Fear of Assassination

I do not believe Ron Paul fears anything including assassination. I do not believe he fears for his family. He sees the long view and realizes nothing changes until fearless men take a stand, so STAND we must.

You don't get to the heart of truth and walk in it like he has and not have dealt with fear in your life. He is a man of faith and is faithful to his calling. Cautious, yes, but never fearful!

I have faced the possibility of being taken out if I did not bend, but like Ron Paul, with children and grandchildren whose character is being formed by my actions, there is no hesitation..no room for compromise.

"Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?" Is it? Ron Paul has answered that question...have you? The success of the liberty movement depends on our answer to this question posed by Patrick Henry over 200 years ago..

Moratorium On Slamming Ron Paul/Campaign?

While I know there is a lot of frustration and questions among the Paul faithful right now - as many on this thread have pointed out - WE DO NOT KNOW what is going on with the campaign.

What we do know is there is a silence that is of ear bleed volume - with so many straining to hear something/anything from Ron Paul.

As a thought, what are the chances we can hold out a couple of more weeks - see what happens in Tampa - cheer on our Patriot Delegates - hope for the biggest coup in RNC history - then celebrate together?

In the meantime - I am trying to bite my "tongue" (fingers) and not go negative. We don't know who all reads our posts - and I don't want to be the cause of someone losing their hope - not now.

Ron Paul ducked and ran away

At the height of his popularity, and while drawing 7000+ sized crowds on the Campaign trail, and while he actually started to win some States -- Ron Paul turned into a coward, and ducked and ran far away from the race.

He did everything he could to quell any public rebellion against Romney (and the Establishment).

I agree that he was not afraid of assassination. What he was afraid of was anything close to resembling a real RNC Convention Floor Fight, or real Democracy (or a real Revolution) in action. Ron Paul didn't want that. He didn't want his name to be even be suggested at the Convention as a possible nomineee at anytime. He and Rand have completely lined-up with Mitt Romney, and have spent the last 4 months making Romney's Coronation something totally unopposed and unchallanged, and a making Romney's life (and the establishment) whole lot more comfortable and easier.

In the process, he completely killed-off his own message (what is it again?... oh right: be respectful and nice to Mitt Romney .. even though he's a crook who stole the Election from you in several States).

I don't know why Ron Paul turned into such a whimp, other than he was never serious about finshing his Campaign....because it was just theatre to sell his books.

Ron Paul's conviction and desire to fight completely vanished over the last 4 months......right at the point where it really mattered!

Not true

He didn't "duck and run away." He quit wasting resources on becuty contests and dog-and-pony shows and focused on getting delegates to go to the convention.

I'm voting for him even if I have to write him in. How about you?

Freedom is my Worship Word!

Yes True...

1. He totally refused to make-the-case directly and publically against Mitt Romney (which is what a Campaign is), and fight him right until the end (and maximize his numbers).

He also swept under the rug all the illegal and illegitimate election tactics that Romney used against Ron Paul, and never stood-up like a man and publically contested Romney's legitimacy. And he even argued against any lawsuits that would seek redress.

He never assisted or supported his own hard-working people who were fighting all the Delegate battles at the State Conventions, and instead just let them twist helplessly in the wind...while they faced increasing insults and abandonment from Ron Paul and his campaign people.

He put out multiple Campaign messages instructing his delegates to not rock the boat, to just be respectful to Mitt Romney and his scripted Coronation at Tampa, and to abandon the whole ideal of him ever being Nominated for anything.

And finally, he has made it publically clear that he does not want his name to be placed in Nomination, and now denies that he legitimately won 5 States.

The man is a total coward and a quitter.
Every action that he has taken since April 2012 proves that fact.

This is just not the way you ever run a Campaign, if you were at all serious.....

I Will Absalutly Write in Ron Paul

But I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "Not True"

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Martin Luther King Jr.

you seem to know--

maybe a person can't be a constitutional scholar and an aggressive politician at the same time?

But it sounds to me as though you have put too much trust in the man and too little in the message--

Do you KNOW this firsthand? I don't think so; I don't think anyone does--

the fact is that something happened, but, again, I don't think anyone on this site (DP) really knows what that was--

Maybe Dr. Paul is a traitor; I'll give you that; maybe he led *us* along a primrose path.

But can you tell me who has done better? All of *us* who are dressed up with our ideas of liberty and no place to go--

who else could have/would have done a better job of getting *us* to this point.

To be brutal, what if this mess *we* call a nation truly has gone so far that there is no redemption that will be allowed short of an absolute bloodbath---

It's one thing to talk 'big' about 'give me liberty or give me death', but the fact is that nations have been decimated of liberty lovers before and floundered for decades/centuries with no help--

I know Latvians, for example, who gave up and came to America, because there was no point in dying any more--

Ukrainians who fled here, because all the good people were killed.

*We* don't like to talk about this--

but it's one thing to choose to give *your own* life and quite another to bring about the death of many others who don't know what is going on--

I don't believe Dr. Paul deliberately 'killed-off' his message, but then I think the banksters have a much tighter 'net' around *us* than most of us believe, and I'm not sure what it will take to release *us* from that net, but I'm not sure the problem will be solved by having all those who love liberty be destroyed en masse--

my opinion: the 'net' is the unawakened Americans themselves; THEY are the ones who will kill those who love liberty--

and . . . who did more to awaken Americans than anyone else?

There's your conundrum--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Well Stated

And I hear your concern.

The indoctrination required to kill your brother or sister is not in place as yet for most of our military men and women. Remember the majority of the military is prepared to walk with Ron Paul..Not turn their guns against him.

The best time to take our stand is NOW.

Yes, some will die but those who remain will have the precious opportunity to once again bequeath liberty to their children's children. And with each death a thousand will rise..

Let's get on with it.

Until you are ready to die for what you believe, you are not living in true freedom!

They're too scared to try, now.

If they pulled an assassination, especially if it was the traditional "lone nut," they'd have a full-scale war on their hands within the week.

*we* don't know what happened . . .

*we* don't know. That's the 'bottom line'. *We* don't know.

This isn't about Dr. Paul's character--

but the fact is that nobody knows what happened a few months back when suddenly everything seemed to come to a stop.

*We* can guess, suppose, conjecture, hope and even scream about it or think ill of people--

but it is not known what happened to change the political atmosphere--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Probably why he didn't ask for Secret Service Protection

They would have let him get harmed, if not help plot it.

that and

that and he didn't want us the tax payers to pay for his personal protection, he's my hero!

Ron Paul Stands Alone

In the last few years, having the veil removed from my eyes as to how dark politics can truly be - I have even more admiration for Ron Paul. Those times when he stood alone? That took more courage than the majority of Americans have ever mustered over a lifetime.

Ron Paul didn't stand firm just once - when the vote call came, if he believed it was in violation to our Constitution - he would stand for what he believes.

If you look at most people, and most of us have seen it, they don't want to be the odd one out. If they find that their hand is the only one up. . .they sheepishly look around, utter a "heh heh", put their hand down and blend back in with the herd.

Do we realize and/or appreciate the courage/fearlessness Ron Paul has exhibited over the last 30 years? He has shown us the way. . .he will not follow any herd over a cliff. . .he will build a bridge (as long as the finances for it line up with the Constitution).

Beautiful post.

"Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?"

YES to freedom.
The Revolution will continue.

Actually I talked to him in his DC office a couple weeks back...

and he made a joke along the lines of I better watch out when I dont have this protection. Now he laughed it off and didnt seem that serious but still it was a little shocking.
