Governor Paul LePage Threatens RNC Boycott If Maine Ron Paul Delegates Are Not Seated!

"Today, conservative talk show host Ray Richardson announced on Faceboook that Governor Paul LePage, the only elected member of the delegation not challenged by Romney’s supporters, has announced that he will boycott the convention if the Ron Paul delegates are not seated. From Richardson’s post:

The Governor of Maine, Paul LePage, in a conversation five minutes ago said that if they do not seat the Maine Delegation at the RNC, he will not go. These folks need to be seated.

The Governor gave me explicit permission to make this public.

This declaration ups the ante in this conflict and, if the challenge to the delegates is not resolved amicably before they arrive in Tampa, will likely make the Maine disagreement into national news."

Secret libertarian

LePage probably is a secret libertarian. He was backed by the Tea Party on a relatively socially tolerant (pro civil liberties, civil unions, etc), fiscally very conservative (very anti-IRS) platform and also asked to meet Dr. Ron Paul earlier this year. He is supporting Romney only to appease the establishment (like Rand Paul).

Lobsters 4 Liberty

Support Maine's Governor Paul LaPage for supporting us and the American way. I will be buying some Maine Lobsters tomorrow. Mmmm.

Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected, once it's realized that our Liberties and Wealth are in Jeopardy. -Ron Paul

Congratulations to Govemor LePage for his courageous......

position. It is rare in today's politcal climate in which a highly ranking politician makes a devoted political stand exhibiting not just high moral integrity but with a touch of ethical resoundness as well. Thankyou Govenor for standing above and beyond a majority of your colleagues and for not lacking the all important fortuitous political stance required in such a difficult time of an all important and thus irreversible decision.

Whether he did it for votes......

or not he still did it. Maybe after he gets lauded for it he will be encouraged to go even further and take on the political machine in his state. This is the way things spread.

just sent a message

to his office. Its the least we can do and only takes a minute.

I left a message

On his facebook page. :)

Ron Paul convert from the Heart of Dixie

It's not nice when you report several precincts with a voting

result of -0-. The people tend to frown on that. Ron Paul won Maine. Maine knows it. Ron Paul won Iowa. Iowa knows it. And so on, and so on...

Thanked him for his stand

understand entirely. We need a few more governors who really care about their constituents, as Maine's does. (I sure hope the RNC either does this so blatantly that they get lawsuit up over their heads, or they do the right thing)

A governor with an actual

A governor with an actual sense of integrity ... great. Now, we DESPERATELY need governors willing to go head-to-head with Washington, D.C, over the tenth amendment even IF the process eventually degenerates into another civil war. Equip the locals for possible war with the federal government, governors, but work to avoid it IF possible. No compromises. Make the case of restoring the tenth amendment to the people of your respective states, governors. LePage's stance is largely symbolic on behalf of his state's delegates, but it's a wise move on many levels.

Your integrity and honor in stepping up to the plate in defense of Maine's duly elected Ron Paul supporters is worthy of much praise! All serious adherents to the defense of our God-given liberties and freedom from threats to personal and economic well-being (by the Federal Reserve Banksters, cynical warmongerers, NDAA, the United Nations, who attempt to take over our military decisions, as well as our citizen rights to self-defense,) must be countered by high minded and steadfast individuals as you and Doctor/Congressman Ron Paul most assuredly are! RON PAUL 2012! Thank you once again, Governor LePage!! Good sailing to you, always!

Anyone live in Maine with a video camera and some balls

Anyone live in Maine with a video camera and some balls get Charlie Webster on video and ask him why he did all the fraudulent activities and then call your local news and give them the footage if they will accept, LETS TURN THE HEAT UP ON THIS CORRUPTION

People should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people.

now we're talking

cause a stir based on true facts .... not taking it anymore - now is the time to to take a stand.

Nope, this guy has the goods

I think this may be the highest ranking official to take a risk for the Dr. Great courage Gov.

Political Ploy

This sounds like a ploy to get re-elected. He's seen the way the political winds are blowing in the state. If he was serious, he'd order state troopers to arrest Charlie Webster for criminally interfering with an election.

that's my governor!

that's my governor!

If his record

comes close to the level of Gary Johnson as governor he would be a good choice for 2020 or 2016.

Sorry, this thread is about the govenor of Maine.

I think you were meaning to post in one of the mulititude of other gj threads.

Thank you my governor!

I'm quite sure they know if the delegates are not seated they will lose much needed support for many Republican candidates on national, state and local ballots in November.

Game on Gov. LePage. I truly hope you keep it going.

I hope to see you in Tampa!

Every year is a year for Ron Paul!

Thank you Governor LePage

Sent him a note just now.
Dear Governor LePage,
I wanted to thank you for your support of the Maine delegates.
The way that the delegate process has taken place across this great
country is disgraceful. This is the first time I have participated in the political process and I am disgusted at how the Republican party has treated the Ron Paul Supporters. People who LOVE OUR COUNTRY, THE CONSTITUTION AND LIBERTY so much that they have put up with being lied about, cheated, and abused this past year by
the Republican party. These supporters do all this for the hope that
they can get TRUTH AND HONESTY back into our government.

These supporters will not forget what you have done for the Maine
delegates. Governor LePage your name will be remembered
in the future by the supporters of LIBERTY.

Just sent Governor LePage an

Just sent Governor LePage an email thanking him for doing what is right.

Perhaps others could do the same.

We all need to show our support for him and what he is doing for Ron Paul and all his delegates, not just for Maine. By standing up for Paul delegates in Maine, he will indirectly bring attention to what is happening to delegates in the other states that Romney is trying to steal.

although I'm pretty sure this will make Romney drop it like a hot potato.

Looks like I have a new fave governor

I can't say as I blame him. STOUT FELLOW GUV!

For The Power of The Republic!

A state governor is a prominent figure

It is good for him to threaten to boycott because of his position as the executive of 1/50 states. It is probably also going to earn him a lot of favor with the proven majority of active republicans in Maine (aka RP supporters).

All delegates threatening the same I think would be a bad idea as they are not high visibility.
