An open letter to the DP Mods

I understand that the Daily Paul attracts a number of different people with a number of different agendas and backgrounds. Let’s face it, we all know that a lot of the people that visit this site are not necessarily Ron Paul supporters. Being the bastion of free speech that it is, the Daily Paul goes out of it’s way to allow all voices to be heard on a number of different topics which it feels somehow represent the liberty movement in some way. I appreciate this and have no problem with that concept. I truly believe that any site which truly supports free speech should welcome all view points, even those that it does not agree with (although, they don’t necessarily deserves a spot on the front page.)

That being said, however, after five long years of blood, sweat and tears, many on this site are about to experience the culmination of all of their hard work: the last chance for Ron Paul to be nominated as the President of the United States. The work that has been put into this effort is really incalculable at this point. I know of people that have lived, breathed, ate and slept Ron Paul for a very long time now. In fact, this site would not even exist as it does without the inspiration that is Ron Paul. It is a sobering thought to think what lies ahead for our faltering nation without a natural leader like Ron Paul at the reigns, guiding us to the correct path to recovery. ( Call me an optimistic fool, but, I am hoping that I am not going to have to find out quite yet!)

Our delegates have a goliath sized battle ahead of them and they need and deserve all of the support that they can get. So, with that in mind, I please, please, please urge you to, for at least the last week leading up to the convention, reserve front page status to all things relating to and positively portraying Dr. Paul and their effort in Tampa. They have enough negativity working against them to last them a lifetime...this last few weeks it would be great if they wouldn’t have to come here and get it too.

I have seen a number of great posts concerning delegate chip-ins, motivational Ron Paul v Romney videos and essays, positive things that the campaign is doing, etc. etc. and most of it just slips right on past. As a tribute to Ron Paul and all that he has done for this movement, can we, for at least 1 week, follow his lead and keep the front page posts on point, motivational and positive.

We can all go back to debating the campaign shortfalls, Rand’s worthiness, social security, Gary Johnson and Ronald Reagan after the convention, although hopefully the topic of discussion will then be how to win Ron Paul the Presidency!

But, think twice about not voting for him simply because of the actual GJ "Trolls" here, maybe that was their game, to throw you off GJ so you dont vote for him. Or then again, maybe, knowing how smart and untrusting of most, we are, they tried a double bluff, tricking us into thinking that they dont wont us to vote for him, so that we will do the opposite, and vote for him.

Either way, for the true Ron Paul supporters, it is divisive to push him here so much before the RNC.

What ever you do, vote on priniciple, if their is nobody with priniciples to vote for, write in Ron Paul.

It was the GJ trolling that led me to do

my own research on Johnson and I learned a lot. I am grateful they came here, because otherwise I would have cast my vote for GJ, if Dr. Paul shouldn't get the nomination. Now I know for me, GJ is the much lesser of 3 evils and I won't vote for him even if Dr. Paul endorsed him! I love Ron Paul and stand with him but, I'm not the RP version of a sheeple.

Write in votes are allowed in my state and they DO count here, since the Diebold machines don't flip those votes... at least not yet.

I agree And it really isn't

I agree

And it really isn't too much to ask considering the situation

It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen on setting brushfires in the minds of men. -Sam Adams

No need for it to be the last chance.

If we become the popularly elected delegates that forms the state convention. Then we can elect the RNC (Republican National Committee).

We can elect the National Delegates to the National Convention in 2016.

Pope John Paul II died at 84.

In the mean time we need a new Congress. This one is not protecting the Constitution.

Free includes debt-free!

I love your optimism!

...agreed :)

I originally voted this post down...

then I voted it up after completely reading it. It is a thoughtful post.

However, I doubt the delegates are primarily focused on what is on the front page of the DP. They have more important things to prepare for. If I were one of them, I would be trying to watch to proceedings of every convention that was available in its entirety, I would be studying the rules of the convention, I would be preparing a strategy to thwart predictable road blocks, I would be doing a lot of things...

Worrying about what is on the front page of the DP is not one of them.

That said, if any posts arise that could help the delegates prepare, I hope the mods forgo front-paging other topics in the favor of the former.

Thank you dwalters...

I appreciate that. I agree that the delegates have a lot to be concerned with right now and probably don't spend hours and hours on the DP at this point; however, that is kind of the point. I do know that many delegates do frequent the site on and off and I just thought it would be nice if they could just feel the love for the week heading up to the convention and not have to shift through all the minutia to find something a little encouraging or positive. I really do think that a positive attitude is half the battle and a little encouragement can go a long way.... :)

Anything that I can do to gain liberty...

I will do.

I thank you for being kind, and I also thank you for your efforts to promote liberty.

I'll be honest - I remembered your name, and I have been skeptical of you at times. At least now, I know you were being sincere to your true feelings. To me, it shows a lot of character when people stand up for what they believe. That's how I've always led my life.

See you on the battlefield. I hope the war is short and the beginning of the end starts in November.

and thank you again for your hard work and kind comments also...isn't it great that we don't have to agree on every fine point to still find a way to work together for liberty. I think that is one of the greatest things about Ron Paul...he focuses on the one thing that can bring us all together....our quest for freedom! Battle on soldier! :)

Rand's new book is not being pushed

yet Rand's comments about Ryan are.

Rand is using honey not vinegar. He has said this multiple times.

We can be vinegary. That is our choice.

Very Important!

Is one of the moderators a Gary Johnson supporter. If so, I hope he could restrain himself for that week.

Bump from me too

This is an example of one that I think should be front page:

Bump. Amen.

10 Days out and I have to search this site for postings and updates concerning the campaign.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

Thanks for the bump

Dave! I had a feeling this might drop like a rock, but I had to try!

Thank you, Denise B.

Let's wait and see how many up votes you get and we will have a better idea of how many of us you just spoke for with this plea. Thanks for speaking out.
