Check in with your face: "Facedeals" scans your face to customize deals

“Check in with your face” is the motto a U.S. marketing company is using to preface its new face scan deal-linking technology.

Redpepper, out of Nashville, TN, has developed technology that says it will save you money, however, the methods engaged are much more intrusive than your standard grocery store coupon.

The process starts when a “Facedeals” camera, mounted at a venue’s front door, scans and matches your face’s likeness to your Facebook profile, generating customized deals for your area according to your “likes.”

Umm ... does Facebook disclose this to their members?

All the more reason to tell Facebook to f**k off.

Wow that's creepy

All your data are belong to us.

Sounds like a great marketing

Sounds like a great marketing device that will help people learn about products they might be interested in buying to better their standards of living!! Excellent idea.

Just keep it out of the government's hands and I'm fine with it.

"You must be frank with the world; frankness is the child of honesty and courage...Never do anything wrong to make a friend or keep one...Above all do not appear to others what you are not" - Robert E. Lee, CSA

uh, no?

data can be stolen. security is always an issue. i can't allow large amount of data of myself to be stored with a business then have to look out constantly for hackers breaking into their system, because when they do, other facial-feature related securities may be at risk. they have to at least inform their customers that by entering their store, they are consenting to this data storage. if they do it without customer consent, i see problems both legal and ethical.

so if they see all our likes on FB

indicate they should open up a Ron Paul store, organic seed stores, monsanto free grocery stores....gold currency accepting stores, banks without usury loans, would they do it? lol

Good point

But Big Brother government will not miss the opportunity to jump on board with this.
