The RP campaign is just insufferable

I love liberty and Ron Paul, but this circus of a campaign is just insufferable. I heard from people who worked in Iowa and other states how they made non-nonsensical missteps that were counter-productive to our efforts--and probably costs us that state, which would have given us great momentum.

I can honestly say that my experience dealing with my state GOP has been more pleasant than those dealing with official members of the campaign (and most of my state's party is full of rank and file liberty-hating Republicans). Am I the only one who feels the RP campaign (not the grassroots people--who are accomplishing truly great things) is failing in many respects?

Did anyone else on the delegate Conf. Call today hear Debbie say that the campaign was providing funding assistance to all delegates who requested it, except those who they were unable to get in touch with?

Well they got in touch with me, so after the CC, contacted her...here is the response I got:

Name redacted to remain anonymous on the inter-webs, your request for financial assistance was denied and you were informed of that.

(Fortunately, because of a few people chiping-in [Thanks, btw!], I will still be able to make it, but I am really not happy about this. Also, her email is just rude, IMO)

I think anyone who had much contact with the

campaign sorta feels this way. I used stick up for the campaign, giving them the benifit of the doubt, but after you have a little interaction with them that involves trying to work together, you gain a different perspective. Most people come away wishing they would have never relied on the campaign for anything finding they hurt more than helped.

I don't necessarily blame Ron. I think there were just too many forces trying to neutralize the campaign. Ron Paul would have been better off not even getting a staff and relying 100% on the grassroots. But they got to them. The current state of the campaign is that it is neutralized.

Fundamentally, the campaign

Fundamentally, the campaign is going to suffer because they are facing an uphill battle.

Ron Paul has maybe 10% of the nation and perhaps 15% of the Republican party that liked him before the election started. The rest of the GOP was going to either put the establishment first (Romney, Cain, Gingrich) or vote socially conservative first (Santorum and Bachman) with establishment second.

Ron Paul had the unenvious task of changing years of dogma, and getting people entrenched in one point of view to change. He also had to fight a media. I find it telling that Ron Paul's major media support (other than Nap) came from the left-wing media.

Specific cuts; defense spending: http://rolexian.wordpress.com/2011/01/03/more-detailed-look-a

All the establishment media would marginalize him every time they mentioned him. The GOP hated him. He had no party support. He had to overcome the big money of the establishment while receiving no support.

Add on to that the utter incompetence of Jesse Benton and the staff and you find yourself where we are today.

Romney is toast

Mitt Romney and the RNC stole the nomination from Dr. Paul using various ploys including but not limited to stuffing ballot boxes, changing local convention rules to marginalize Paul delegates, changing convention venues to marginalize Dr. Paul's delegates, throwing away or not counting Ron Paul delegate votes, beating up and injuring Ron Paul delegates, and voiding Ron Paul delegate seats in violation of party rules. How can a man, whose campaign staff acted in his name, be trusted to keep his word?

I want Dr. Paul to suggest a VP. A write in vote is no good without a VP included, but, rather than throw my vote away, I will write in Dr. Paul without a VP just to let the RNC know that I am tired of tweedle-dee versus tweedle-dumb elections. I want a clear choice for my vote.

I cannot bring myself to vote for an Establishment goon. Romney is dishonest with us now, with RNC approval and complicity? Wait until he's in the White House.

Debbie Hopper. . .Busts Some Serious. ..

. . .BEhind at her job.

I had a lot of interaction with Ms. Hopper in 2007 & 2008. She is one efficient person - got on an issue - followed through - great ending.

In regard to your waylay of Ms. Hopper - did you ever consider that she's the proverbial one armed paper hanger - trying to hang paper on 30 walls at once? She's not a rude person - she's just uber busy.

Back up - think - give the woman some deserved kudos - she has done an exemplary job. . .

I was just commenting

I was just commenting about this on another thread...

"Not to mention the potential can of worms they may have created for themselves and the delegates with the financial assistance for delegates program. They announced it. Raised money for it. Then rejected every delegate that applied for the assistance because at some point (either before or after the money bomb) they knew they might be breaking the law if they gave a dime of money to any delegate. Now enter the SuperPACs making offers to delegates, and delegates putting up chip-ins. Sticky legal territory.

The FEC law dictates that convention delegates are responsible for their own expenses out of their own pocket - not allowed to accept monetary or financial donations, of any kind, from any one, whatsoever. The individual or party that provides it, as well as the delegate who accepts it can be subject to prosecution, fines, decertification, all kind of trouble."

Total B.S. lies. Delegates are free to raise money.

You smell like a lying, stinking troll.

Do Delegates Have to File Reports with the FEC?

No. Individual delegates are not required to register or file regular reports of the funds they raise and spend for their personal delegate activity. 11 CFR 110.14(d)(3) and (e)(2). However, delegates acting as a group may have to file reports as a delegate committee. See "Do delegate committees have to file FEC reports?" below.

How are Funds Raised and Spent for Delegate Activity Treated Under Federal Campaign Finance Law?

Funds raised and spent for delegate selection are considered "contributions" and "expenditures" made for the purpose of influencing a federal election1and are therefore subject to the federal law's prohibitions.2 11 CFR 110.14(c)(1) and (2). Although the law generally does not limit contributions per delegate, 11 CFR 110.1(m)(1) and 110.14(d), certain other contribution limits apply. See e.g., 11 CFR 110.5(e). Please note that these prohibitions and limits apply to contributions of goods and services (in-kind contributions) as well as to monetary contributions. 11 CFR 100.52(d).
Who is Prohibited From Contributing to a Delegate?

