Mothers To Regulators: We Will Not Comply! (Way to Go Liberty Lovin' Ladies)

We peacefully DO NOT COMPLY! That's music to my ears girls!

Article: August 16, 2012-Washington, DC (Business Wire)—On Saturday August 18, 2012 a group of mothers and others, members of the advocacy groups, the Raw Milk Freedom Riders and Lemonade Freedom Day, will take their raw milk and lemonade to the lawn of the US Capitol to celebrate their right to “voluntary exchange.”

By offering raw milk and lemonade for sale or barter, which is illegal in many places including Washington DC, these mothers and other activists risk criminal charges, and possibly jail. Last August, in a similar protest, three people were arrested for selling 10-cent cups of lemonade.

The lemonade stands and raw milk tasting booths will be set up on the mall at 12:00 noon on the lawn of the Capitol reflecting pool. The approximate location is around 3rd Street Southwest between Maryland and Jefferson in Washington DC.

“The law has turned ordinary people into criminals for engaging in normal human behavior,” says Liz Reitzig, one of the event’s organizers. “I am proud to stand with others as we peacefully do not comply with these laws.”

The protest event will be livestreamed at this website:

Has anyone heard how this protest went?

Maybe no news means it was at least not violently put down by the Feds.

Glad to see this

I love raw goat milk, we sell raw cow and goat milk in our health food store.......the goat is gastroentestinal heaven for me, of all places it is legal here in south carolina. go s.kakalaki!

you people are missing the point

of this article.......THEY NEED SUPPORT.How many people can we get there to support them & make it hard for the media to ignore? If they show up with even 100 customers/supporters,they will be arrested & this whole story will quietly go into history,at the pleasure of the federal machine. If they show up & have 10s of 1000s of supporters or maybe even 100s of 1000s of supporters, they can not ignore the story.
So lets see how we can help & see how many people we can get there to support them & lets not let this go into history without making a HUGE scene at the whitehouse!!!!!!

Buying and Selling

“The law has turned ordinary people into criminals for engaging in normal human behavior,”

how true.

Raw milk spreads disease?

Somebody told me that raw milk is illegal because it spreads disease, can anyone verify/ give thoughts?

"Believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear." - Benjamin Franklin

ive been using it for years and in super healthy

I think that if it is a small farm and they are really clean, then its ok, but they heat the milk on big farms to kill bacteria from cow poo that gets in the milk, cows are disgusting, goats poo pellets,,i choose the goat stuff, ALSO goats cant pass hepatitis like cows can {supposedly},,but like i said. ive been drinking it for years and im good to go, when they heat it ,the heat kills enzymes and in turn has an unhealthy effect.

I had a cow

I milked her every morning and we drank the fresh milk, skimmed the cream and made butter all the time and no one ever got sick. The only time you have to worry to my knowledge is if the cow gets mastitis or if you keep the cow in unsanitary conditions. (which is what they do at factory farms) We also had chickens and fresh double yolked eggs. No problem there either.

it does not spread disease

what libertad says is very true. But aside from that, raw milk in fact,is VERY healthy!I have seen & read MANY stories of people who have had many health issues which were cured with raw milk. One that sticks in my mind,is a mother whose son was ill.Dr's said he was going down hill rapidly & they had a list of treatments they wanted to put him thru at a huge cost. She heard from a friend about the healing properties of raw milk and figured it couldn't hurt. Her son started getting better & more active the first day he started drinking it and only continued to get better. When she went & reported this to the Dr,he tried telling her how bad raw milk is for people & that it is illegal in some states. The Dr did everything he could to get her to give up on raw milk(which was working)& try his expensive and historically iffy treatment.

So once again,it has nothing to do with the government looking out for our health or well being. It has EVERYTHING to do with them looking out for their kickbacks they get from the large corporations processing milk, that want raw milk to remain illegal!!!This is why it is so important for everyone to educate themselves in the political arena & get involved. We need to get our nation back. The only way to do that is to take control of our government back.POLITICS IS NOT TABOO.IT IS MANDATORY FOR A FREE STATE!!!!!

Raw milk is illegal because it forces pasteurized milk producers

To hold a higher standard of cleanliness. A standard that is to high for them to follow. Raw milk has to be clean so it is. Pasteurization allows filthy production practice and in fact encourages filthy practices because they can get away with it. While raw milk cows only/mostly dine on fresh grass in fields, the other cows live in feed lots and are pumped with meds just to keep them alive.
It's a backward world we live in when it comes to a lot of what government tells us.

Deep down everyone is Libertarian.

And, have you ever read how margarine is made? Disgusting. Only in America do they shove crap like that off as healthy and make raw milk out to be bad. It's criminal!

I wouldn't be surprised if they get arrested promptly

and without hesitation, but I applaud them for not giving a shit. Unfortunately, the peckers in power, have lost their fear.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

Game Plan.....

If your going to do this, you'd better "raw milk it for all it's worth".

I see little advantage to doing this and in the end just feeding the gov-kitty mo money. If your gonna go thru all of this C%&! at least MAKE SURE you some how get MAJOR media attention.

We The People could have had all of this s&*! wraped up years ago and be not going thru all of this now and could have been making a better country IF media that the people put their trust in was even half-way honest.

Lemonade & Raw Milk Freedom Riders

"...By the time you hear that siren sound,
then your soul is in the lost and found
Forever, forever
Freedom rider
Here it comes
Here it comes..."

Ron Paul raw milk or Gary Johnson raw milk?

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

I think

you are getting sucked back into the neocon game and focusing on the wrong thing.

No just tired of all the

No just tired of all the Johnson supporters trying to Hijack the Daily PAUL.

I had actually

Read your post wrong anyway. My apologies.

to point out that it's the issue of food freedom and not the cult of personality that's important.

That happens some times. You can see it in the archives.

It's curious.

Some posts also change dates compared to comment dates.

I find it puzzling, too!

(Don't know why you got down-voted?... I +1'd you!) :)

Yes, I first noticed it while searching so as not to post

a duplicate thread. As for the down-vote, I seriously think I have a stalker (I have my guesses) as I know I've pissed certain people off LOL : )

Happened here (and other posts) too:

It's A Shame

It's a shame Tthat peaceful political activitists have to put themselves in jail by noncompliance to bring these nanny state to the attention of the people. Sacrificing oneself on the altar of the police state is commendable, but I wish there was a better way.

Yes, but it's more of a shame

Yes, but it's more of a shame that these people run the risk of jail for selling raw milk and/or lemonade.
