Article: Ron Paul Still Mum As His Son Endorses Paul Ryan

U.S. News has come out with a new article of how Ron Paul has still not endorsed Mitt Romney while his son Rand has endorsed both Romney and his running mate Paul Ryan.

"His son, Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul, has endorsed Wisconsin Republican Congressman Paul Ryan as the vice presidential nominee, while Ron Paul has stayed mum not only about Ryan, but about endorsing presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney."

Ron Paul hasn't officially conceded

For whatever reason, RP is still officially a candidate for the nomination so he cannot therefore endorse his competitor. He has, however, conceded that Romney will win the nomination. He is not officially conceding for some reason that he knows - I suspect because he still wants to negotiate some policy issues with the Romney campaign.

In any event his son is not so constrained as Ron Paul - Rand can endorse Romney / Ryan at this time and I do not think he is a traitor to his father by doing so - I am 100% certain that his actions and those of Jesse Benton have the prior consent and approval of Ron Paul - otherwise you would hear from Ron Paul directly and clearly.

Rand's 'endorsements' are perfunctory

Don't sweat the small stuff, man, we got a revolution to win and it is not going to happen at the 2012 ballot box. and is planning for the future and we should too.

locally we have liberty

locally we have liberty candidates running for the house and county seats:) We can WIN IN COLORADO 2012 with or without ron paul. The cat is out of the bag:) We did exactly what he asked. We are reclaiming the gop:) and we will hold the gop accountable for their actions.

Bend Our Minds Towards Tampa

That's what I was writing about in my post: http://www.dailypaul.com/249220/when-the-phat-lady-sings-in-...

At the right time. . .ALL the positive we can muster. . .point it towards Tampa. . .and have faith.

I like that suggestion

Please make a post of it. See if we all do it and it works. Paul waving above his head......go Ron. Miracles do happen.

Keepin' it real.

And now he endorses Ryan…unforgivable

I don't care what anyone says, I will not vote for Rand when he runs for the White House. This guy is absolutely unbelievable. It will be very interesting to see what he has to say in Tampa.

Larry in North Carolina
The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men and women to not support Ron Paul!

How could Rand even think of

How could Rand even think of ever running for the White House? To the Neocons, he an unstable late convert, and to the actual conservatives, he is a traitor. How could he even get a campaign off the ground?

The HEADLINE is about RON

The rest of the article is meant to appeal to the Rand-haters here, and guess what?......YOU FELL FOR IT!

Thank You So Much to those who took time to express your clear concise factual opinions in the US News' comments section.

There were so many of you....it was like a Ron Paul Avalanche of Info.

Keep the focus on Ron...don't fall for the distractions.

RE: The HEADLINE is about RON

I honestly have no idea what you are saying here. How does an opinion stated here automatically wind up in the US News comments section? And what difference would it make if they did? And who is it that set this alleged trap? And for what purpose. I am not arguing against what you said; I just don't get it.

Prodigal Rand has Officially Gone to The...

Dark Side (of the GOP).

There is only one RON PAUL.

Ron Paul is HARD CORE LIBERTY.

The rest of us are just trying to keep up.

Natural Order

I agree with this post Natural Order

That is very true. There is only one Ron Paul, and it's very hard, if not impossible, at this political point in history to match him because he stood alone. He is no longer alone, and those who have followed him, from Rand to delegates, to committee seats are being targetted by the GOP, Obama and GJ supporters.

This was planned long ago

Both Willard and Ryan attended Bilderberger who made their picks then this last spring.... Watch the vids of P Ryan in one of those BB limosines.

Keepin' it real.

SteveMT's picture

The Ron Paul "mum" about all of this speaks volumes,....

libraries in fact. Silence is the only correct response for this endorsement, IMO. Rand is his own person, and he can do whatever he wants.

Being a physician, Ron Paul as well as many others know about "Primum non nocere:" First, do no harm. Do no harm to anyone, and that means not only to Rand, but also to himself and to us as well. That silence by Ron Paul is golden for the Liberty Movement.

i wonder if rand paul will

i wonder if rand paul will still be playing the game when the gulags are fully operational.

i think his waters are fluoridated

Rand is playing a different

Rand is playing a different position, but it's all still part of the same game. Patience, gentlemen; all shall be revealed in the fullness of time. It's too early to show the cards.

Rand and Ron at age 45

Consider:
Ron also was more conciliatory and more hopeful
at Rand's age.

Ron did place some hopes on the Reagan republicans in 1980, he went along to some degree and was bitterly disappointed (though he did not compromise his principles one bit - yes - there appears to be a difference).

But Ron tried to influence the republican party from within - just like Rand is trying now.

