Julian Assange Has Become A "Prisoner"!

Julian Assange was holed up in Ecuador's London embassy on Friday with police guarding its exits after Britain warned that the diplomatic standoff over the WikiLeaks founder could go on for years.

Ecuador granted asylum on Thursday to Assange -- whose website enraged the United States by publishing a vast cache of confidential government files -- but Britain has vowed not to grant him safe passage out of the country.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague said his government was obliged under its own laws to extradite the Australian national to Sweden, where he is wanted for questioning over alleged sex crimes.

"No one, least of all the government of Ecuador, should be in any doubt that we are determined to carry out our legal obligation to see Mr Assange extradited to Sweden," Hague told a press conference on Thursday.

He admitted that the stalemate could continue for months or even years.

After Assange "secrets

After Assange "secret documents" attacking Mubarak, Gaddafi and Assad regimes in perfect harmony with US-NATO coup d'etats , I expect soon few "secret leaks" about Iran and Lebanon.
Assange is a joke, North Koreean newspapers have more credibility then this douche.

This is going to backfire

on the slimy limy's. Ecuador is not going to be pushed around...they are not puppets of the west. I expect Ecuador will be getting some support here soon from Chavez and all of his friends. The limy's say they will NOT allow Assange to leave their airspace.

This may go on for a year...but in the end, the limy's are going to look like fools.

Haven't many come to the

Haven't many come to the conclusion that Assange is a Western intelligence operative?

Why...

Why would the establishment fight him so hard.

BTW Bradley Manning is still 'tortured' in America for exposing war crimes!

He is about to have his own

He is about to have his own tv show! "They" are not fighting him that hard. Plus, notice that he NEVER has any dirt on Israel? Never. And he finds 9/11 Truthers "annoying." Well, I find anyone who calls a truthseeker "annoying" annoying.

You are uninformed. I answered the same post

you made below. What do you seek in hoping to divert support from this major advocate and activist for free speech and free press?

I admit I am in the dark

I admit I am in the dark about this one, except I am suspicious based on what I have heard others like Mike Rivero and Ryan Dawson say. They point out that he really hasn't exposed any new info or any negative info about Israel's Mossad.

Admitting you are in the dark is the first step,

the 2nd is doing the hard work of educating yourself. The information is all over the net. There is no reason for being uninformed unless you have a blinkered focus on just one propaganda issue.

The information exposed by Wikileaks is major and ongoing and of extreme danger to the Establishment. Also the example of courage set by Wilileaks has awakened many to the need for truthful citizen news.

You would do far better to help spread the ideas of peace and liberty rather than criticize those who risk their lives to do so.

Good points...

I am proud to be a 9/11 Truther calling for a new independent investigation...

Thanks.

No, no, and no. And if they have, it is dis-information

Assange maybe a strange man, but the it often takes out-of-the-square people to do out-of-the-square deeds.
Assange is a man who recognised how deeply corrupt the system is and blew the lid on it...no doubt hoping that Joe citizen (not the plant, Joe the Plumber), would wake up and care. Sadly most of them didn't.
Hauge, who called Assange a criminal, still hangs out with Tony Blair, war criminal of Britain....so there is little hope for Assange.
He faces the death penalty in the US for exposing the TRUTH.

He's been a prisoner about the same length of time

as Bradley Manning. Two imprisoned without conviction for telling the truth. The ultimate crime in an Empire of Lies.

Actually, that is not true.

Actually, that is not true. He hasn't been a prisoner as long as Bradley Manning. He is about to have his own tv show for goodness sake.

reedr3v's picture

I don't think you follow the situation adequately

to be informed. He had a TV show via RT, but it was broadcast from the British location he was confined to, all the while wearing the ankle monitor that tracks his location 24/7, before he escaped imminent arrest by fleeing to the Ecuadorian embassy.

And yes he has been persecuted and confined nearly as long as Bradley Manning.

Well said

Exposing war crimes these days is a crime.
