Gun Ownership a Contagion/Disease?

This crap doesn't even shock me anymore... I'm sadly starting to expect it:

(The Blaze/AP) — Is a gun like a virus, tobacco or alcohol? According to “public health experts,“ who in the wake of recent mass shootings are calling for a fresh look at gun violence as a ”social disease,” it is.

What we need, they say, is a “public health approach” to the problem. Dr. Garen Wintemute of University of California, Davis claims it is no longer enough to tackle gun violence by focusing solely on the people doing the shooting.

Dr. Stephen Hargarten, who treated victims of the Sikh temple shootings at the emergency department he heads in Milwaukee, feels the same way.

“What I’m struggling with is, is this the new social norm?” he asked, before asserting: “This is what we’re going to have to live with if we have more personal access to firearms.”

I will one up them. This is

I will one up them.
This is like saying all bacteria are bad and we should get rid of them from the body because some of them are causing disease.
Say this happens. Oops, the problem doesnt go away because now you have bacteria that dont care about what the body wants coming in to cause harm. See, because you got rid of all the good bacteria, the bad ones are now free to roam around.
Oh sure, there is the body's defense system, but unfortunatly, that doesnt react until its too late.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

We need to accept

the fact that these people have an agenda and they will NEVER EVER stop pushing until they take control away from you. They hate the fact that you question them, and they would love to see you erased in any way possible. Know that they are out there and accept that you must face and crush them. Don't hesitate because they will never ever stop pushing until everything you've loved is gone.

Please allow me to expand that statement.

the fact that these people have an agenda and they will NEVER EVER stop pushing until they take control OF YOU away from you.

And the reason everything you've loved is a target is because they do what they do in service to fear.

So . . . in the name of love, which protects life, defend our constitution because it is the one social agreement that stands for freedom and protecting your control over yourself, your life and assuring that your descendants have a chance at knowing something as good or better than you have known.

Can we stop doing all the things we are doing that we do not want to do while still doing what we need to do?

This is a correct, focus observing, without saying it, the fact that the people doing the shooting have no effective mental health care available. This is because government in control of public health care refuses to follow laws assuring that the public has the treatments they need if they work with doctors.

The substance of the thread is linked below.
Public health doctors in this scan of a letter from 1999 show de facto approval for a proposed medical procedure providing a potential to address extreme, destructive behaviors. In this case drug and alcohol abuse.

In that letter the "answer from the state department of mental health" is promised in writing. Below is a scan of a freedom of information request that disappeared from the clerk of the boards records within 3 years. Is of course never responded to.

Uhh......

"What we need, they say, is a “public health approach” to the problem. Dr. Garen Wintemute of University of California, Davis claims it is no longer enough to tackle gun violence by focusing solely on the people doing the shooting."

"This is a correct...."

Since when have they focused solely on the people doing the shooting? Whenever it happens it's all about the firearm.

When someone commits a crime without a firearm it's about the person. But if a firearm is involved it's all about the firearm.

Not sure where you get what that supposed doctor said is correct.

Whenever it happens it's all about the firearm.

You are correct as far as the purpose of the information, how it is used.

I think we've made an error of semantics and generalization.

"Davis claims it is no longer enough to tackle gun violence by focusing solely on the people doing the shooting."

Mostly true, but the exception makes Ground Chuk's point valid. Better said would perhaps be to say; "The media is focusing on the EVENT, emotional reasoning is used to focus on the people shooting."

However, that focus excludes a review of the psychological issues which are a public health matter. This is exactly the kind of thing that "cognitive infiltration is designed to do. Mess up peoples efforts to understand by the use of cognitive distortions artifically made to look normal and acceptable.

Can we stop doing all the things we are doing that we do not want to do while still doing what we need to do?

If the gov't shoots us a few times will we build up immunity?

Or just die from lead poisoning?

Is the Constitution a social disease?

The Constitution promotes gun ownership to protect Liberty, so do socialists like Wintemute consider this document to be a social disease similar to gonorrhea and syphilis?
