Jet Skier Breaks Through JFK Airport's $100 Million Security System

Yahoo News - A man whose jet ski failed him in New York's Jamaica Bay swam to John F. Kennedy airport, where he was easily able to penetrate the airport $100 million, state-of-the art security system.

Daniel Casillo, 31, was able to swim up to and enter the airport grounds on Friday night, past an intricate system of motion sensors and closed-circuit cameras designed to to safeguard against terrorists, authorities said. "I think he should be given dinner and a bottle of champagne for showing us our faults," said Nicholas Casale, an NYPD veteran and former MTA deputy security director for counterterrorism.

Instead, Casillo was arrested after the incredible adventure that has stunned security officials.

Remember though all those pat downs and radiation screenings are making us safer....(Sarcastic tone intended)

bumping . . .

this doesn't seem to be the first (or last, sadly) situation where people have needed help and have ended up getting arrested--

it seems to be happening more and more.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

And these people want to run our health care system...

What a freaking joke. He swam 3 miles in a bright yellow vest to JFK... then waltzed across 1/2 miles of runway then jumped a fence and wasn't even flagged until he literally walked up to the gestapo for help.

Vegas casinos can find a card counter among the millions that roam around.... The government can't find the only guy in a bright yellow vest for miles after spending 100 million. WTF

Tools of war are not always obvious. The worst weapon is an idea planted in the mind of man. Prejudices can kill, suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has an everlasting fallout all of its own.

He did NOT "break through",

He did NOT "break through", he merely waltzed in wearing a bright yellow life vest! If only everyone else could see the government for the joke they are!

Airport security is such a

Airport security is such a damn joke.

We are having people accidentally wander into airports, walk across 2 runways and then into the terminal dripping wet and with a bright yellow life jacket. But they filed criminal charges against this guy, so I feel much safer now.

What would be hilarious:

A few people put life jackets and flippers in their carry-on luggage and then book a flight out of JFK and arrive early. Then go into the bathroom and put on the jacket and flippers, douse themselves with water and then just wander though the airport. (this would all be legal)

I like one of the top

I like one of the top comments. They didnt arrest him for trespassing, they arrested him for making them all look like idiots.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

I use Blue Wave, but don't expect one of THEIR silly taglines.

Ban watercrafts.

Problem solved.

What is outrageous is that they arrested him for trespass.

What idiots.

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

This guy is obviously not a terrorist, and certainly did not have any criminal intent whatsoever. Arrests are now a knee-jerk reaction among government lackeys as they are currently so easy to perform. No evidence is needed! If a citizen annoys you, (i.e. he points out the flaws in your useless, unnecessary, overpriced security device) you can just have him carted off by stormtroopers.
