SABOTAGE! Ron Paul Being Obliterated From Wiki Tea Party Entry!

Anyone have a wiki-editing account?!

Someone's editing the hell out of wiki's "Tea Party Movement" entry, presumably to black out Ron Paul and whitewash Romney and Ryan! There's not a single mention of December 16, 2007! Crediting people I've never heard of!

Adding false information as I type this! Stating that libertarians like Ryan! Calls Paul supporters neo-isolationists - Just added pictures of Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich!

Maybe because of this?

"The tea party's involvement in the 2012 GOP presidential primaries was minimal, owing to divisions over whom to endorse as well as lack of enthusiasm for all the candidates.[170] Which is not to say the 2012 GOP ticket hasn't had an influence on the Tea Party: following the selection of Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney's vice-presidential running mate, the New York Times declared that the once fringe of the conservative coalition, Tea Party lawmakers are now "indisputably at the core of the modern Republican Party." [173]"

I love it!!!

Referring to the post by (Smacca) which read: "Instead of saying it "arose from the ashes of Ron Paul's failed 2008 presidential bid." it should say "stealing from the momentum that the Ron Paul supporters had created the tea party was then intentionally hijacked and compromised by such notorious and feeble minded thieves such as Glenn Beck, the Koch Brothers and Sara Palin." That line should definitely be put in.

Winning

More evidence we are WINNING. ZPanic striken chickens with no heads are even spending time trying to scrub wiki. LOL. Post and Edit this wiki page relentlessly!!!!!!!! It is not hard to do! Include sources! Fight on. FOR LIBERTY !!! WHOOT

Why I believe this matters

I think the most significant aspect of the 2007 Tea Party is that:

- it was an ENTIRELY grass roots creation - no campaign, media or strategists were involved at it's inception
- this effort continues to be marginalized by the media
- it was later co-opted and the message warped by political operatives and media persons
- only after this co-option, would the media acknowledge and approve the "Tea Party".

These facts should not be tossed down the memory hole.

All of the imagery, symbols and most of the subject matter of later tea parties are blatant imitations of the first tea parties we held around the country in 2007. Extensive youtube video bears this out and you would have a very difficult time distinguishing these tea parties from the later ones in 2009. It was Libertarians and Paul supporters that chose the Boston Tea Party and the Gadsen flag to symbolize our intention of voicing our discontent and being heard. None of the latecomers cared or ever referenced the importance of following the Constitution, nor showed much respect for anything the founding fathers had to say. The overwhelming majority of Republicans FAILED to speak out about the bailouts, the power grabs, the ever-growing size of government, or the horrific over-spending of both parties - until Obama entered office.

On the contrary, most of them STILL reject the U.S. Constitution, as is clearly illustrated by their support of the Patriot Act, NDAA, TSA, indefinite detention, citizen assassination, and so much more of the power hungry, big government legislation that's been enacted over the last decade or so.

When Ron Paul ended his candidacy in 2008, he warned us that when you start a successful movement - as we had - there will always be opportunists who step out in front of your parade and try to lead it to benefit their own agenda. This is exactly what we witnessed first hand with the Tea Party.

Because so many people use wiki as a source of information, it is proper that it reflect history accurately. Any Tea Party entry should credit the massive grassroots-only effort that originated the message and imagery of the earliest (modern) Tea Party.

On December 16, 2007 Ron Paul supporters marched, protested, gave and listened to speeches appropriate to a true "Tea Party". This took place in cities all around America (and some in other countries!) while money was raised online for Ron Paul's campaign. Many months later, others decided to benefit from the success of our hard work by imitating us for their own personal gain. That's when the media-endorsed "Tea Party" began to bastardize the movement, so that it is now little more than a vehicle to be exploited by GOP political strategists.

(I had intended to add this as an update to my op, but I don't seem able to do that)

Well Put

And the same goes for Occupy.

Revisionist History

Reminds me of how the Kremlin would periodically air brush out politburo members from official photos who had fallen into disfavor and carted off to the gulag or worse.

