Divisions appearing amongst GOP ranks against Romney

(over Andrea Saul comments)

Keep FIGHTING for a brokered convention! Romney is HELPING us with all his screw ups and gaffes. Keep the PRESSURE and heat turned up HIGH on Romney. The more pressure and heat that can be applied the more gaffe's that Romney and his team will make.

Romney is continuing to slide in the polls and questions amongst die-hard GOP are starting to be asked about Romney's nomination in Tampa.

There is a Twitter FireStorm currently raging over this and lots of divisions between different GOP people. Search "Andrea Saul"

Never one to miss an opportunity I am trying to stick red hot needles in the cracks that are appearing. Going for ex Santorum and Gingrich supporters mostly. And generally with Andrea Saul in the post.

Great compilation of GOP divisions

It should have a very easy task to discredit Obama's angle, but Andrea Saul wasn't up to it. She repeated the blatant lie that Romney left Bain in 1999. She plainly does not know her a** from her elbow.

Ann Coulter Demands Andrea Saul Be Fired Or Conservatives Should Boycott Donating to Romney. Some interesting comments in this article.

If you read RedState, and some of the conservative rags, the rage against Romney is so lively I wonder if some conservatives haven't made the conscious choice that Romney is their equivalent of John Edwards, whose campaign will implode with scandal over taxes, Bain, and perhaps, even other stuff we haven't heard yet, so figure it is better to take him out before the convention, to avoid a total disaster for the GOP in November.

Even though most of us have scoffed at the GOP convention replacement scenarios (even though I wrote one up as a thought starter three months ago,) is it possible hard core Republicans figure sticking with Romney all the way through November after a convention lock in could be worse?

8:31 PM PT: A comment by Nailbanger prompted this question which could become quite a bit more significant if true. From my response to to nailbanger below. Could it

.. be possible that hard core conservatives realize that Romney is going to lose, or maybe even become the "John Edwards of the GOP" so it is better for them to cut their losses, now to preserve their own "credibility."

Like it would be better for their long-term reputations if they go down in history as the folks who took down Romney from the inside, rather than let it look like Democrats did it in a November landslide election that we will then use as evidence of public "repudiation" of their right-wing zealotry.

Dramatically, and publicly turning on Romney now could portray Romney as "the loser" rather than "right-wing zealotry" with would otherwise take the hit in November.

Yep...

Winning! Watch out for the police state in Tampa. Follow Dr. Paul's lead and it could come out okay in the end.

Winning

Spread this far and wide Patriots. I have been posting clips of this all over the conservative blogs. Sell the idea that Mitt is NOT conservative. He WILL lose. Republicans must get a new candidate in Tampa to beat Obama. Sell it hard. Do not offer Paul as the solution yet. We CAN drive this conversation and build momentum. Believe me, many delegates WILL JUMP SHIP. There is NO enthusiasm for Romney and if the main selling point we heard at the state conventions "We need to unite behind Romney to beat Obama" can be blown up, then all bets are off!!! Hammer down Patriots! Whoot!

Hit all of the Fox news article comment sections and facebook pages of Hannity etc. Check all of the resources listed in the comments of this thread.

Direct them

to the you tube of romney saying "I'm a progressive". They will have a panic attack right there and start vomiting.

Then direct them to info on Mitt's aborted baby corpse burning business.

It's teats up for Mitt. Worse than John Edwards by a long shot.

Keepin' it real.

I have a life long friend (that I only see every 5 years or so)

that is an evangelical christian that won't vote for a mormon. I wonder if there is a lot of Christians that won't be voting for him because of his faith. While I would never vote for Romney it has nothing to do with his choice of religion (for the record, I am a Christian). She said she will be voting for Obama. Blech! Anyway, I loaned her my Liberty Defined book in hopes that she will read it and understand how important it is to fight for our freedoms.

So clearly Romney has more issues then just this.

I Doubt It

I don't think Romney's religion matters to the vast majority of voters. Although every time Romney and his supporters bring it up, they sound like they are playing the victim card. That works with liberals, but among conservatives it makes you sound whiny.

Very true, HUGE ISSUE!

Very true, HUGE ISSUE! However, most hold it close to their chest as they do not want to publicly acknowledge they are prejudice against Mormons, but, all the same this WILL hold THOUSANDS back!

