UPDATE 8/23/2012 pm: Large TD With 100% Chance Of Hurricane Development - Most Current NOAA Models Are Tracking WEST of Tampa.Submitted by 1777free4all on Mon, 08/20/2012 - 23:34
UPDATE THURS: GOP Governor Rick Scott said the est. hurricane "track" has "fortunately" moved a little further west, "more into the gulf"....
did not mention convention from what i heard. Had a positive aura on convention happenings, but nothing said.
Update, Weds 10pm cst:
Local 2 Houston, and the National Weather service models have shifted, ever so slightly to the west, bringing the hurricane just west of Tampa and more into the gulf of Mexico then had been previously determined. This still puts the storm in striking distance and places Tampa on the dirty side of the storm.
It is only expected to be a cat 1, but is a very large and widespread storm.
Link now available.

Source: Local 2 Houston, NBC affiliate hurricane expert,
Will be up with in 24 hours after broadcast.
Frank Billingsly, just finished the Mon 7 day weather outlook. 7 hurricane models(out of 10) are tracking TD 9 (soon to be Hurricane Issac) right up through Cuba and headed due north reaching Tampa during the opening convention ceremonies. (Mon or Tues) landfall.
To be clear.
This current Tropical depression has a 90% chance of hurricane development(NOAA) and 7 out of 10 models show it headed right through the heart of Tampa.
Is only 7 days out.
Local 2 has a very good reputation for calling and tracking hurricanes.
On a scale of 1-10, I personally give it a 9 of hitting Tampa.
Every model he had up drew lines right to Tampa.
Is this news ironic or what?
I can read the headlines now!
"Paul wins! His delegates showed up in the hurricane and nominated him from the floor with NO opposition"!
will post channel 2 article when link is available, usually with in 24 hours of airtime.
