Are you sure he won't get
Are you sure he won't get nominated? Was reading about the one convention where James K. Polk was nominated (I think it was Polk) and he wasn't even running. Can they do that? I'm not really worried; just wondering.
Lyndon Johnson was Afraid of the Same Thing
Lyndon Johnson was afraid of the same thing with Bobby Kennedy. So they did the Nomination/Election on Thursady and then let Bobby do the Keynote on Friday after Lyndon Johnson had it the nomination formalized.

Governor Wrecking Ball
In New Jersey some call him "Governor wrecking ball". I don't understand the fascination Republicans have with Christie, maybe its because he can come across rude and confrontational. We would never hear Ron Paul saying to a constituent "are you stupid? are you stupid?" or "Its none of your business". RP is way too cool and professional for remarks like that.