I agree that it is important

I agree that it is important to keep the history books straight about Dr Paul being behind the beginning of the tea party and certainly keeping it on the wiki. As a side note, it occurred to me that I don't really care if others take over/take credit for the tea party movement because it is just an indicator that OUR ideas are taking over. Those people recognize that OUR ideas are the popular ideas and they attach themselves to our ideas. As long as our message spreads and gains popularity, then we win.

There's probably a down-side, but I haven't looked at that part yet.

The media

is full on propaganda saying Ryan is a a friend to the Tea Party and Libertarians.
Including the NYT.

I sent a tweet to Gary Johnson and his staff about what they were up to.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

I guess Ron is back! :)

I guess Ron is back! :)

What's all the yelling about?

I just read the article. I didn't see much difference in that and what it said a month ago when I read it. The only major difference I noticed was that it mentions Juan Williams crediting Paul for sparking the Tea Party, whereas before I think it just mentioned his '07 Tea Party rally.

High jacked Tea Party

Ron Paul people were the Tea Party long before anyone (in this part of the world) even knew who Paul Ryan was. Now they are trying to rub him out of the whole picture.
Feel free to take a look at my facebook page and you will see I am a very big and proud RON PAUL supporter! Have been since 1988! I still get very put out when anyone tells me I'm going to help
Obam-bam win by voting for Ron Paul! I WILL WRITE IN RON PAUL/ANDREW NAPOLITANO if I must write it in. I pledged my vote to him a long time ago. He showed me, personally how much he cares for the people and Romney has not shown any such interest. He is only self promoting and of course he is using his 'Pitiful' MS stricken wife to the max. She said it, herself, that he couldn't function without her nor her without him. I am NOT impressed!

To be honest,

I didn't hear of the Tea Party until I went to that taxpayer's march on DC thing back in '09. I had just gotten back from Iraq, and some buddies of mine and myself took the drive up from Camp Lejeune. Although I had been a Ron Paul guy since I discovered him in late '06 and became a member of DP in '07 under another account, I was not familiar with the TP. I found some friendly people up there, but evidenced by signs and apparel, the philosophical lines tended to blur somewhere along blind patriotism. That's why I've never identified myself with the Tea Party. My first impression was that it was never gonna get beyond the Glenn Beck's and Sarah Palin's of pseudo-libertarianism. No offense to those who were there before it was co-opted.

"The rich man writes the book of laws the poor man must defend, but the highest laws are written on the hearts of honest men."

Instead of saying it "arose

Instead of saying it "arose from the ashes of Ron Paul's failed 2008 presidential bid." it should say "stealing from the momentum that the Ron Paul supporters had created the tea party was then intentionally hijacked and compromised by such notorious and feeble minded thieves such as Glenn Beck, the Koch Brothers and Sara Palin."

Everyone should rate the page

There are ratings at the bottom of the page. I just gave it all the lowest scores. Unless they're going to start it off with the facts then it should be panned.

I clearly remember when they

I clearly remember when they hi-jacked the tea party. It was when Beck and Palin spoke at some rally. I thought "they can't be serious", then I knew it was ruined.

After Glenn Blech, (from hi atop NYC)

tricked and slammed Debra Madina, he got in bed with Rick Perry because Glenn likes Perry's jeans, went for the Austin Kiss aka BeckBroke Mountain, then Glenn & Sara went to Austin to endorse Rick for TX Gov and put on the Tea Party BS. Right?
Now the Radio Clown, banished from Fox, lives in Texas & still thinks he is cool. Beck is a fool tool.

It's Probably Rush Limbaugh..

.. who is editing it. The origin of the tea party is as plain as day for everyone who knows anything. Link this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqR3wLZrjEk

Ron Paul's Tea Party in December '07

was a one-time protest/fundraiser. Was there a direct line between that fundraiser and the Tea Party protests in February 2009?

Anyone can always add them back in or edit wiki

.

R[3VOL]UTION

is not a Tea Party.

- Mao.

Seems accurate

I just read the Wiki page and it looks fair giving Paul lots of credit but also pointing out the various incarnations.

