Ron Paul Can Win The Nomination Just As James A. Garfield Won In 1880!

I just got back from my Cherokee County GOP meeting and I had to keep reminding people that we don't and won't have a nominee for the Republican Party until next week and that the delegates are unbound and Ron Paul can still win. I had to remind them that Garfield won on the thirty-fifth ballot.

Read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1880_Republican_National_Conven...

So it can happen again as it did in 1880!

It's also important

... not to forget what happened to Garfield just a year after this convention.

I forgot about that

but very true!

Thank you. It's actually true.

It's actually possible. Paul could, in fact, win the nomination. That is a true statement. What are the chances?...
I've been looking at this in a USA vs Soviets 1980 Olympics hockey frame all along. We ALL knew the US had little chance for gold, but those of us that actually stuck with the US on TV tasted the sweetest victories. Those who wrote us off claimed the dregs. So...
Could we still win this? Yes, in fact, we can. It's true. It's up to those delegates. An awakening may do it. Something could happen...who knows. A miracle?

we can

yes we can
yes you can!

Don't believe in miracles...

Make them happen.

What If...

What if Ron Paul wins the nomination then will they allow Him to speak?
Fact is He's already been nominated by over 5 States anyways so Ron Paul should not need an invitation.

my question is...

If Dr. Paul were to win the nomination what would be the response of the MSM, and Obama/Romney Administration?

Obama acknowledged that Romney was the nominee along time ago. What would he say now? "Oh, sorry citizens of the US, I and my administration are too incompetent to realize that Romney did not infact have the nomination clinched."

Same goes for the MSM, this is why I think even if we were to legally win the nomination for Dr. Paul TPTB would not allow it. They have already done everything in their power to insure it that Romney wins and will continue to do so. I think if Dr. Paul won they would just deny the results and continue on with the coronation of Romney because those are the type of people we are dealing with. And besides us, and some independents who who would stand up and revolt against this kind of corruption? Too many people are still asleep I do not think we will have majority of the population on outside until things get much worse in the coming 5 - 10 years.

Well, we can at least

Well, we can at least do our best to make it happen!

Nice story. Thanks.

You never know what could happen.

I'm seriuosly

hoping Ron Paul wins the nomination next week but you have to remember that your link says that there were 14 people up for the Republican Nomination, today there are only 2. Also another thing is that Wikipedia is not a credible source of information because anyone can edit it. I could go on there right now and write that Ron Paul won the 1880 Republican Nomination and it would stay that way for a while. I have edited Wikipedia before (concerning the FED's responsibility for the Great Depression) and you should always use info that is from credible sources like government documents or news publications.

Actually Santorum can still

Actually Santorum can still be eligible for nomination..

Santorum already said

If the delegates are freed by the Richard C. Gilbert case to vote their conscience that he would jump back in. If I'm not mistaken he has the 5 states to do it as well.

That would be a heck of a fight because a lot of the Christian conservative sheep would jump away from Romney and toward Santorum. The ones that did jump from Santorum would be hard to sway as well.

Rick Sanatorum, he has conceded hasn't he? But I believe that the Romney delegates that aren't totally mindless idiots that believe what they are told, are seeing that he is a bad choice and if the GOP wants to win then Ron Paul is the GOP's only chance.

Yeah, and technically, anyone

Yeah, and technically, anyone could be nominated with support from 5 states, including Palin.

would be something wouldn't it, Sara Palin. Whatever the speculation I am sure there will many surprises from the RNC.

lurking in shadows

... Jeb. Bush. ( jus' sayin' )

And if he wins before that, but decides to pass the baton?

If he decides he doesn't want it and passes the baton over to someone like Sarah Palin? In this level of scenario would you accept?

Would you follow his lead? The very future of this country may depend on lightning-quick decisions.

downvotes there

saw this on facebook-a note to delegates about roll call vote

Someone check it out and see if it is correct:

ATTENTION ALL DELEGATES FOR THE CONVENTION IF YOU WANT TO ASSURE A ROLL CALL VOTE FOR YOUR DELEGATION YOU NEED TO INVOLKE RULE 37 of the RNC call : rule 37 b : (b) In the balloting, the vote of each state shall be announced by the chairman of such state's delegation, or his or her designee; and in case the vote of any state shall be divided, the chairman shall announce the number of votes for each candidate, or for or against any proposition; HERE IS THE KEY PART "but if exception is taken by any delegate from that state to the correctness of such announcement by the chairman of that delegation, the chairman of the convention shall direct the roll of members of such delegation to be called, and the result shall be recorded in accordance with the vote of the several delegates in such delegation." THIS MEANS THAT ANY DELEGATE FOR ANY REASON CAN INVOKE RULE 37 B and assure a ROLL CALL vote of their entire states delegation.

yes , though

. . . . . GOP breaks their own rules again and again over and over state after state. I will say Colorado was much better than 2008 under Dick Wadhams...

... Many voters and activists remember how the 2008 State Assembly under Wadhams violated party rules to spurn Ron Paul voters...
