FOX News Deleted Debate Segment Documented for Posterity
Submitted by nathalja on Sat, 01/12/2008 - 02:48
I just wrote a piece documenting the whole break-down of events.
It links to the original 5,000+ diggs and the now deleted YouTube page, then shows the diggers response to the deletion, then it has a link to a still active non-YouTube clip.
I typed-out the entire transcript of that segment, so you can read Paul's words.
Just in case that clip gets removed too.

Write-in candidate.....
You can still write in his name as your choice in the general election. That's how I plan to say "No Way" to any other republican besides Ron Paul.
Fox...
news for children
Something to think about
This is my first comment, my first time voting and first time ever getting involved. I have been following this site and others that support Ron Paul. I'm so frustrated with the direction this country is headed that I supported for 20 yrs of military service. I get spun up when I hear others I work with who don't take this election serious. I walk a fine line when I'm at work, I have never been the one that brings up politics in the work place.
Any way. Ever since RP was left out of the FOX debate, I was wondering why nobody seems to be talking about the reaction of the other candidates to the obvious snubbing? I may have missed something, but I do not recall hearing Huckabee, Romney, McCain, Giuliani or Thompson standing up for the process of electing a representative of the Republican party. Not a single one of them stood up for the process. Is RP that big of a threat that they can't ask for a fair election process? It's one thing for a canadiate to go after another, but for the media to do the dirty work so they don't have to is a bunch of BS!!!
That is why I'm taking my first step into this computer age of communication and voicing my concern. Believe me when I say I could go on about how fed up I am with the way politicians take advantage of photo ops with military personnel, and say they know what they are feeling. Thats more BS that they are feeding the country!! Politicians will never be one on one and really hear what they have to say. Sorry about that, my mind went somewhere else.

it graphically shows you where you fall with respect to the candidates, if you get some of your coworkers to take it, they might be surprised at who they agree with
Welcome
and thank you for the wise observation of the other Republican candidates. Their lack of support for Dr. Paul's right to participate along with their rude and snide comments and laughter directed at Ron Paul during the debates that he was allowed to attend has convinced me that NONE of them will receive my vote if he does not win the nomination. I pledge to set out the general election if this occurs and urge all fellow supporters to do the same.
Living History
Welcome to a living history class! Those in power (and intend to remain so) have always controlled history and education. 150 years ago, northern newspapers who editorialized about a state’s right to succeed (government by consent of the governed) were closed, publishers arrested by Lincoln’s orders and thrown into the infamous Lafayette prison. Habeas corpus denied. Even Senators who agreed with the Constitution were arrested and forcibly denied their congressional seats. The only media allowed to publish (before and after the war) were those who pledged support to Lincoln’s agenda.
We all know and will remember what Bush and his corporate cronies who control Faux News are up to, but will our great grandchildren? This may be our once-in-a-lifetime chance to truly unite the country under the Constitution. We MUST WIN!

Great Job
This needs to be posted a lot! What about foreign video sites? Would be great if Al Jazeera would post it!! make a Great story for them too...................
Whole Debate online at you tube
I have seen the whole debate on youtube and it contains this "missing clip." Does anyone have any proof this happened or are we just spreading rumors?
Whole debate starts here:

Well...
The original digg post was about FOX cutting that segment from the TV re-broadcast.
It HAD a YouTube video of the segment, but now the video is gone:
"This video has been removed due to terms of use violation."

It's still on Youtube.
I'm watching it there right now. Part 7 of 8.
The one that Scaningthewaves put on.
Thank you for putting all
Thank you for putting all that together. Now, I am wondering if it is true that this segment was edited out of the reairing of the debate. Do we know that that is in fact true? Does Ron Paul's campaign know about this?
It is true!
I only saw it live, but I live on the East Coast. Supposedly those on the West Coast who watched the re-broadcast noticed the missing segment.

Rupert Murdoch
RM is a very powerful evil. This is a fact and not an over-statement.This man wields more power than most politicians. Still, he reaps in more power. He has recently purchased The Wall Street Journal, one of the last of privately owned newspapers and news media. Every person in this country should be outraged at this man and those leaders that let him get to where he is, no matter your political affiliation. His insanity is being worshipped by millions. If you think what I say is not real, your not paying attention.
Keep contactng Fox advertisers/affiliates
Like the debate exclusion, this act of censorship can backfire on fox, and then this message will get out to more.
America is sick, call a doctor! Dr. Ron Paul.
This is going nowhere. To
This is going nowhere. To think that Faux even could block content on the internet is laughable. Despite what they would have you believe anonymous hosting is possible.
Nice work!
How does Fox get to remove these? Is it a copyright violation? If that were the case, wouldn't they have thousands that should be removed?

I've been
looking for Bill Maher's email address but haven't found it yet.
Ok..
So there is NO DOUBT that it is a media conspiracy to silence Paul and disuade support for him..
I know that sounds paranoid... but think about it... It IS REALLY HAPPENING..
WE ARE IN A FASICIST SOCIETY!
and NO OTHER MEDIA GIVES A SHIT CAUSE THEY ARE PART OF THE CONSPIRACY TOO..
THE PROOF WAS IN THE RE-BROADCAST
YEP!

I know
I am commenting multiple times on this and I'll stop but it just seems so HUGE to me.
The biggest point is that Fox edited Ron Paul out of their re-broadcasts. They showed a censored and edited debate on TV and didn't inform the viewers. That is a HUGE story. If people hear that, they will want to see the clip. They will be dying with curiosity to see what Fox doesn't want to show them.
Fox falsified the debate. This needs to get to the other networks. Don't let this one die! That was Ron Paul's best answer of the night and this gives it the potential to get repeated national attention.
Not only was it wrong for Fox to do it, we must take advantage of this. It's bigger than Ron Paul being excluded from the NH forum. This shows a great clip of Ron Paul that is exactly WHAT and WHY Fox doesn't want the public to hear his message. This is BIG - I'm screaming here!
Tucker, Maybe or Jay Leno!
Seriously, I don't think CNN or MSNBC will cover it as news because they will use the excuse "edited for time" and not want to jeopardize themselves in the future.
However, Tucker has nothing to fear, pointing it out as a supporter. And late night shows don't either.
I know - Bill Mahr!!!
I'm sure Bill Mahr would LOVE to cover this!

The biggest point
is that Fox edited out Ron Paul from the re-broadcast. Not only is that censoring Ron Paul, it is the equivalent of falsifying the debate. That, to me, is as big a story as them excluding him from the NH forum.
Other networks like CNN may not care about Fox pulling the video from youtube, but I bet they would run the story about Fox re-broadcasting a censored debate and not informing the viewers that they had edited it from the original. That is a big journalism story and is worth focusing on.
This could actually end up getting the clip national attention.
I know.
My article says that. Someone realized that they re-broadcast the debate without that part, so then someone put it on youtube and digged it. It blew up super-fast, then FOX removed the video, then there was a digg about that (now buried), and there is a non-youtube clip of it.
My blog is actually on a GOP site, so I get a lot of weird responses, but who knows, maybe someone will see the light.
I agree, it is better to outright exclude him than to expunge reality down the memory hole. But, that's OK, they hired Frank Luntz, and he knows that the live debate was simply malreported and had to be rectified by making Ron Paul an unperson.
Read my post on the actual live debate, it covers the real, live-action propaganda machine at work:
