An open letter to the DP Mods

I understand that the Daily Paul attracts a number of different people with a number of different agendas and backgrounds. Let’s face it, we all know that a lot of the people that visit this site are not necessarily Ron Paul supporters. Being the bastion of free speech that it is, the Daily Paul goes out of it’s way to allow all voices to be heard on a number of different topics which it feels somehow represent the liberty movement in some way. I appreciate this and have no problem with that concept. I truly believe that any site which truly supports free speech should welcome all view points, even those that it does not agree with (although, they don’t necessarily deserves a spot on the front page.)

That being said, however, after five long years of blood, sweat and tears, many on this site are about to experience the culmination of all of their hard work: the last chance for Ron Paul to be nominated as the President of the United States. The work that has been put into this effort is really incalculable at this point. I know of people that have lived, breathed, ate and slept Ron Paul for a very long time now. In fact, this site would not even exist as it does without the inspiration that is Ron Paul. It is a sobering thought to think what lies ahead for our faltering nation without a natural leader like Ron Paul at the reigns, guiding us to the correct path to recovery. ( Call me an optimistic fool, but, I am hoping that I am not going to have to find out quite yet!)

Our delegates have a goliath sized battle ahead of them and they need and deserve all of the support that they can get. So, with that in mind, I please, please, please urge you to, for at least the last week leading up to the convention, reserve front page status to all things relating to and positively portraying Dr. Paul and their effort in Tampa. They have enough negativity working against them to last them a lifetime...this last few weeks it would be great if they wouldn’t have to come here and get it too.

I have seen a number of great posts concerning delegate chip-ins, motivational Ron Paul v Romney videos and essays, positive things that the campaign is doing, etc. etc. and most of it just slips right on past. As a tribute to Ron Paul and all that he has done for this movement, can we, for at least 1 week, follow his lead and keep the front page posts on point, motivational and positive.

We can all go back to debating the campaign shortfalls, Rand’s worthiness, social security, Gary Johnson and Ronald Reagan after the convention, although hopefully the topic of discussion will then be how to win Ron Paul the Presidency!

Denise B, thank your for so sensibly and

sensitively expressing what most of us have been hoping to see from Michael and the Mods. I hope this request will be honored. The delegates and activists still on course for our shared original mission deserve this final culmination for our efforts.

Anything Less is a Diss to the Delegates!

This article doesn't go far enough. If there is even the Slightest chance in a Billion that Paul could steal the Nomination, then the front page of this site needs to be cheering it on as if it were inevitable.

From here until the RNC, all I want to see on the front page of DP is about HOW TO HELP RON WIN THE NOMINATION.

I find EVERYTHING else DISRESPECTFUL AND HARMFUL to the good doctor and all delegates.

That is all.

Bump for tampa

I Voted Up to Help Dr. Paul Delegates

Although, I was waiting for Reality Check to make front page today.

I agree the front page needs

I agree the front page needs to only consist of tips and ammunition for the time being, so the delegates and people of importance can have easy access to it.

I really wished that the GJ

I really wished that the GJ people would have saved their onslaught of GJ until after the RNC. That they didn't is a sort of a disrespect to Dr. Ron Paul. I guess their divide and conquer strategy failed. If they would have waited until after the RNC, GJ MIGHT have got my consideration, but since they decided to disrespect the Doc I'll never vote GJ. Ron Paul has my vote regardless of the outcome in Tampa. Though I believe through God's will, Dr. Ron Paul will be the nominee.

There is no divide and conquer strategy...

Getting Gary Johnson in the debates is very time sensitive. The first debates start in October. That's about 6 weeks away. Johnson has to receive 15% average in a few polls to get the invite. Spreading the word is extremely important in that regard. The more people telling others about Johnson the better. Some people have realized this fact and come around.

Liberty can't always wait.

Besides, Johnson was out of the GOP race months ago. Ron Paul's only immediate competition is Mitt Romney.

Meanwhile, it would be nice if everyone would try to insure that at least Liberty has a voice in the debates. What's so vile and underhanded about that?

I still think Gary Johnson

is losing potential support because of the premature quest for votes here.
I am not all that offended by it, as I plan to hold my breath and vote for Johnson(HATE THE FAIR TAX!) but lots of people here still think the GOP will play fair and let a real floor vote occur at the convention, with Paul delegates present.

The Johnson posts here are hurting not helping.
I saw it first hand with my post about oppostiton to getting Johnson to 15%.
I got downvoted into oblivion and accused of being a troll.

Emotions are very high here. After the convention, the finality of the 2012 campaign would set in, then would have been a better time to look for support here.

I agree with Nonna. By saying

I agree with Nonna. By saying divide and conquer I was mostly implying about the ones with ill intent. I understand that Liberty needs to have a voice in the debates but how do you know that Liberty's voice wont be Dr. Ron Pauls? When you have a bunch of people saying things like Dr. Ron Paul isn't going to be the nominee so let's start focusing on GJ, before the RNC and before the Republican nominee is even chosen, it can bring people's morale down. Therefore giving up on the goal of nominating Dr. Paul.

I don't see any of the divide and conquer

strategy in YOUR posts and comments, dwalters. While we may agree on some things and not on others, I do see that there is a definite surge of divide and conquer strategists on DP from different camps. In fact, I posted a comment along the line that I don't believe that the majority of the Johnson trolls here are actually Johnson supporters. Merely, distupters.
