefore in order to maximise the donation he will keep putting off the debate.

The question to ask him is "How much money for the poor do you want to see in the New York Food Bank before you accept the challenge to debate Dr. Murphy?" This will then set the target for the debate lovers to aim for.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

Paul vs Paul, on Bloomberg 04/12

Krugman "food and fuel prices are not being driven by Fed policies" WTF? Really? Most of you have seen this before, but worth watching again. A good example of the fantasy twisted thinking of Paul Krugman and the razor sharp logic of Ron Paul.

Thanks for posting.

Great video. Well worth the time to watch it.

One hour: both too short and too long...

Too short, because...
Krugman may not be right, but he can surely mumble his way through. He can dodge questions, change subject, tell anecdotes that are not relevant and support nonsense with other nonsense. One hour? Not enough time to nail him. Remember, he doesn't need to win... He can just pretend not to be loosing. Using body language and tone of voice, for example.

Too long, because...
After about 10 minutes only the really interested people will still be listening. And that's people who are probably already Austrian in their views.

Not only a coward, but an utter piece of shi...

...well, you know the rest of it.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

No, no, no

No this would not be an interesting debate.

No Krugman never won a Nobel for economics (there isn't one, his was a Nobel _____ award)

no.

Potential Annualized National Debt Allowance - a look back at 40 years of PANDA diplomacy next Pandaline

Yeah

and that could be pointed out in the debate, too (the Nobel thing).

Don't You Just Love Tom Woods?

"You might as well just go ahead and have the debate, because this isn't going to go away, and this is no way to live your life."

Rothbard: "Bipartisan: both parties acting in concert to put both of their hands in your pocket."

Is Paul Krugman a coward?

yes

It would be great for the

It would be great for the public to see, but it gives too much credit to Krugman who is more of a professional worm mouth piece than an economist.

Can't really blame......

Krugman for not wanting to look stupid on national television - again.

Put the pressure on

why not post his radio show times and call in numbers so we can put on the pressure?

Mr. Jinx

Keynesian Krugman has been heard spouting a line made famous by Mr. Jinx of Pixie & Dixie fame:

"I hate those Mises to pieces!"

LMAO

That's a hoot!

Krugman isn't interested in

Krugman isn't interested in defending his logically inferior economic views because the majority of the public has swallowed his bait hook line and sinker. Debate could only serve to further the cause of his opposition. Hes not concerned about the truth. Hes a statist shill who is paid to validate the rationale of the state. Anyone who is interested in which economic theories hold the most water already knows Krugman lost. Those who don't know that wouldn't pay any attention to the debate anyway. Still I admire Murphy's creativity. The beauty of it is that even though Krugman will never take the bait the public could take note of Murphy's confidence and become interested in checking into Austrian econimics.

Great

I love all the subtle suggestions about how people should bombard Krugman with questions about why he won't debate.

Do something for the movement and stop being negative

Do something for the movement and stop being negative on ideas that can effect change. Its seems we have to many negative nancys always complaining how this will only lead to someone saying this. I love all the communication and its important to try to grow here, but it seems some individuals dwell in the fact that it does no good people are stupid. I really think that the majority are clueless and distracted, but people need to hear the message of liberty or see it regardless. Don't feel defeated and if your arguing with friends and family members and they still have not changed, focus your energy on something that can effect others that is more deserving of your time. Its time we start working, do your own part, do something and do not rely on Dr. Paul or Gary Johnson, do something in your community. Just realize that right now there is an opportunity in front of you, if you choose to not see it then thats fine, keep blogging negativity, but for those that want change, BE CHANGE!

People should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people.

Tom Woods and Bob Murphy

Are two of my heroes. Murphy would OWN Krugman. We're talkin' SERIOUS smackdown, Mises style.

I love this idea

But it's unfortunate that Mr Krugman won't accept such a debate. Who wouldn't enjoy watching this? Besides, it benefits charity! Who could be against that? OK, so if Mr Krugman needs a few months to study, fine. Ultimately, he should agree to it.

He needs to Go Take A Course In Econ 101

He is perfect for the establishment. Put out the lie via Paul Krugman and his Nobel prize makes him sound credible even though most of us know he is a fraud..

He isn't so much a coward but he needs to push the lie as truth as his global masters have positioned him to do...

"Repeat the lie often enough...and the people will believe it"

errors:

Paul Krugman is not a Nobel prize for economy winner, because there's no such prize as the "Nobel prize for economy" and Alfred Nobel never intended any such prize, not even the Wikipedia or any other really serious encyclopedia recognizes any such prize.
(ok, one error...)

emalvini's picture

So True...Alfred Would Be Very Upset If he Knew The Way In Which

the prize has been awarded in his name..

obama

nobel PEACE prize? using that logic, they should give the economic prize krugman.
