RNC Platform Committee Rejects NDAA Opposition Plank But Approves Paper Trail Audit of Electronic Votes

"One of our people in the platform committee in Tampa said they called the question to end debate on the NDAA plank and defeated it. I guess we need our POTUS to have the power of indefinite detention."
"Platform just adopted language our guys presented calling for a paper audit trail of electronic votes."
"Got interviewed by HuffPo and Politico, can't wait to see how I get misquoted."
"I gave huffpo the 'Romney can't win' speech--that's a rather large thing to risk getting misquoted on but oh well. Go hard or go home."
"Adopted language against free speech zones we wrote!"
"That is our 'repeal not replace' amendment they just adopted. I wrote it expecting it to fail."
I'm heading to Tampa this Saturday! Can't wait!

acting on the assumption that Dr. Paul doesn't get the nomination, I will have no problem voting for GJ (Texas doesn't allow write-ins). I am ashamed to say, when Romney flipped over the fed, I was going to give them a second look (ducks to avoid rotten tomatoes)

Will there be an audit trail of votes cast in Tampa
from the convention delegates?
Not holding my breath on that one.
Highly unlikely! However....
RNC Rule 37b:
(b) In the balloting, the vote of each state shall be announced by the chairman of such state’s delegation, or his or her designee; and in case the vote of any state shall be divided, the chairman shall announce the number of votes for each candidate, or for or against any proposition; but if exception is taken by any delegate from that state to the correctness of such announcement by the chairman of that delegation, the chairman of the convention shall direct the roll of members of such delegation to be called, and the result shall be recorded in accordance with the vote of the several delegates in such delegation.
The issue here though, is will Rick Perry (and other state delegation leaders) and/or the convention chairmen recognize our objections or just turn off the microphones and ignore us.

To clarify...
I don't have all the details, but I assume our people proposed a platform plank which opposed the NDAA. Debate was short. The question was called, and the plank was defeated which means the GOP platform supports the NDAA. :/
Shouldn't be a surprise, but the approval of a paper trail plank for electronic voting machines is surprising!
