Which states got screwed out of their delegates?Submitted by PzldPtrt on Sun, 08/12/2012 - 08:42
I'm not going to lie. Over the past couple of months, I've only been paying attention from a distance, after seeing first hand in MA that the system is completely rigged against the common person fighting against the establishment. I was a district organizer for District 8 in MA. While the GOP was well organized in our district, we still came within the margin of error considering provisional ballots for people who weren't on the list as being registered Republican in time (their candidates had around 125 votes, ours had around 120, and there were 9 provisional ballots for people who may or may not have been registered in time...we eventually proved that at least a handful had been). Alas, despite the establishment's promises, those votes were never counted. We would have likely won 2 of the 3 spots for our district, which would have upped our total delegates in MA to 18 of the 27 total. There were provisional ballots in 2 other districts as well.
At the end of the day, the MA GOP tried to make ALL of our delegates sign an affidavit stating that they'd vote for Romney at the convention. Some did, some didn't, but despite that, and despite the fact that there's nothing in the rules stating that anyone has to sign an affidavit, it's my understanding that all of our delegates were disqualified and replaced with official Romney delegates (some who ran, some who didn't).
Long story/long question short...I see that similar things have been happening in LA and ME as well. Did they lose ALL of their delegates too? Have other states lost theirs as well? Are there going to be ANY representatives of liberty/voices of dissent at the convention?
I am so disgusted at the state of the republic and the fact that the system is completely corrupt that I don't know what to do or where to turn anymore. Our government is owned and run by psychopaths from top to bottom and in every branch.
