FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

A WELL-DEFINED LOW PRESSURE PRESSURE IS LOCATED ABOUT 725 MILES
EAST OF THE LESSER ANTILLES. THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY HAS INCREASED
AND BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED NEAR THE CENTER DURING THE PAST SEVERAL
HOURS. IF THIS RECENT DEVELOPMENT TREND CONTINUES...THEN A TROPICAL
DEPRESSION COULD FORM LATER THIS MORNING. THIS SYSTEM HAS A HIGH
CHANCE...NEAR 100 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING
THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES WESTWARD AT 20 TO 25 MPH. THIS LARGE
DISTURBANCE COULD REACH THE LESSER ANTILLES BY WEDNESDAY...AND
INTERESTS IN THAT AREA SHOULD CLOSELY MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS
SYSTEM SINCE TROPICAL STORM WATCHES COULD SOON BE REQUIRED FOR
PORTIONS OF THOSE ISLANDS.

It's important to note that ALL hurricanes are tropical cyclones by nature, but not all tropical cyclones are hurricanes. Generally most Atlantic hurricanes form from African Easterly Waves. Most signs are pointing to this system intensifying to at least a tropical depression, but right now, this thing is being called INVEST 94. Calling it TD 92 would imply that it is roughly the 92nd tropical depression of the 2012 Atlantic Hurricane Season.

As far as the track and timing of this system goes, it's very uncertain right now beyond 63-65W, especially since this system has not yet been named and no special atmospheric samples from reconnaissance have been fed into the hurricane models.

These storms can stretch the length of the state, 300 some-odd miles. Miami might have the eye, but Tampa will get a deluge of rain, often over 10 inches in one day and gusty wind.

This Storm is too far away to predict at this point. Check back for sure in 3-4 days. Katrina made landfall on Aug 25 I think it was. It snapped pine trees that were thicker than telephone poles 80 miles inland Mississippi.
