Why Do We Do This? Why Do We Fight For Justice in The Republican Party?Submitted by QFish on Sat, 08/18/2012 - 22:45
"Why do we sit down, when all should be standing
And why do we back down at the critical moment
Like running away from the waves of the ocean
We head for the hills with the high tide approaching."
(Liberty by Jordan Page)
Here I sit in the cab of a Chevy truck, with 4 fellow liberty lovers, as we travel down the highway in Alabama. We’ve started our trek across the country to Tampa, Florida for the Republican National Convention. It’s Saturday, the 18th, 4 days sooner than we had planned to leave. We’re prepared to testify and witness in front of the RNC Committee on Contests.
As I sit here and ponder, why do we put ourselves through all this? Why are we trekking across the states to travel to Florida for a political convention of all things? Why are we going to testify in front of a committee from the RNC who does not care about justice? Who does not care about rules? Who does not truly care about the future of our nation? Who does not truly care for the needs of the American people? Why are we going to fight for this?
We’ve put so much time & energy into the Republican party the past few months, especially since Oklahoma’s state convention in May. Yet, we have road blocks put up against time and time again. It’s truly a pity. At our State Convention in May, they put rules up to block us, but we prevailed by God’s grace. We were thrown out, harassed and cheated at our state convention. But, we have come together and pulled through this stronger.
We have been blocked yet again. The Republican party shows us yet again they don’t care. They don’t care about rules. They don’t care about being fair. They don’t truly care about changing the horrible course our nation is on. They don’t care about who the troops want in office. They don’t care. And it disgusts me. Yet, it makes me continue on and fight harder.
The last couple weeks dealing with the RNC committee on contests has been anything but easy. We’ve had deadlines to meet. We’ve had to respond to a multitude of lies & misstatements. It’s taken hours of work. Hours of writing. Hours of attorney-like work. Hours of transcribing. Hours of video editing. Hours of calculating.
Monday, we will walk into the RNC Committee on Contests to present our case, in full, responding to everything we can, Lord willing. But, focusing on the main and blatant issue – the overt breaking of the rules. I am going through all of this with the committee on contests because the truth must stand and I want justice to prevail.
If this was a case in the court of law, we would have already won. It’s not a hard case. Yet, we are dealing with a party that doesn’t blink an eye about injustice. So, I have trust and hope in God that He will bring us through this and let the truth prevail.
I believe in miracles.
That’s the best way to sum it up.
I’m fighting hard because the lives of many depend on this. The lives of our soldiers. The lives of unborn babies. The lives of innocent men, women & children. The lives of American citizens. The lives of my brothers & sisters. The lives of my family & friends.
Because I can still make a difference by being involved, I am going to continue on, until I can no longer do so.
It’s not too late.
We can still have a different nominee. My God can do the impossible, and for that I am truly thankful.
This line brings tears to my eyes:
"Ron Paul, this country needs someone like you
Voting for someone else just won’t do."
Let’s hope a miracle happens
Onward we go!
