Damning Video

Thanks for posting. I used it in an article I wrote earlier about Paul Ryan's smoke and mirror techniques.

For 1st time I have a feeling American TV victims will vote for:

The two good looking younger white guys over the black and older guy (that's all they really know about them).

Both will rob them of more freedom.

Unless we can somehow wake up the delegates!

his Herbert Hoover history is wrong

it's the actions of Hoover and FDR that made the depression last decades compared to two years when the govt did nothing.

Second, this comment he made really annoyed me, "I'm going to get on MY PLANE and go home to my 3 kids." what a turd...did he really say that?

It should be pointed out that

It should be pointed out that TARP was Bush's big spending Bill. It came in October of 2008. It's Bush's bill that Ryan felt compelled to vote in favor of and defend in this video.

It's interesting to juxtapose his arguments for TARP with his argument against Obama's economic recovery bill in Feb 2009 just a few short months later. This time he referred to it as a "spending Binge" and properly spoke out against it. Too bad he could only see the light when it was politically expedient.

It's all just partisan BS. There is nothing these politicians actually stand for on principle. They'll find a way to rationalize anything if it's the party consensus. Just like Harry Reid once supported auditing the Fed and demanded that raising the debt limit would weaken the country. Only a fool would believe that a politician will stand by his word.

There is only 1 who has earned that respect.

I Agree

You have made a very good point and it works down even to lower levels unfortunately. When I was at the TX state convention I was praising Ron Paul to an old timer and she made a complaint about Ron I hadn't heard before. She said, "But he doesn't always vote with us." I said, "What is more important, voting for the right thing, or voting with the party?" Then I walked off figuring it might be the best thing to do.

You know, for the "conservatives."

Great Proof

This is the V.P. that is supposed to get votes from the now co-opted TEA party? Try again! The powers that be must be working hard for Obama 2012.

TY MitchMitchMitch. The voting record clearly shows that

the talk doesn't meet the walk of Mr. Ryan.

Yup.

If this guy was a New Zealand politician, and talked his talk with a record like that, our political commentators would tear him limb from limb. He simply wouldn't survive in politics here.

Perhaps I could loan you guys Cam Slater and a few of our other great political attack dogs, and you could loan us Ron Paul to give our politicians a few remedial classes? :)

What do they mean when they

What do they mean when they say taxpayer's protection or that taxpayers will be repaid/refunded? They claim from time to time that TARP and the likes will turn a profit for the tax payers. I don't understand this.

Ok, so the banks got a huge amount of money from the taxpayers. GM got a huge amount of money from the taxpayers. Some of that money supposedly has been paid back to the treasury. What does government do with it? I've never received a check from the government that said I was being reimbursed for my share of the cost of bailing these institutions out. Perhaps if taxes were lowered I would consider that a repayment but they are going up.

The only thing I can figure is that this money goes into public works programs. If that is the case then the beneficiaries would more than likely be those on government assistance and they more than likely don't pay taxes.

Just another TBTF shill. Funny how financials use to have 8%

of the S&P profits and moved to 40%. As clearly stated yesterday these plans do nothing. Obamney won another one by letting Goldman off. Funny how First Lady's 600K health care job or REFCO, MF Global, or billions of Bain and these clown stole buying stuff others built using FED, pensions, sovereign wealth.. The real welfare recipient of phony capital... AND I AM THE BIGGEST FREE MARKET GUY OUT THERE.. There is no way Bain deserved billions in loans for consolidating because of special TBTF credit lines. All presented by forcing Americans to use specific mutual and pension funds. Then again the country has fallen down by the " good intentions" and forced economic choices cause by lack of savings and Crony credit economy..

His company sits back while Illisnois goes bankrupt....

What did you expect? The liberal banking establishment will do everything in their power, everything possible, to prevent Ron Paul from getting in there.

This is a seedy, failed, disastrous system known as the Federal Reserve and it isn't stopped by a President. A President is just a CEO to a larger, more obvious scam.

The only real way to end the Federal Reserve for good, is to simply disengage from all of it. And this below is the cartel on full display, the 65 interlocking corporations who relish theft.

Start disengaging from each and every company there, if you want the system to end. Verizon too. Remove it out of the banks.

"With all my heart"

The fact that he stumbled and needed to check his notes as those words were leaving his lips... WOW!

