Tampa Tribune: "Romney's Greatest Fear" is Ron Paul Nomination.

Weeks after it was widely reported in the media that Ron Paul had lost his "last chance" to be eligible for the Republican nomination at the Nebraska state convention, Tampa Bay Online, the online subsidiary of the Tampa Tribune, has reported that a movement to nominate Ron Paul at the upcoming Republican National Convention may be "Romney's greatest fear."

"Romney's greatest fear could be a movement to nominate Paul from the floor of the convention, which could happen if five state delegations line up behind him."

This follows up a report in The New American in May which said of Paul's state-by-state delegate strategy:

"The Republican Establishment is afraid of Ron Paul and events that took place at party nominating conventions from Maine to Alaska proved that it’s for good reason."

Although major media outlets reported last month that Paul's prospects for eligibility for nomination "ended" in Nebraska, with Paul failing to secure pluralities in at least five states, a count of Paul's victories show Nevada, Maine, Minnesota, Louisiana, Iowa, Washington, Colorado, and Missouri in Paul's column. Louisiana is in a legal battle and the Maine delegation is in a fight with the state GOP chairman. Also possibly in Paul's column, but locked in political combat, are Oklahoma, and Oregon.

....

Paul campaign spokesman Jesse Benton told the Tampa Tribune reporter that "Dr. Paul will not seek to be nominated from the floor," language which is often intended to deflect speculation as to a candidate's intentions, without committing to a course. Paul campaign spokesman Jesse Benton told the Tampa Tribune reporter that "Dr. Paul will not seek to be nominated from the floor," language which is often intended to deflect speculation as to a candidate's intentions, without committing to a course. Moreover, a recent email to Paul supporters from the campaign indicates that Dr. Paul is still very much in the race, saying: "Ron Paul’s number-one goal for the RNC is making sure his delegates and alternates who deserve to be seated in Tampa are credentialed." .. As a delegate

to the National Convention I will be talking this up down there. Oh hell yes lets nominate him from the floor by all means necessary. Does any one think the Republican Party is playing fair? If you do then sink your teeth into this. There will be a rally at the Sun Dome for Ron Paul. We had buses scheduled to pick us up at out motel in order to attend this rally. So what does the GA Republican Party do? They schedule a mandatory meeting for 11:00 am and the rally starts at 12 noon. Now after the rally we were to board Ron Paul buses and go to Tropicana Field to meet up with all Delegates. There would be thousands cheering the Ron Paul buses on in route. We apply with the RNC for bus passes. They never even got back to us so now that is out the window. The Republican Party is the most corrupt scumbag organization on planet earth. If you think not then you are void a brain.

I think the Democratic Party is worse

Congratulations and THANK YOU for being a national delegate for Ron Paul. CA lost to Romney, so none of Ron Paul National Delegates, like me, are going to Tampa to nominate Ron Paul, unfortunately. Our Sec of State already has Romney as THE GOP Nominee and has not answered my query as to how that happened. Romney's campaign is based out of CA BTW.

Anyways, my GOP central committee knows I am a Ron Paul national delegate (Sec of State posted all our names), so what does my committee do? Changes our meeting to SATURDAY the 25TH. I live pretty far from an airport, so even if I drove like a bat out of hell to get to an airport to go to Tampa, I would be arriving late.

We are supposed to have a proposition on the agenda, I had them, at the last meeting, remove from New Business to agenda, for a vote. My bet is they either would have dropped it, or planned on my not being there, and stacked the committee to vote for it while I was gone.

As it is, I'm thinking of going to the meeting and telling them I have a plane to catch, just to keep them there, as they try to drag out the meeting to keep me there. LOL I don't know.

Still, I really don't think the GOP is more corrupt than the Democratic Party. I think the plan is for Romney to take the nomination, Obama to win, the GOP go bankrupt, and the Democratic Party to become the party to rule us all (like communist China's Communist party) in a NWO/global government.

I hope, and pray, that you have a safe and wonderful trip to Tampa, and that solutions prevail, that Ron Paul wins the nomination, and you come home victorious!!! Again, I congratulate you, and THANK YOU for doing what Ron Paul asked all of us to do. God Bless YOU.

