Video. Mitt Romney Claims to Now support Fed Audit.

In a clear nod to Ron Paul’s growing influence within the Republican party, today Mitt Romney publicly took a stand in favor of auditing the Federal Reserve at a town hall in New Hampshire. Do you believe him? Vote in our poll, below.

"Very plain and simple, the answer is yes. The Federal Reserve should be accountable. We should see what they’re doing."

However, Mitt Romney did maintain the status-quo position of “keeping the Fed independent.”

"I don’t want to have Congress run the Fed, by the way. I want to keep it independent…There are very few groups that I would not want to give the keys to. One of them is Congress."

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio -- Mitt Romney delivered his fieriest denunciation yet of President Barack Obama in front of the stately sandstone courthouse here last week, arguing that Obama has besmirched the office of the presidency, divided Americans and taken modern-day campaigning to a new low.

"Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago, and let us get about rebuilding and reuniting America," Romney said Aug. 14.

The speech received a lot of attention as a new and forceful turn for the presumptive GOP nominee, but it was actually the culmination of weeks of transformation in Romney's tone toward his rival. It is a shift that has occurred because of strategic imperatives, Romney's altered view of Obama and anger at how he believes the president and his allies have waged their campaign.

During the primaries, Romney would routinely preface his criticism of the president's handling of the economy by saying that Obama was a "nice guy" or a "nice fellow" who was "just in over his head" and had "no idea about how the private economy works," a message delivered with seeming sorrow and resignation rather than hot anger.

Multiverse Mitt

Mitt doesn't need the theory of multiple universes for us to know there are versions of him that would support infinite variations of this issue.

Mods, can you embed this?

I think I'm the first person to get this video up on Youtube. I needs to be seen.

par for the course!

It's another ho-hum flip flop for Mitt Romney, but it's historic that Ron Paul and his supporters have had this effect on the political landscape. Pretty awesome, actually.