Rand has seen his father being hammered - he may want to try something different - he may as well be a weaker personality - we do not know - we should not judge prematurely.

Even if some of Rand's work at the senate may seem not pure - we still should not judge yet.

Peter Buchmann

That sounds very mysterious and all,

but a magician's card tricks are not what should be revealed when it comes to Sen. Rand Paul. Paul has introduced legislation to overturn current and block future federal regulations that ensure our health and safety. His bill, called the "Regulations of the Executive in Need of Scrutiny Act", also referred to as the REINS Act, "reins" in the government but does not rein in the power of corporate giants like the Koch brothers.
Last year, the Journal of Community Health published a study that found people who live near mountaintop removal coal mining have cancer rates twice as high as people living elsewhere in Appalachia. A peer-reviewed study also linked mountaintop removal to high rates of birth defects. Another study pegged the public health costs of coal in Appalachia at about $80 billion a year. Mountaintop removal has been a controversial issue in Appalachia since at least the mid-1990s and coalfield citizens have long complained of health problems, and probable links to coal and rock dust from blasting and trucking, contaminated streams and groundwater, and toxic chemicals at coal preparation plants.
Implications of these findings are slow to sink into Appalachia's political realm - which is heavily dominated by mining industry money. WVU's economics dept. has doctoral fellowships named for the Koch brothers, billionaire owners of refining, oil and mining interests. The Koch fellows at WVU churn out papers that, among other things, cast doubt on whether mine safety rules are a good thing.

Rand Paul's legislation is designed to make it more difficult to implement safeguards, including those that protect public health, the environment, and food safety. It would shift decision-making from experts to politicians; allowing Congress to undermine existing laws and enabling a majority in one House of Congress to void legal protections while dispensing with the role of the other body and the
President. Thus the REINS Act represents a threat on several levels.

The fact that Rand has so

The fact that Rand has so many hardcore liberals who dislike him like yourself make me feel really good about him.

I am embarrassed by Rand

I am embarrassed by Rand Paul's flagrant disassociation from his father and his father's candidacy. I am still trying to figure out why and how he feels compelled to issue any political statements at all...and who would be listening to him anyway? I think Jan Brewer, the gov of AZ would be a good VP for Ron Paul.

I am amazied how stubborn many of us are.

Rand Paul does not dance under the collective (in this case, "our") tune. He is a grown man. He takes a stance and takes full responsibility of his actions. Rand does not want Obama to win. Like Peter Schiff and many others, Rand thinks that if economic collapse happens soon, it is better to be under a businessman than a socialist. Rand is not obsessed with taking power as many of us are. He understands that for a stable long-term free society to exist, consensus of the majority is needed.

I get the feeling that the sheer disappointment from Rand's actions many of us feel comes from our inner desire to see Rand as our future leader. Without Rand, some feel we have no future, we feel betrayed.... Well, Rand may not want to be the leader, he just want to fight for liberty the way he thinks is the most effective. So compared to Rand, Gary Johnson is more closer to us if taking power is important this year. Let's all come down from our high emotions.

I can't believe

that there are still people posting here who continue to believe in the fake left/right political divide. Obama is not a socialist, he's a corporatist just like Romney and they work for the same people! Wake up!!!

I'll tell you what boy, I

I'll tell you what boy, I just love, LOVE how Rand Paul has so unabashedly shown his true colors and proven he's what I said he was two years ago: a card carrying neocon fraud. lmmfao.

I remember everyone on DP bitching and moaning and chastizing me two years ago when I suggested - how dare I - that everyone get to know the man and not judge him based on who his father is. Turns out Rand used his father's good name to "get in the game" and oh what a team player he's become!

Ha! People kill me.

'nother troll

cointelpro is BZ. IGNORE do not feed the trolls or read their posts...
They want infighting.
File under cointelpro trolls are loose on Rand

Keepin' it real.

I wouldn't call him a

I wouldn't call him a "fraud", just yet. He still has a good voting record. He's defiantly not taking the honest approach his father did, though. All he had to do was say nothing. Not sure why he's "playing the game" when we're in a "fight" for our country.

I am losing a lot of respect for Ron Paul

by his silence on Rand's endorsements.

I know it is his son but do one sacrifice the country for the love of our children. Ron Paul should withdraw his support for Rand Paul and state so publicly!

And Ron Paul sure the hell

And Ron Paul sure the hell shouldn't have invited Rand Paul to speak at his rally. That action was a slap in the face to all the supporters and delegates who planned to attend. It shows what little respect Ron Paul has for those who worked so hard for his candidacy. And I'm having that much less respect for Ron Paul each day he pulls trash like this. I would never go to that damn rally. The karma alone would make me want to vomit. PAUL Fest is where true liberty will be found.