Individual delegates may not accept any contributions from sources prohibited from making contributions in connection with federal elections. 11 CFR 110.14(c)(2). These sources include:

Corporations (including banks and nonprofit corporations);
Labor organizations;
Foreign nationals or businesses (except "green card" holders--those admitted to the United States for permanent residence); and
Federal government contractors (such as partnerships and sole proprietors with federal contracts). 11 CFR 110.20; 114.2; 115.2, 115.4 and 115.5.

What are the Limits on Contributions to Delegates?

Although contributions to an individual delegate are not subject to any per delegate limit, they do count against an individual contributor's biennial contribution limit of $117,000. 11 CFR 110.1(m); 110.5(e) and 110.14(d)(1).3

I refused to open a account on this site because it's the most melodramatic political news site on the web. I got tired of reading cunnys like you insulting heroes for sport. I figured it was getting bout time to sign up and bring a few folks with me. Hope you don't mind, sugar.

Fancy Shmancy Fine Print:

You do raise some very

You do raise some very legitimate concerns. Unintended consequences can be devastating, and sometimes it seems like the campaign does not fully vet a project or plan before implementing it.

The attacks against Ron Paul are insufferable

To attack the leading defender of liberty is self-destructive.

Deb: Perhaps you could dip

Deb: Perhaps you could dip into your strip club fund.

WF: What kind of person would seek to deprive working single moms of their sole source of income?

Deb: No idea what single working moms has to do with anything, Zach. To my knowledge, you are not a single working mom.

It's like talking to a brick wall...

She wrote back suggesting I

She wrote back suggesting I take money out of my "strip club fund" (seriously) lol

thats because YOU do have s strip club fund

You had the nerve to ask people to donate their hard earned money to you for a "strip club" fund while you are in Tampa (see previous posts). You also said that you would be voting for PAUL RYAN. If anyone had seen your true colors I doubt they would have donated to you. Rather they probably saw your name on a long list of delegates that needed chip in support and out of the love of liberty threw some money your way. I think its horrible that you would take advantage of such giving people.

1) I never asked anyone to

1) I never asked anyone to donate to my strip club fund. I simple made a strip club fund and invited people to contribute if they wish--I only asked for people to contribute to my general travel expenses fund.

2) You're an idiot. I never once said I was voting for Ryan, and even if I did, that is my choice. There are some good Ron Paul supporters that support Ryan. I considered doing so before making my decision, which you could have found, if you were able to use a simple search function--but that's beyond your capabilities.

I am still accepting donations for my non-strip club fund and my strip club fund, in case you want to donate.

get out of here youre an embarrassment.

For some reason, we have some

For some reason, we have some really naive people here at the Dailypaul.com who think criticism of Jesse Benton, John Tate, and the campaign destroys Ron Paul's good image.

I have never thought Dr. Paul was perfect. But I would still vote for him in a heartbeat. But his campaign has been run horribly. Anyone who disagrees is in deep denial!

It makes me very sad too. And frustrated given the amount of money I contributed to the campaign. If only Bozo the clown had managed this campaign, instead of Benton and Tate, we may have won more states!

I know of several 2012 campaigns that were ran much worse

Gingrich (not even on the ballot in his home state), Santorum (failed to get on ballots and file slates of delegates in numerous states), Huntsman (total disaster), Perry (one failure after another until withdrawl), Cain (was this even a real campaign?), Bachmann (fizzled after first straw poll, top staff quitting), etc.

Almost all of them in debt!

Debbie Hopper

You're right: that is rude and unprofessional. That's the only kind of email Debbie Hopper knows how to send. What a group. The exact last people you would ever want working for you, and each of them is in the exact capacity you would never want them in.

That kinda reminds me of how

That kinda reminds me of how our State Coordinator put herself in charge of "Public Relations" after/while pissing off everybody the entire state GOP by calling them "gangster republicans".

It's like an alcoholic deciding he is well-qualified to manage a liquor store.

Trapped by bad assumptions

The fact that you can't wait another week to post this makes me

question your true intentions. What did you accomplish for Dr. Paul by posting this? I see what you are and everyone reading your post sees what you really are.

Laughing Out Loud

lol What is this? I cannot be serious.

This campaign people

really suck. I wonder whether they're so inept or the whole thing is infiltrated.

No question it is

No question it is incompetence. If they were intentionally trying to fail, they wouldn't need to try so hard.

Please tell me how it will cost you $3-$4k to go to Tampa as a delegate when youre from Arkansas?
Cant wait to hear your reply...
This ought to be rich...

She probably replied to you like that because she doesnt believe you are a delegate, if any of this is true, that is the million dollar question...

That's the estimate given in my state delegation materials...

I was able to reduce my travel costs a bit, but I had to suffer the indignity of booking a coach fare, so I will be stuck in the greyhound bus portion of the plane with all the riffraff.

Do you hold the entire world in contempt...

Or just the riff-raff in coach?

Im sure the Rif-Raf will be thrilled to have you sitting with them.

I dont believe a word you say.