Thanks for the kind reply

Up front my a** does not scare easy. I did one tour in Vietnam, 13 months and 6 months in the Congo. I have already been scared and these Republican talking heads are in for one freaking rude surprise when it comes to me. Lets just get down right bulldog mean down there.

Well then, lets make his worst nightmare true, shall we!!!

Well then ladies and gentlemen, lets make this sellout's worst nightmare come true!

It's not enough he is a democrat, but he also had to assume himself as the leader of the GOP. It really is time to dump Romney into the harbor.

File the RICO suit charges against each one who broke the law, put them all on Camera. Lets get to it, march on and march right in.

Everyone to Florida, flood the entire area and make it count.

Anyone read the comments of that article?!!

That Conservative lady is a few short of a full stack.

With all the evidence replied to ALL her posts, she just continues to explain that Ron Paul has no chance, and All republicans should drink the kool-aid and vote for Mitt!?

THIS is why we have a problem with this movement in opening the minds and hearts of not just republicans, but ALL voters! They think it's only about beating obama, which is the real empowerment of the establishment, in itself!

That or this lady is literally retarded!

Viva la R3VOLution!!!

Yeah....

She doesn't seem to understand that RP is a republican and it would be either Romney OR RP on the ballot for the GOP..she thinks he's an indy or something. Typical low-information voter and thick-headed neocon.

Didn't Paul already state he

Didn't Paul already state he would not be seeking the nomination?

He doesn't have to "seek" it.

That's what the delegates are for. The supporters who will turn out in great numbers on the streets of Tampa are the necessary icing on the cake.

Look for that nomination to come from the floor of the convention.

"Not seeking" is different from "will not accept"

This is typical campaign diplomacy to position Dr. Paul as a team player, to smooth the feathers of Romney supporters. Far too much has been made of this statement. More important is the media admitting that RP could be nominated.

In my estimation,

Romney's greatest fear is what will be done to him if he doesn't do as he's told.

Look at the comments below the article!

Those two broads represent MY biggest fear: Ignorance!

Unfortunately, that's what we're up against all over this country.

Thanks to the DPer and lurkers who posted comments there for people with normal brains to comprehend. It boggles the mind just how "out of it" those two women are, even when they are being spoonfed all the evidence any rational person would need to make them stop and think!

(That article must have struck a chord here, too. Some people actually put down their copies of I Libertine and jumped on here trying to emulate the author, Frederick Ewing, with the comments they've posted below.)

No, not really...

There's no way either Democrat or Republican leadership would allow Dr. Paul to take the GOP nomination, much less the Presidency. If Ron Paul somehow does get the GOP nomination, he'll probably be accused of stealing the nomination. If he won the presidency, he'd be accused of voter fraud. If he survives a Supreme Court challenge and immediate impeachment, he'll probably be assassinated, probably by a "terrorist" so to redirect our attention to that "threat" and affirm support of another witch-hunt.

This isn't a conspiracy theory: we have real and clear enemies all around us.

Just who gives

a big fat rats rear end. I say we make them do it. No free ride here. What do you want us to do just lie down and play dead? Not going to happen this time around.

Naw. The Paul team has laid down for good.

What a blown opportunity. The Paul team had some other mystery objective other than fighting tooth and nail for Ron Paul. I think Jesse Benton is all too happy to leave the Ron Paul team and move on to Rand Paul. After all, Rand is now a Washington insider who'll probably be around a while.

They can law down if they like

but the problem is will the delegates lay down. I don't think so. Too much time and money invested for me to go down there and play Mr. nice guy. I have corresponding with other Delegates/Alternates and we are all in agreement, we will not lay down in Tampa. This is going to be a fight to the end and the Republican Party best get ready for it.

Can anyone tell me, do we

Can anyone tell me, do we really stand a chance at this point? I don't mean that "technically" he could win, but do we REALLY have a chance of Dr Paul winning the nomination? I'm just sick with worry at this point.

It Doesn't Matter "If We Stand A Chance..."

So many people have made this point during the entire election process. People said to me "Romney basically is gonna win anyways... The news said that Romney has already won... Why are you still talking about Ron Paul??? Why waste your time, energy, and emotion trying to tell me about Ron Paul? Why waste our time talking about liberty and the Constitution???"

