Google Hit With $22.5 Million Fine to Settle Privacy Charges
Submitted by go213mph on Thu, 08/09/2012 - 17:04Looks like the Government is just making Google pay a shakedown fee to me. Does anyone still beleive that such a thing as online privacy even exsists anymore? And, like normal there is different set of laws for the rich and corporations. Pay enough to the criminals in charge of the racket referred to as "The Government" and your good to go!
** Google was not required to admit to any liability, and the settlement does not constitute an admission of wrongdoing.
** It was the largest penalty ever placed on a company for violating an FTC order, yet the fine is a drop in the bucket compared to Google's second-quarter revenues of $12.21 billion.

Government shakedown? How to tell.
Did any of the money go to people whose privacy was allegedly violated?
