Congressman Justin Amash to Speak at Paul Festival

Paul Festival is thrilled to announce that Congressman Justin Amash of Michigan’s 3rd District will be speaking on the evening of Sunday, August 26th, following the Ron Paul USF Sun Dome event. As a freshman and the second-youngest member of Congress at age 32, Amash has already proven himself to be a game-changer.

Earlier this year Congressman Amash made headlines with his Smith-Amash Amendment, which was set to repeal the indefinite detention of American citizens provision included in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), that had been quietly signed into law by Obama on New Year’s Eve, 2011.

Gigi Bowman: "How about this...Amash just pulled out of Paulfestival with no real reason (this is being run by the grassroots) and it was just announced that he's speaking at the Sundome. RUDE. THIS after we sent out a press release that he was speaking and got everyone excited. Well guess he is on the Randwagon. Because that is exactly what this is. I'm so done."

She appears to be the rude one, must be LL's sister.

I agree

Seems to me, that those involved with the p.a.u.l. fest are NOT with Ron Paul's plan in becoming the establishment (becoming the establishment we want), but rather to divide us and keep those who are afraid of the establishment enslaved to their fear.

i don't get it

why is an Israel representative speaking at a Paul rally ??

A Palestinian/Syrian Arab is

A Palestinian/Syrian Arab is an Israel Representative? WTF?

Support Rand, Amash & other liberty candidates? Check out: http://www.LibertyConservatives.com/

Great! The Paul festival is

Great! The Paul festival is about Ron and his views, not the views of another. Sure, all of the speakers have their variations of Ron's views, but the speeches will very likely follow the core views as expressed by Ron. If you can go, do so! It's nice to see the festival gain traction. Record lots of video and have a great time!

Still Not Voting for Gary Johnson

What's your thinking legalizeliberty, post that Justin Amash is "said" to be speaking at a Libertarian Party festival that we will automatically support gary johnson? Nope still not voting, supporting gary johnson.

You can vote for satan...

Your down-voting does not create any good.

Feel free to not vote for Johnson.
But at least don't attack his supporters.

What do you mean attack?

You have no shame, using Justin Amash to push gary johnson

This should answer everyone's

This should answer everyone's questions about who will be there, why Dr. Paul will not be there and how this event includes every facet of liberty and all who have been inspired by Ron Paul. I believe there are people who have nothing to do but bitch all day long and post negative crap. I say they get a new line of work.

Just in case anyone questions why Ron Paul won't be there ---I spoke to Mrs. Paul, it's for security reasons. That is why he's doing it at the Sun Dome and we on the Paul Festival Planning Committee are working with the campaign.

~but in case you haven't noticed, Wayne Paul is on the list! lol

GigiBowman, Who told you that Amash would speak @ paulfest?

+ 1

Gigi I made a post from the video you just posted on Twitter:

If this is indeed Ron Paul's last major event, having Amash afterward may be seen as a symbolic "passing of the torch" for the Liberty movement.

Ron Paul's rally at the Sun

Ron Paul's rally at the Sun Dome is in no way his last major event.

This post should really read as

"Congressman Justin Amash to Speak at Gary Johnson/Libertarian Party Festival"

If you want to see Ron Paul at an event in Tampa the weekend before the RNC it's here -

I am!

Lopez Obrador and Ron Paul ARE NOT THE SAME!

It is like saying that black and white are the same.

Here is Lopez Obrador's 10 point plan to "fix" Mexico:
Google translated: http://bit.ly/O9c7ED

1.He wants to take/return to the state the mining, oil and other companies. The state should not own any of that!

2.He wants to bring democracy to the mass media. Again the problem is the mixture of state and media. That would only make things worse.

3.He wants government to stimulate the economy. The opposite of what Dr. Paul teaches.

4.He wants the government to mess around with prices. We need exactly the opposite...

5.He is kind of right, in trying to break corporatism but at the same time he is promoting it.

6.He wants to fix corruption, but by making government bigger you are just encouraging it.

7.He wants the government to improve the energy sector. What a joke! They just need to get out of the way to improve it.

8.He wants central government planning to have enough food. Again a bad mixture.

9.The government needs to protect the "poor". This sounds more like Obama to me than Ron Paul.

10.Promote tolerance. Mmmm, I smell hate laws here. Not that Ron Paul would be voting for that anytime!

And BTW the other candidates where also in the same boat. Here is a nice summary of the others: http://www.dailypaul.com/242516/mexican-elections-this-weekend

Yeah Andres Manuel Lopez

Yeah Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is a leftest, to his credit he is against central banking & the central bankers robbed him of the Presidency.

amash is a sell out

in a bad way.

Care to elaborate??

Amash is one of the best we got in the liberty movement!

um, say what?

Can you back that up?

This is HUGE! :)

This is HUGE! :)

Good record on voting, needs to learn to hit 100%....

He has a 90 and 93% constitutional vote (Ron Paul has 100%, surprise!) according to the JPS:

Does anyone know if Dr. Paul is planning

on having other speakers at his rally? If so, I'd have hoped he'd have Amash, Massie, Judge and maybe Stossel speak.

Dr. Paul

Is not planning this event, you might want to ask Gary Johnson.

I am!

He is having guest speakers

Per his website, though I don't think they have been announced yet.

I don't care who is there... I'm going to see Dr. Paul!

Ron Paul convert from the Heart of Dixie

I don't know if the rally

Is having other speakers or not. Anyone? There is definitely enough time for other speakers.

I am!

Good question

Thanks for a bump.