These are things that people have said to me. As if we were just watching "A Lakers game," and "the Lakers basically won, why keep watching??? Turn off the tv, we already know who's gonna win. All that matters is who wins..."

This is shallow. This misses the point of HAVING THOUGHTS AT ALL. If you have ideas that are important to you, will you "turn off the tv" so to speak when you know "who's gonna win?"

If you were fighting for abortion laws, and the news reported "There's basically no way you will win, you've already lost this episode..." Would you STOP CARING about the ideas you were DEDICATED TO?

Just to have to explain this to my fellow citizens is a failure and I am ashamed.

Study the truth, support what you believe, and that's it... There is no "loser or winner," just IDEAS.

You ARE YOUR IDEAS. You are a walking billboard for your ideas. If you believe something is right and you have good reasons to defend, even if you are in a STRONG MINORITY, SPEAK UP! Sell your ideas and your reasons. That is why we are alive.

It matters to me. That is why

It matters to me. That is why I asked. I am getting discouraged and was looking for some kind of affirmation one way or the other so I can relax a little. That's what people do with friends. I assumed that my fellow Liberty Movement compatriots were sort of like friends. So yes, it does matter, to me.

In a way it matters

and in a way it does not. Sure we all want him to win but when some one comes up to me and says, "he does not have a chance" that does not cause me to throw in the towel. Just like being in a fox hole with another person with the enemy bearing down on you. Now which one do you want. Do you want a guy in that fox hole with you who throws up his hands and cries we are going to die and we do not have a chance or do you want a guy who says, "well I may die but it is not going to be without a fight". Not hard for me to figure that one out. I may die but I am not going to go down without a fight. Same way with this, we may loose but I am going to fight like a bulldog until the very end. Who knows, if the two guys in the foxhole bow up in the back they might just come out alive. But there is one thing for sure if they throw up their hands then they are dead for sure. So stop worrying about if he has a chance or not and just do your job and help anyway you can. That will make a huge difference in the end. You have delegates out there that have already gone through hell, who will spend a ton of money they do not have and who will go through hell in Tampa. Give them your support and let's see where we end up. It is not about winning it is about the fight. I once got in a fight with this big old dude. He beat the living crap out of me but he had it to do. I did not lay down. Guess what? I may have got the crap whipped out of me but I gained a lot of respect from him and my friends.

Of course he has a chance, legally the convention

can go any way it wants. It is an uphill battle but we knew that from the start. Going against big money always is.

You may as well have asked the Egyptians or Tunesians if they "had a chance." A lot of people would have said no. But the power of Man's yearning to to be free has always surprised people.

All you need to do is make sure you can say you were THERE, FIGHTING, on "St. Crispin's Day." 1,000 English, 10,000 French. They cut through them like a hot knife through butter.

Thank you for the answer. I

Thank you for the answer. I do hope that somehow Dr Paul pulls this off. I recognize that either way, we have already won, but I still want Dr Paul to win.

No

Not a chance. I guarantee that Romney will be the nominee.

Wow! You get down votes, but

Wow! You get down votes, but no one is willing to suggest that Dr Paul still has a chance. I guess that answers my question about what people think of his chances. Thanks for your honesty when you knew it wouldn't go over well here.

BAZZA MAC

Wanted to give you all some

Wanted to give you all some hope.....

A facebook friend and fellow Ron Paul supporter and Liberty Lover who also lives in Clark county had this to say after attending a party tonight for the RON Paul delegates going to Tampa......so something is BREWING and don't let anyone tell you the DOC has thrown in the towel...NOT TRUE.....

" I'm a NV State Delegate & a really good person:D As for Ron NOT wanting to be President.. Not tru, Cynthia, (in our Group of Delegates we got together with at a Washoe CO Send off Party tonite), actually talked to Carol Paul today. She speaks with ther regularly & Ron Paul is NOT throwing in the towel. He is having a big rally in Tampa in fact. Rand is regretting his 'endorsement' which was really tossing his hat in the ring 4 the VP slot... which was a big mistake on his part."
