As A Man Thinketh

So is he.

*****

Overview:
A very insightful 15 min. video on the *definitions on the wording between people, humans and animals. It can make all the difference in the world, between being alive and free or enslaved, or as history has shown, even dead.

Intent:
My intentions of this posting is not to induce argument(s) or promote any religious connotations. My intentions here are mainly an attempt to give people some food for thought and hopefully it can make us all a better people.

Intro:
It is said, "You cannot read a book by it's cover," and, as usual with my postings, if you're going by the title alone, this is not exactly what you think it is about as there are some other issues also involved.

Topic:
Why we need to be careful about ideologies that we believe or hold in our hearts.

Chioces make the man

I believe in each person there exists many natures, some are baser, and others more divine. We are blessed by our Creator with the free will to chart the path we wish with the choices we make every single day. Absolutely nothing can force someone who is truly free to perform an action that conflicts with their conscience, we choose to obey. I think the majority of people in this country at present look only to their own immediate safety and comfort while denying the cost. This is a base instinct that forgoes the use of noble reason and is more the action of an animal than a man. We can blame all the powers of Earth for forcing these choices upon us, but the final decision lies only with the individual. I think this only gets better when people decide that what is right becomes more important than what is convenient. History shows that virtuous behavior is rarely rewarded. Maybe someday in a culture that values virtue over excess, but that ain't us yet. So powerful men with dark ambition will continue to wave excess before us, and we gleefully comply like Pavlov's pooch.

I have always thought the actions of men the best interpreters of their thoughts.

Sorry. I think his argument on this point is bogus.

Whether the wording in the drug law referred to articles for the treatment (etc.) of "man or other animals" OR "man or animals" - that is, whether it included man in the animal kingdom or not, it would have no bearing on the spirit of the law and its implementation; it wouldn't add, detract, or otherwise change its meaning or intent - not to exclude the use of drugs for veterinarian purposes. Lucky he had the judge he did. That wording does nothing to infringe on his right to practice his religion. The real issue was more substantive - how his involvement could have been construed to have violated the law in the first place. I'm Christian, and I'm not offended by the wording. In science, depending on the context, one might refer to two "kingdoms," or three, or five, or six. The classifications are based on certain similar features. In one context, there are three kingdoms: mineral (without life), plant (alive but rooted in place), and animal (alive and having voluntary movement). That's not to say there isn't further differentiation. The wording itself acknowledges that man is a distinct entity.

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.
