BOSTON, Aug. 14, 2012 -- /PRNewswire/ -- Residents of towns throughout the Boston area are banding together and aligning with groups in New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont to oppose Smart Meters, the new "advanced" utility meters (smart meters) being installed across the country.

Zero chance of Side Effects. But...

A person I work with in Kansas just had a smart water meter installed that uses the microwave band for communication with the city water suppy.

Every morning at 6 am after it was installed all his computers would reboot for no apparent reason. The burst would reset everything each day. He shielded the meter a bit more and the problem went away.

People have got to wake up to all this wireless EM stuff.

These "Smart Meters" don't even have the blessings

of Underwriters Laboratories (for what that's worth) and your saying there are no side effects from something we cannot see till it mestasticizes in a fire (several of these meters actually caught fire) or some physical malady...Where is the question mark at the end of your subject ??

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

Is there any similar opposition in PA?

Just wondering, because I recently had one installed on the side of my home without my knowledge, directly on the exterior wall of our living room. I've also noticed I've been receiving additional insurance offers recently from the electric company covering everything outside my home. Any help would be appreciated! I'd like to fight this garbage but I'm only one man.

So far

this is a list of states with organized opposition to smart meters:

From a google search I see that PA legislature is considering a bill to allow citizens to opt of of the smart meter installation. Although I'm not sure if that would help you out, seeing as yours is already installed.