"I believe... (wait, what?) with all my heart" - Priceless!

I noticed that too. hilarious

I noticed that too. hilarious

I may be biased...

...because Paul Ryan is my congressman, but I'm hoping, really hoping, that he is a man moving in the right direction. To me this video illustrates a person caving under pressure and making one of many mistakes. For a man who follows Ayn Rand so closely, how can he ever justify a bail out? It just doesn't add up. I don't see him as corrupt--yet. He's no Ron Paul, that's for sure, but who amongst us really is? Even Ayn Rand didn't live up to her idealism, but does that make her invalid, or a bad person? It certainly doesn't take away from what she wrote.

Well, if they're doing corrupt things

then they're corrupt. NO MATTER WHO IT IS.

The person creates their actions from their character. We can judge their character ONLY from their actions, not our wishes.

Much of Rand's philosophy is correct, but her actions do not match. I accept the correct things and reject the corrupt things.

Paul Ryan? Obviously not striving for Liberty. He is also a corrupt hypocrite. This video shows that clearly.

I don't hate his guts or anything

And I know what you're saying. But I think he is just going to be window-dressing. Just think about how much power Joe Biden has in the general course of things.

It's almost like they picked Paul Ryan in order to give a veneer of being for limited gov't, but they aren't putting him a position to actually do any more than make decent speeches.

"This bill offends my principles, but I'm voting for it to conse

He totally contradicts himself. He says there is a lot of fear and panic in the markets and TARP would act to prevent that. Then he goes on to say how scared he is of economic collapse in order to fear-monger people into supporting the bill. So if panic was bad, wouldn't we keep our cool and let the market play out rather than acting as we did with the bailouts? As the Judge said, those who risked the most would lose the most, those who were conservative would retain the most. "This bill offends my principles, but I'm voting for it to conserve my principles." Are you for realz?

bailing out wallstreet banksters is stealing from mainstreet

17 trillion worth we know about and probably 10 times that we don't know about. How is stealing 80% of the wealth from mainstreet helping anyone but the theives? Hmmm? Tell us Mr Ryan!! The facts are Wallstreet and Washington are a corporatist cesspool

Government is supposed to protect our freedom, our property, our privacy, not invade it. Ron Paul 2007

@3:22 "if we fail to do the right thing, heaven help us"

Can't really disagree with that statement. Too bad he did the exact wrong thing.

You know what gets me?

I'm on Main Street, not Wall Street. I emailed and called my representatives begging them to not vote on this bill, but instead they responded that I was basically an idiot and that they knew what was best.

To this day I am enraged over this thing, and believe me I'm not forgetting who voted for this.

That's a no-go

That right there was the line in the sand for me, the whole TARP thing.

I appreciate that Paul Ryan has made some effort to decelerate the rate of government expansion, but, really, that is just tinkering around the edges. Anyway, as VP I don't anticipate Ryan to have much say or sway. They'll just bring him out when Romney needs to throw a bone to the limit government types.

I think the GOP establishment base

will find Ryan much more appealing than Romney.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of him in the coming days, if not weeks.

Romney ran out of things to say a long time ago. Ryan was a speechwriter and this is how he got started in politics. He's much more able when it comes to public speaking and imagine, he can even do it without a Teleprompter!

...this Bill offends my principles,

but I am going to vote for this Bill in order to preserve my principles..." - oxyMORON Paul Ryan

words you have never, nor will ever hear, uttered by Ron Paul!

Ryan is a double speaking, stooge for the bankers and the...

...military industrial complex.

He has no principles and if Ryan is a conservative, then I don't understand the meaning of the word.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

Paul Ryan is a Neocon

And always remember this:

The Neoconservative ideology teaches that they MUST (not can, nor should nor might want to ... but MUST) lie to the public because the general public is too stupid to accept their ideas as "right" (from the neocon perspective).

Mitt Romney's campaign is surrounded by neocons. It is no surprise that a neocon has been selected FOR him to be his running mate -- *IF* he wins the nomination in Tampa.

Dick Cheney Loves Paul Ryan

"I worship the ground Paul Ryan walks on," says Dick Cheney, former Director of the Council on Foriegn Relations, leading Neocon, and co-founder of Project for a New American Century (the leading suspects in the alternate theory of the 9/11 attacks).

Cheney's endorsement is all I need to know.
