A CONSERVATIVE candidate wanted in Tampa. Someone that CAN beat Obama

http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/a-conservative-candidate...

I would like to see a conservative candidate nominated in Tampa.
A conservative candidate with these sort of credentials.
A conservative candidate that will appeal to Independent voters. They are the ones who will decide this election, not Republicans or Democrats.
Demographics.
Independents 40%, Democrats 33%, Republicans 27%.
The Republicans are in the minority, a sizeable majority of Independents are required in order for Republicans to win.

1. A GOP nominee who can beat Obama in November.
A GOP nominee that can take a majority of Independents and take Democrats away from Obama too.
Romney is going to lose to Obama and lose badly.
Tight Senate and House races will also be lost.
Hundreds of other tight races for all sorts of other offices will also be lost, when they can otherwise be won without Romney.

Why Romney won't win in a lot more detail.
http://ian56.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/paul-ryans-effect-on-ele...

In order to win against Obama, the Republican Party needs a candidate that will appeal to Independent voters.
Romney definitely does not do that, so despite the economic situation, Romney is losing and losing very badly in swing states.
Obama has more or loss got it sewn up, with Paul Ryan chosen as VP.
Ryan will turn off the Independents even more.Romney has given up on winning with his choice of VP, e.g. he could have chosen Rubio to take Florida.
Paul Ryan does nothing to help win large swing states like Florida and Ohio.
In Florida, Ryan will definitely have a negative effect.
Ryan will have a negative effect on all states, except those already strongly Republican.
Picking Ryan is a panic move by Romney to try and shore up his base to limit the scale of his losses.
It does nothing to try and gain states from where he is now.
I think that picking Ryan will turn out to be a worse move for Romney, than McCain's pick of Palin.
It is basically Romney's suicide note, he has given up on trying to win, just lose less badly by shoring up his base.

Picking Ryan just confirms my prediction of Obama 347, Romney 191.
I don't think it is bad enough to make it worse, except in the differential of percentage vote.
It certainly does not make Romney's loss any less.

2. A GOP nominee who wants to gradually reduce Federal income tax to ZERO.
WSJ's Stehen Moore says it can be done (gradually over a period of time) and "would be the biggest job creator in history".

3. A GOP nominee who would actually CUT Federal spending, not just slightly slow the rate of growth of spending.
I want to see cuts of $1tn in the first year and a balanced budget by the end of their first term.

‎4. A candidate, with a consistent track record of supporting the Constitution.

‎5. A candidate who has demonstrated a knowledge of economics, who understands how booms and busts happen so he can prevent them.

‎6. A candidate who would increase trade, who would make more friends for America.

7. A candidate who would not sacrifice welfare payments for the sake of military spending.

8. A candidate who would immediately start to tackle the rampant corruption endemic in Washington DC.
A President can wield the veto to eliminate all those lines of Pork, discreetly hidden in bills.
Bridge to Nowhere - no more.
Subsidies for Nascar? No way.
The list of Pork passing through DC is endless. It can be stopped.

9. Bank fraud
A candidate that would tackle the numerous cases of banking fraud.
Why have no bankers been jailed for the widespread mortgage fraud?

10. A candidate that can project a positive message and vision.
Let's take this country BACK to what made it GREAT

HOW did America turn from a land of optimism & the greatest creditor on Earth, turn into a nation of frightened sheep loaded with debt? Let's turn it BACK.

The Republicans are FRIGHTENED of the Democrats and the Democrats are FRIGHTENED of the Republicans. Let's join together and unite under the Constitution for the United States.

Why not go BACK to a time when US was full of optimism & opportunity & wealth? Why NOT go back to the Constitution for the United States?

Why did the spirit of enterprise and we can do ANYTHING get replaced in America by sheep cowered by FEAR and debt?

WHY do American's continue to re-elect the same members of Congress that have an 11% approval rating? Why NOT kick them OUT? Why not take the whip (veto) to them and the mountains of Pork?

Why don't Americans stop being supporters of Republican or Democrat parties and go back to being supporters of AMERICA and the CONSTITUTION? Let's make America GREAT.

11) A candidate that is not pro mandate.
Romney is and always has been pro mandate.
Romney care is Mitt;s signature piece of legislation whilst Massachusetts Governor. He is PROUD of it and urged Obama to adopt it at the national level in 2009.

http://directorblue.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/simply-delightful...
N.B. Romneycare is 50% funded by non Massachusetts taxpayers. Do people like paying other peoples bills.

Romney defended Romneycare from Santorum's attacks during the nomination debates.

Romney appointed Mike Leavitt as his head of transition. Leavitt makes money from healthcare exchanges, which ride on the back of healthcare mandates.

Romney will NEVER repeal Obamacare. He will do some minor tweaks.
His own aide so on national TV.

12) I want a candidate that is pro life.
Romney is not very convincing and has flip flopped a number of times on this issue.
Running for Ma Gov he said he was for Roe vs Wade.

Now this is what we need, it

Now this is what we need, it doesnt argue that they should go for Paul, it argues that Romney and Obama are not what we need. This will allow people to become more open to another choice(Paul) without actually thinking they are going to end up supporting him.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

pretty sure Americans are fed up

with the corporatist cesspool of Dems and Repugs and their slimey race to the bottom.. This could have been the year for a bullmoose type win?

I'll vote Libetarian on principle alone if the GOP is too dumb to nominate Ron

Government is supposed to protect our freedom, our property, our privacy, not invade it. Ron Paul 2007

IAN you are the man. Patriots across RP Nation heed the call. Post this stuff far and wide. Now is the time to make a difference. All signs show we are WINNING. Push on! Hammer Down. Whoot!!!

Pretty cool he mentions

DP and Ron Paul forums. I wouldn't think he would do that.

Ian - GREAT WORK!! I'll spread your link around!

Can you Imagine...

If we had that statement: "A CONSERVATIVE candidate wanted in Tampa. Someone that CAN beat Obama." plastered all over Tampa in the next two weeks - home made signs, posters, billboards everywhere?!

DO THIS!!!!!

This is OUTSTANDING!

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

If you want to tweet or FB this to a non Ron Paul audience

Please do not do it from here.

Use the blog link instead.
Otherwise it will not have any effect.

Very good point.

Very good point.

We already have that candidate...

his name is Ron Paul - or was that the point?

That was EXACTLY the point - to not mention his name

GOP voters and delegates have been told that he is a nutter for 20 years.
As soon as they hear his name they switch off.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Sooooo sorry!

I would delete it, but it's already been replied to...

However, don't you think, though, that at some point Ron Paul's name needs to be dropped in there...or else they'll read this and then walk away scratching their heads thinking... "Gee, that makes a lot of sense...if only we had someone like that that we could nominate..."

It's ok - no damage done.

You can't use a daily paul link to reach GOP people (non Ron Paul).
Their first reaction seeing daily paul will be to switch off (the overwhelming majority).

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

I agree...

if you're going to share it (and I think it is definitely worth sharing)...do it from the blog..

Thanks for taking the time to put this together...you did a great job. :)

Yep his name needs to be mentioned at some point

but probably only after GOP ppl have run thru a list of names and decided it's not any of them.
