Benton: ‘Dr. Paul will not seek to be nominated from the floor.’

[ Tampa Bay Online: ] - Ron Paul has announced he'll seek a positive, non-confrontational stance from his campaign during the convention, and even will snub some gatherings planned by supporters because his campaign isn't controlling them.

Paul campaign chairman Jesse Benton wouldn't discuss negotiations between the two camps or the timing of [Rand] Paul's speech, but said, "We have been told that it will be a very prominent time." Benton said by email that Ron Paul is not expected to speak, but that Romney representatives "are working with us (on) other ways to recognize and honor Ron at the convention.

"Dr. Paul will not seek to be nominated from the floor," he added.

Tensions are high.

This is for everybody, and not directed at you or the person above you. Let's all put our efforts into working TOGETHER. We can not quit with only 2 weeks left.

There are many things that you can do right from your chair. Are you getting on forums and posting links? Are you trying to have conversations on other forums with other folks, regardless of party?

Spread the truth. Spread what has been happening. Inform others and provide them with links.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

You are absolutely right. I didn't pick the fight with the copy and paste troll.

I didn't have the time off to be a delegate, so I went and became a PCP in my county.

See you all at the rally in Tampa.

Onward !!!

See you in Tampa.

Too clever by half

Then why has Wead been milking us for dough by stressing the importance of getting the five states behind us? That was so Ron could be nominated. Now they're saying they're not doing that, though they are keeping the money.

I don't believe and have never believed it makes sense to try to nominate Dr. Paul via the delegates. Even if it worked, he would be the enemy of the entire party machine. What I'm saying is that this new plan is the opposite of what the campaign sold to us.

No this is exactly what they sold us on.

I suppose you supported a more traditional campaign strategy of "play their game till you lose". It is curious you oppose the only plan or strategy with the potential to win.

I have

suspected this for some time. I don't much like Rand, although he is better then most politicians, that's not hard to do,and he is not the man his father is. I am afraid that the Ron Paul Rally in the Sundome is going to turn into a Romney fest and I have changed my mind about going. I don't want to hear Jesse Benton or Rand Paul try and convince us to vote for Romney. I think I would cry, so I'm staying home.

Ron Paul, if anything, is consistent and

I don't think that the Paul's will turn it into a Romney-ama anything. This is Ron Paul's moment. Ron Paul is not a hypocrite. I don't think Ron Paul will allow a flip-flop about Romney-ama in his show. I don't think the delegates would accept the Paul's trying to make peace with the RNC and Romney-ama. To do so would invite an embarrassing moment for the good Doctor.

His insiders might be trying to placate the RNC and Romney-ama but I don't think Dr. Paul will have anything to do with it. He wouldn't disappoint those who will be carrying his teachings and principles forward after the convention. I am a Ron Paul Precinct Delegate in Michigan and we are meeting next week to decide what we are going to do about the party in our county and the state. This is going on across the country. The Paul-ites aren't sitting on their hands.

It only takes one to KEEP AMERICANS FREE. Know your duties & rights as a juror. Stop the unconstitutional conviction of innocents in federal custody. The Fully Informed Jury CALL 1-800-TEL-JURY www.fija.org IMMEDIATELY if not sooner. It's that important.

I think people should go...

just to show solidarity for Ron Paul and the Liberty Movement. As many people as possible should go to both events.

If Rand and the others give a "Give the Mittster a chance" speech, I think it will open everyone's eyes that much wider. If there are bad intentions, let them be revealed early on. Sooner is better than later.

Well said

All warfare is DECEPTION

SNEAKY SNEAKY FOLKS. Jiu Jitsu is all about using leverage and technique to outsmart and outmaneuver your opponent; once you have them in a choke, no matter how strong they are, they can't escape.

Ron Paul is playing possum while simultaneously setting up a lethal rearnaked choke.

Checkmate is coming in less than 7 moves...

Or so I'm hoping!

And if Ron Paul doesn't get nominated at the Convention, the fight for Liberty starts the next morning.

What is your evidence for this?

So Benton throws you under the bus for the 100th time and it's still a "Secret Plan"? When will it be "Benton deceived us the whole time with the misleading emails about how they were going to go the delegate route, and needed more money, &c.?"

I agree with you, where's the evidence?

I'm getting sick and tired of this on again off again campaign strategy, and those who think there's secret plan.

There is NO secret plan folks; we've all been out there on our own for some time now!

And I might say we've done one heck of a job too!

The Winds of Change!

I try and read between the lines

"Ron Paul will not SEEK nomination", this is the key word here. He doesn't have to seek shit, he will be nominated whether he likes it or not.

I think that's what RP is

I think that's what RP is hoping for. He's not expecting to be nominated, but I think he reckons that the most he can do to let his delegates have the most influence, is to let the Romney campaign focus on him. The game is rigged and if you try to fight it with force, not only will they fight back harder, they'll spin it in a way to make you seem like the bad guy.

Bottomline, if a revolution must take place at Tampa, it has to come organically through supporters and not from the campaign. In the end, Tampa will be about the delegates. THEY have all the power. The power to succeed or fail is in their hands and not the campaign. It matters little even if RP did pursue nomination, since the delegates are the ones who are fighting.

I agree with you on that. Benton only stated that Dr. Paul was not seeking it, not that his delegates would not seek it.

Benton's an idiot

First of all, nominations come from the delegates. All Paul could do would be to not accept the nomination, which is possible I suppose.

I think Ron Paul and Benton are both too trusting of the Romney people. They don't see them for the evil, anti-freedom, new-world-order-worshipping, pieces of camel dung we know they are.

Nominated from the floor

I'm confused..... why ?? Would Ron paul say this, doesn't make sense to me. Any ideas guys and gals ?

this is a throw off

Benten os throwing everyone off-
something HUGE is coming in Tampa and we all need to stay positive- RP is!!

For the last time, there is no secret plan

Will all the Secret Plan people apologize to the rest of us when it turns out there was no secret plan, and that Benton really is the GOP tool everyone close to him says he is?

Yes, No secrets

Nothing huge planned for Tampa. Nothing. I wish you guys holding out hope for a surprise will get it through your heads:

Whatever super thing happens, I still want to tell Jesse to ESAD.

Jesse played a large part in de-balling the Ron Paul R3volution.

ESAD, never read that before.

Very good expression, shrunk down. You echo my thoughts for a good activity for Benton.