The real anger is due to their fear of Dr. Paul!

It is evident that the anger in Coulter is far more due to the fright it brings upon her, that Ron Paul might be nominated due the obvious imploding 'flip flopper' Romney!

The author also shares the same fear possibly.

A sentence part way down the page reveals their expectation that Romney would eventually fold and implode in any case, something they knew and factored in for their only option choice designed to stop Paul during the lead-up to the convention!

But their expectation and plans did not include Romney imploding prior to the convention... something which would allow Ron Paul the possibility to gain the nomination, defeating 'the best laid plans of mice and men':

Consider this sentence:

"Wouldn't it be great if hard core conservatives start bailing on Mitt Romney in August. I didn't expect this until October."

I rest my case. There is no doubt that the status quo PTB are still circling the wagons, trembling in fear, at that possibility!

Do you mind if we use that?

If you want to #DitchObama we need to #DitchMitt stuff like that.

We need to work the reporters too.

Yesterday, Mitt Romney’s spokesperson Andrea Saul created an uproar when she touted Romneycare while pushing back against an Obama-allied super PAC’s “Romney killed my wife with cancer” ad. A lot of conservatives piled on Saul, with Ann Coulter calling for her to be fired. Matt Lewis wrote a broader post questioning Romney’s personnel choices, and noting that Saul once worked for Charlie Crist, a perch from which she attacked Marco Rubio. Though I also wrote that it was a big blunder for Saul to cite Romneycare in the way she did, I can’t really blame Romney’s problems on her or anybody else on his team. The problems all come back to Romney himself.

The bottom line is that Romney was a moderate to liberal governor of Massachusetts, and had to adopt conservative positions that he isn’t entirely comfortable with to win the Republican nomination, health care being the most prominent example. Having to defend Romneycare while excoriating Obamacare isn’t an easy position to maintain, so I’m sympathetic to Saul. All she did was tout her candidate’s signature achievement as an elected official. It’s only considered a gaffe because Romney’s health care position is so hard to reconcile.

Take this weak McCain V2 down at the convention in Tampa.

November 6th 2012 I voted for Dr.Ron Paul
"We must remember, elections are short-term efforts. Revolutions are long-term projects." ~ Ron Paul

Look at my twitter t/l to see just how hard it is

to convince them.
These people have been brainwashed by Fox for 20 plus years.

These were Beitbart fans not hardened neocons, except for the one who popped up for 1 post right at the end.

My twitter handle is @Ian56789

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

WE need to start the

WE need to start the "Conservative Movement to DUMP Mitt Romney in Tampa!" And plaster this ALL OVER twitter, facebook, reddit, blogs, comments, ALL OVER THE INTERNET! At least so that when Mitt does NOT emerge with the nomination, people were already expecting it! And hopefully, to encourage the dumping of Mitt! So, everyone, spend these last couple of weeks before the convention all over the internet promoting the "Conservative Movement to DUMP MITT in Tampa!", or "DUMP MITT"! We NEED everyone talking about this!! We HAVE to make this GO VIRAL! Burn up twitter with it! A Republican REVOLT!

PS. Do NOT connect it to Ron Paul, make it seem like a grassroots Conservative ground swell movement from regular Conservatives! Do not make it about Paul or it will be marginalized as just those crazy Paul supporters!

How long until we hear the phrase:

"Ron Paul is surging!"

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath either, but I'd be lying if I haven't fantasized about it!

Keep It Simple

Avoid conspiracy stuff. Using his record in MA, point out that Romney is pro-socialized-medicine, pro-gun-control, pro-abortion, pro-gay-marriage, and basically a Democrat. Let them know that if they nominate Romney, they will be handing the GOP over to liberal progressives.

McCains file on Romney is best to do that

From 2008.
One of their own carries more weight.

There are some follow up points on here.

Yes keep it simple.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

I think they must not even want to win.

I think they see the shit coming down the pike and are afraid to be at the helm. By they, I mean the GOP. I think Ron Paul is the only one brave enough and smart enough to hold the reins for the rocky, wild ride ahead.

With the Romney campaign and Willard, himself,

tripping all over their own feet, the delegates at the RNC should be ripe pickins' for us. Grassroots promotion of Ron Paul should be on all fronts right now, and in Tampa. Look how far we've come with the American people, compared to just 4 years ago! We have one last chance for a final push on ALL fronts before the nomination process.