Rand Paul wrote, The Tea Party goes to Washington, so that aspect of the Paul brand is very much Tea Party.

I think Ron and Rand should reclaim the brand and build it into the broader liberty movement.

Yes,

both people, organizations and governments are "scraping" context. It is more blatant about gays and Marxist ideology (all modern revisions by socialist-progressives.) Luckily, Wikipedia maintains editing trail. Look at the editing tab and you can find almost all previous versions. It is a tedious job though.

Thus, I found a detailed list of documented facts how CIA spies daily on Israel to the point that diplomats began using sign language in their own offices. There is another story about the biggest USA anti-missile radar in Israeli desert and information is not shared with Israel. At least we know where "foreign aid" goes in addition to the fact that 50% of the aid money automatically goes to Pentagon's trade unions. Surely, the information was scraped a week later from Wikipedia pages..

They've been slowly doing this for years now...

I posted something back in 09' i think about how neocon talk radio were all starting to sound like Ron Paul. Constitution this, freedom and liberty that etc etc. They have actually managed to pull it off regarding the masses. I think Glenn Beck's 9-12 B.S was a think-tank response to the Ron Paul movement. To corral disenfranchized "patriots" and lead them astray- it was kindof a flop, then not long after the "official fox-news version" of the tea party started being pushed. Every other day I'd tune into our local neocon talk radio apparatus and would hear ALLLLLL of the talking heads mimic certain things about Ron Paul's platform. Limited Gov, cut spending, the founding fathers etc etc....I kept thinking (not really) "WELL GREAT! they are all starting to sound like RP! maybe they will come around and start giving praise where praise is due!!!".....didn't happen. They routinely bash the guy, whos platform they have so obviously hijacked. The funny thing: before OBAMA was elected, they literally said NOTHING about the constitution, freedom/liberty etc etc. It was as if ALL of the talking heads were given their new M.O from some think-tank or something. Nowadays, tune into Mark Levin.....every other word out of that demagogues mouth is "CONSTITUTION" pretty much the same as Hannity et al. This was on purpose in my opinion, i have observed it with great anger/resentment over the past 3-4 years. They're taking this play right out of Goebbels book, repeat-repeat-repeat and it becomes true. Now the so called "Tea party" is getting a hard-on over Paul Ryan as a "true-constitutional tea partier" (gag me with a steak knife) So this new revelation doesn't suprise me at all- get ready for more and more of this as they edge out Ron Paul into irrelevancy, as the masses are totally brainwashed and forget way too easily the origin of things. Disgusting.

The Tea Party hasbeen compromised

...so what Wiki has to say is completely irrelevent.

Thanx,

Jason

You can't get clean in a dirty bathtub.

I just clicked on it

and someone at Wiki must have read your post becuse Ron Paul is back in it.
This text is in it: "Perhaps the first "Tea Party" event on record was an event for Ron Paul dubbed "Boston TeaParty07" on December 16th, 2007. This event included the throwing of boxes labeled "tea" and "IRS" among others, into the bay. This event was also notable in making online "Money Bomb" history as the largest one-day fundraising event at $6.5 million."

Please Don't!!

If you do anything, add entries that Ron Paul was "accused" by the media of being part of the Tea Party, but luckily never was.

Don't ever associate Ron Paul with the Teaocons!

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

100% True!

And for everyone trying to link him to The Teaparty, you do a great injustice to the Ron Paul Movement from 2007.

Its obvious to anyone with

Its obvious to anyone with two brain cells that the tea party was highjacked by the GOP/neocons. There's video evidence.

"The best way to control the opposition is to lead it." -Lenin

You must run as a Democrat if it is impossible to win as a Republican in your area!!!

Yeah Baby! Tell it like it is...

Forget the "Save the GOP" mantra. Get in office through either party. It doesn't matter...

The GOP should be saved, but

The GOP should be saved, but if you live in a Democrat stronghold then your time should be spent in taking them over. Time is being wasted otherwise. The neocons can fiddle with the tea party all they want. We should focus on all parties.
