Fears that federal authorities are preparing for mass civil unrest have increased after it was revealed that the Department of Homeland Security is planning to buy a further 750 million rounds of ammo in addition to the 450 million rounds of hollow point bullets already purchased earlier this year.
A solicitation originally issued by the DHS in April but updated on Friday calls on suppliers to provide a plethora of different types of ammunition, including 357 mag rounds that are able to penetrate walls.

The Department of Homeland Security has made news in the past few weeks with the revelations that they have purchased up to 650 million rounds of .40 caliber hollow point ammunition.
Now, despite ignoring requests as to why they need that much ammo, they have moved forward and purchased an unknown amount of bullet resistant booths to possibly be stationed at unannounced checkpoints throughout the country.
A press release from the company that supplied the booths bragged about the sale:

Shelters Direct provided the Department of Homeland Security with this 4×13 Steel UL 752 Level 3 Bullet Resistant Booth.
This guard building features a standing seam hip roof, a thru-wall HVAC unit, (2) UL 752 BR Level 3 sliding doors, UL 752 Bullet Resistant Level 3 glass and a Low]E coating.
These booths seem destined to be used at checkpoints throughout the country as DHS and other government agencies continue their full scale takeover of America.
As we have heavily reported in the last few weeks, numerous government agencies have went on an ammo buying spree, with the total amount reaching well over 700 million rounds.

Maybe we should all stock up more too.
I would like to see freedom restored peacefully. This would require elimination of about 90% of the federal government and a significant reduction at the state and local level also.
Whether this happens or not is a big question, but if it doesn't happen peacefully, eventually there will be violence, simply because eventually the pain and suffering from the current system of plunder and control will become so great as to exceed any pain that people think will come from revolting.

The first thing that comes to mind is:
They are using our money to buy up the market so there is none left for us.
Then when the dung hits the rotary oscillator, they can even grab up our weapons and use them against us because they will have the ammo to do it with.
Not only should a person make sure they are stocked up on what they feel they need and want, but perhaps we should all have stock in the manufacturers in order to recoup some of what is being stolen from us.
I can see why an ammo maker might bid this, but they should be ashamed of themselves for their participation.

calls for 7.62x39, .357 Mag, 30-06 Springfield, as well as the more ubiquitous calibers such as .223 Remington, .308 Winchester, and .40 S&W.
Why would they want calibers such as 7.62x39 Russian, .357 Mag, 30-06 Springfield? There is no way DHS fields weapons chambered for these calibers. Leads one to think...
Interestingly enough, there is no request for .300 Winchester Magnum, 7mm WSM or any of the higher energy [overbore] rifle rounds, such as .338 Lapua.
Because that is what the SHTF people are buying.
Call it a preemptive strike.. the ole "cut them off at the pass" or the "disrupting lines of supply".
Stock up now before the price crunch hits. Buy ALLLLL that you can.

Hmm, good question. Ollie North once conducted an off the books war out of the White House basement. Maybe rebels in places like Syria have a use for such calibers for similar operations. This would reduce the necessity for all those tacky confrontational requests with Congress. The good news is this order suggests that these bullets are not intended for domestic use.