Here is one thing that can win over more delegates, if we'd only support it, instead of getting caught up in personalities:

It is not as easy as you think

You can take a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

I am feeding anti Romney information in gradually to start making them think.
You have to go SLOWLY.
Most do not want to read anything, but if you play it right and don't appear too eager you can hook them.

Most of these people have had 20+ years worth of brainwashing by Fox.
You have to un brainwash them.

Don't mention Ron Paul though.
You can only do that once you have convinced them Romney can't win.
And then started eliminating other possible GOP candidates that they might like.
If you have ruled out 3 or 6, you can then mention Ron Paul.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Yes

Now is the time to post video on the facebook pages of Hannity and all of the other Fox commentators who herd the Republicans. Flood them with this info. Romney is not conservative, he is going to lose, we need another candidate ASAP etc...

Hi, Ian56!

Never thought for a moment that it would be easy and with the gains we've made, it will be even harder to get past TPTB. Our victories were won by the grassroots working like hell and not getting discouraged. This isn't the time for the grassroots to lay low, with the convention only a couple of weeks away.

IMO, part of the unbrainwashing you speak about would be the impact of the sight of a thousand or more (when you add in supporters) veterans standing at attention and saluting Dr. Paul at the RNC. Even the brainwashed will be in awe of it. With the international press there, it will send a powerful message to people in the countries we are fighting that we are not their enemy.

YES

The sight of the Veterans march and 100,000 Ron Paul fans in Tampa can have a HUGE impact.

It might be the tipping point to wake some people up who talk to others who talk to others who ......

As will billboards, anti Romney/pro Ron Paul material in delegate hotels and around the Convention Hall or the roads leading to it.

EVERY Ron Paul fan that can get there is needed in Tampa.
YOU might just be that tipping point.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Bear in mind that it will be broadcasted

all over the world. People will wake up and talk about it all over the world! This could be a tipping point battle in our R3VOLution and we need to support each other in Tampa for the cause of Liberty to achieve victory in the end. We must put aside our differences about Adam and PaulFest (neither of which matter in the long run).

To me this

article is written by a Blue Republican, not a libertarian.

Unless one wants to see Obama in the office again, I do not understand the childish glee like "questions amongst die-hard GOP are starting to be asked about Romney's nomination in Tampa."

Our enthusiasts do not realize that if something happens to Romney, GOP wont accept RP anyway. They will bring in Santorum or Gingrich back to replace Romney. In the hypothetical case, if RP is nominated, GOP will join Democrats to vote for Obama. Even after that, CIA has Electoral College and other means to neutralize liberty movement.

For a stable free society to exist, consensus of the majority is needed.

Winning

Our enthusiasts realize we have the power to do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFKZqbGRuxs Hammer Down Patriots!! Whoot!

As Ludwig von Mises

pointed out government rules by few through many. The only thing the rulers can rely on is public opinion. Therefore, fight for liberty is not many against few, but few against many - the tyrannical public opinion on left, center and right.

Many children among us put all their mental energy on GOP apparatchiks, the FED, 5-6 banks. Preaching among us, converted, is easy. Spreading our ideas based on their own strength when economy is NOT in stagnated shape is hard.

PS, But until our ideas are not spread to the majority of active citizens, GOP caucuses, Roberts rules and fantastic strategies wont usher a free society. It does not mean we should stop fighting in GOP, but our goals should be spreading ideas, not jeering or devising schemes to overthrow the establishment by faith in Rule 38. Communicating with fiscal conservative Evangelicals and participating in Libertarian Party is a good start.

Since the same me got [-7] & [+5]

I need to elaborate to those who got confused with RP citing "tireless minority." The trick is that most of people are followers by nature (including most RP supporters.) If we get the critical number, the majority will be achieved by immediate impact.

But intellectuals and successful businessmen (with some exceptions) are not interested in free society and the poor is often lazy and scared. The job is harder than we think. Only accepting Ayn Rand MORALITY will allow intellectuals, businessmen and the poor to subdue short-term benefits they derive from BIG government (same as religious people subdue rational thinking to a belief) to long-term goal to be free.
