Big 3 Networks Limit RNC Coverage

To 1 hour a night! Hmmm....

ABC, NBC, and CBS will only air 1 hour of coverage per evening from 10:00 pm to 11:00 pm eastern. Heard that on the radio this morning from a local CBS affiliate.

Why only a single hour? And why so darn late at night?

I would expect at least 2 hours of coverage, from 8-10 pm - but the Big 3 don't want to put the RNC on prime time television.

What are they afraid of? Bad ratings?

How about C-SPAN?

Don't expect them to mention C-SPAN but a lot of times we can get full coverage with C-SPAN even when the others are limiting their time in order to cover only Romney and lesser important activities.

No news is good news and less news is better?

The more folks hear from them, the worse neo-cons sound.

Any truly great news, such as Paul delegates standing up and speaking out, would obviously rock the corporate news world and draw massive interest.

Sadly, we can't expect them to give Liberty any open coverage, no matter what ratings advantage it might give them; lest they should weaken their paradigm control tool.

Dark deeds to be kept dark

these networks are making a mistake

As these "Big 3" networks do their part to keep most of America in the dark--they are losing more and more credibilty. Tom Woods is right--these people maybe the gate keepers but because of the internet the walls have collapsed. The image of these irrelevant gates standing attached to no walls is great. These networks should stick to what they are good at: being invisible. Have you seen their ratings?

You can bet they're right. No one will watch. Why should they? The public has been told Romney already won.

The TV media could have properly reported this very exciting race and had a cliff-hanger of a media event where no one knows how the delegation will go, but no, they decided to declare it moot.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

are you freaking kidding

are you freaking kidding me...and who watches cspan?

C-Span coverage of RNC

"Every minute of both conventions will be televised live on C-SPAN, streamed live on C-SPAN.org, carried live by C-SPAN Radio, and be immediately catalogued and archived in the C-SPAN Video Library." http://www.newsonnews.net/cspan/15471-c-span-to-provide-live...

In addition to sending e-mails to local tea party and civic groups, we can write letters to the editors of our local papers and town news blogs noting that the networks will have only have limited coverage but that C-Span will have live, 24-hour coverage - noting the LOCAL CABLE CHANNEL and a link to the C-Span site: http://www.c-span.org/Campaign2012/

That is what I was waiting to hear

Thank you so much for posting mdefarge!

bad programming idea

If they don't cover more than 1 hour per night, someones head will be rolling for the bad ratings of their regular programs. I believe this convention is 'one' to be watching. The international press is going to be all over it and Ron Paul will be the focus of much discussion.

You bet your sweet bippy that MSM will be covering the OWS protesters hoping for some violence to report.

Ron Paul 2012; Rand Paul 2016

CSpan is covering it though.

CSpan is covering it though. During a call-in segment yesterday, someone called to remind them that Ron Paul had won at least five states and would be nominated from the floor and Romney's nominee status wasn't going to be as clear cut as they make it out to be. It was live too so they couldn't cut it. I was so proud! :)

Blessings )o(

C-Span/RNC - Thanks, Maeve

As noted above, coverage has already started for prep work on the platform. Also, in addition to 24-hour coverage of the event itself, on Washington Journal, people will be able to call in and talk to some of the parties involved.

Of course, bad ratings!

Most Americans are currently involved with the fall football schedule or who Ashton Kutcher is dating to be bothered with all this "boring political stuff"...besides, (and I hear this over-and-over) "it doesn't really affect me"...or..."it's all corrupt and there's nothing I can do about it, so I just don't pay any attention"...or..."they're all crooks, it doesn't make any difference if I vote or not".

Silence isn't always golden....sometimes it's yellow.

"The liberties of a people never were, nor ever will be, secure, when the transactions of their rulers may be concealed from them." - Patrick Henry

And that has been and will

continue to be our biggest obstacle off all. The MSM has done its job well. Those Americans get dumber and dumber as they get lulled into a deeper state of apathy. But, they still check under their beds at night and thank veterans for their service, thinking the military is keeping us safe from the "enemy" with their service overseas.

MSM doesn't want egg in their

MSM doesn't want egg in their face. They know with all of the corrupt decisions that have been made during this election that the people are angry and they not only did nothing, but they acted as a catalist to it. They don't want to show America what the Ron Paul supporters are really like, they want to keep them the pot smoking, rude, cheating college students that they labeled us as all thru the election.
They don't want to cover the real Tampa election because it will be the opposite of what they have been saying all along...And let's not forget, they also know what is about to go down. The Romney campaign/GOP are about to cheat 1 last time to get Ron Paul out. They have a plan, and I doubt that we will know for sure how people really voted.
I have been hearing all along that the votes in Tampa will be counted in public and out loud. Does anyone want to bet that this year it will be different? And they will have a reason ready for you too when you ask....Get ready delegates/alternates. Be knowledgeble, communicate to others, be brave and be ready.

That one hour of coverage

That one hour of coverage will be exactly like the O'rielly show.... Produced, cut, and edited to the hilt!

It would be best if they did not air any of it....

Oh you mean like the Olympics

I hope they don't spoil who wins in a bumper right before it's aired.

This could actually be good news

Whatever they show on the networks will be after a time delay anyway, and since it is only one hour per night, those who get live streams going are gonna be very popular!

WOW! They are scared!

This is AMAZING. Do I smell a Hail Mary? Go Ron Paul!

In Liberty

Yes, fear is part of the reason.

The main reason, imo, is that it's just the continuation of the process of dumbing down the American people. Smells more like sheep.

Does this mean that they can forbid and interfere with OTHER

news media, foreign & domestic, from sending out live, extensive TV coverage?

*** For example, can Ben Swann or Scott Horton sit there on the floor and give a continuous coverage of the entire convention??? (. . . making the THREE 'major' main-stream-media totally irrelevant :-)***

Good point

definitely. Ben, are you reading this?

Even neocon speeches can be analyzed and annotated with

rigorous logic to benefit liberty-loving viewers. Live interviews of RP delegates from across the country will be interesting as well, esp if we can hear the first hand accounts of the type of obstacles they had to overcome to come to Tampa.

they think if they ignore you

they think if they ignore you , you will go away

These conventions used to mean something. Not anymore.

It has become a four day love fest/coronation. Perhaps that is why the big three networks are not going to give it a lot of coverage. It is all going to center around Willard Romney and NOBODY cares about that dull, boring, POS. Remember the tiny groups that turned out to see him during the primaries? That is why it will receive such little coverage.

The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men and women to not support Ron Paul!

just curious....

How many hours did the democratic national convention going on in last election cycle?

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

More than I expected

I would expect outrage at MSNBC for covering just an hour a night, but I wouldn't expect all 3 networks to devote hours per day multiplied by several days of their broadcast programming slots for the RNC. I could see FOX dropping their regular lineup, but only because they want to promote it for political reasons.

So between FOX, FNC, MSNBC, CSPAN, and CNN, there should be plenty of coverage without even having to turn to ABC, NBC and CBS.

The revolution will not be televised

But I bet arnold gets a chance to pump up his many movies coming out.

Woah!!! We have an

Woah!!! We have an opportunity to get Paul's message out for 3 hours!!! This is unheard of! This must be the work of the all powerful.
