CNN: Ron Paul Campaign Files 2nd Appeal for LA Delegates

"Washington (CNN) - Ron Paul's presidential campaign isn't done fighting for more delegates at the Republican National Convention.

The Texas congressman's campaign sent a memo to the all RNC members, its counsel's office and the convention's credentials committee Friday evening, ahead of its second appeal to strip Louisiana of its delegates to the convention because of rules that it says were violated during the state convention.

The first appeal was rejected by the committee earlier this month.

"There's no way you can argue with a straight face that rules weren't changed," said Charlie Davis, Louisiana chairman of the Ron Paul campaign.

I would like to slap the talk out of Jason Dore right now. He and the state party is just trying to bend the rules to make delegates vote for Mitt Romney, whereas the purpose of being a delegate is to vote for the nominee that bests represents their views and political beliefs.

If Mitt Romney is not the person they want to vote for why can you force them? And you're just making it hard on the GOP with the conflict of an affidavit; just let the delegates do their job.

They don't want to let the delegates do their job because the

delegates know now that they are all unbound 1st round and they are scared shitless because they know that Paul has much more support than they are letting on.

Reality Check: All Republican Delegates Are "Free Agents" and Unbound

All too true

But it also makes people want to know more about a man who the media blocks

Oh they are going to know when on TV Romney

fails to get 1140 on the 1st ballot round. The room is going to go crazy.

Ron Paul will prevail.

Thanks for this post.

that Ron is not giving up the fight.

Ron/Rand Paul 2016! Constitution Party 2016!

It would have been a lot easier if he hadn't given up on the

He'd also still be in the news and people would still think he was in this.

Right now, the only people who think that are here on DP.

You can't give up on the People and expect to win.

He didn't give up

He didn't want supporters to spend any more of their money running against Diebold electronic voting machines. He said we do wll in caucus states - that's hand counting in the open or it's supposed to be. No doubt the family has been threatened.

Try convincing the American voter of that. Good luck.

Perception is reality.

The perception is Ron Paul is no longer a contender.

People don't understand "not actively campaigning" vs. Suspending vs. Dropping Out.

And in many respects, I'd say it's a distinction without a significant difference.

Effectively, he ended the campaign long ago, and with it went any hope of the nomination. He even said SPECIFICALLY that he WILL NOT be the nominee. People here just refuse to accept that and move on.

with all due respect

this part of the contest does not require the public. whether they think he's running or not matters little.
it's up to the delegates.

"The two weakest arguments for any issue on the House floor are moral and constitutional"
Ron Paul

Yes it is, but without the people behind you, it's hard to keep

your delegates and have them seated no?

If you don't have the perception that your still in the race, then the GOP has an EASY task of dispatching with your delegates. There's NO pressure to follow the rules - NONE.

That's why giving up was so detrimental to this effort.

i agree

it's tough to keep our delegates.
however, the GOP did not drag Ron through the mud.
keeping in mind that we are the minority, it may have been pure genius not to go head to head with the machine.....

or i might be too optimistic.

MSM Propaganda

You should throw that TV out the window and save on the cable bill

I don't own a TV. I'm taking Dr. Paul's words at face value

without adding any feel good spin to them.

I'm not inventing wild scenarios where he lies to his delegates but really intends to be nominated for consideration and fight on the floor for the Party nomination.

No, Dr. Paul said he will not be the nominee, and I'm taking him at his word. That didn't come from the MSM, that came from Dr. Paul.

go back to your robamney website

you'll thank us later on after we win Tampa for America, and see how things start to improve.

I've been here since the beginning. Much to your chagrin, I'm

not going anywhere. (voluntarily)

I have no love for Obama or Romney.

I have no idea why you would think that.

whether you meant it or not

you said it - you are responsible for your message. you negated the only freedom fighting presidential movement and the movement is still active. It's going to Tampa.

He has a strong army of delegates - are chances are strong, if you, I and we try, and IF.

Acknowledging reality doesn't mean I negated Ron

Paul or his campaign.

I've not said anything he didn't say himself with respect to the campaign.

He said he is NOT going to be the nominee.

Get over it.

Now, if you and the delegates want to try to nominate him anyway, and if you manage to get other delegates to vote for him - more power to you. I will jump for joy, do a shot and kiss my computer screen as I watch it live.

But there is NOTHING, ZERO, ZILCH, NADA that I can do about that. If I could be there as a delegate and vote for Paul, I would. If I could be there as a delegate to talk with other delegates and convince them to vote for Paul, I would.

But that isn't what the delegates are there for according to the campaign.

They are there to make platform changes.

I have no interest in that at all.

maybe you should read some

of his other posts before making such ridiculous statements.

if he was positive in the past

he shouldn't be negative now
