Will Ron Paul Supporters Make Rand Paul Uncomfortable at the Convention?

Rand Paul seems content with playing the game & getting cozy with the Republican party. Most who are part of the Ron Paul movement & defend his maneuvers say it’s all part of a bigger strategy. Without a doubt, they’ll be a few Ron Paul delegates at the convention, who are not comfortable with the Republican Party or their presumptive nominee, Mitt Romney.

Rand Paul is put in an awkward spot. He’s been invited to speak at the convention, on behalf of the party and Mitt Romney. But if he mentions the name “Romney”, there’s a good chance the Ron Paul supporters will boo loudly. This will probably make Rand uneasy, as he’s trying to show he’s a team player, while his team of supporters are booing the presumptive nominee.

Each of us is our own individual.

We must stand on our own two feet.

Delegates have a job, a duty, at convention. They must do what is right and not be concerned with those who attempt to squelch voices.

Delegates, get it done. Do not let 2008 happen again.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

Divide & Conquer

This article falls for a divide and conquer attack, whether conscious of it or not.
The issues surrounding Rand Paul's support of Romney SECOND TO HIS FATHER RON PAUL has been trumped up to such an extreme as to make it an obvious pitfall for us.

Ultimately these issues of Rand Paul's empty endorsement does not matter. What matters is our own individual integrity to uphold truth, justice, and liberty for all times both present and future so we can look back at history and see what liberty made of such great men who upheld it. In being true to this integrity we unite in spirit and the great works of people like Ron Paul will be but one note in a symphony of the r3VOLution.

Let Rand do his job, let me do mine, and you have your own job to play. Stay focused in your endeavors and be wary of any opposition to put us against ourselves. Though divided we may fall in battle, we forever stand united in truth and liberty.

Isn't Rand only showing up via Video anyway?

or has that changed since yesterday?

No, Rand is physically

No, Rand is physically attending. There will be a tribute video to Ron Paul before Rand speaks.

The tribute video will not talk about the major reasons WE support Dr. Paul, it will talk about why some mainstream Repubs have some respect for Dr. Paul. So it's going to leave out End the Fed, gold standard, anti-globalism, non-interventionism, civil liberties, War on Drugs, etc.

I do not like Rand

I like Ron and supported him because I was sick of the political games and bullshit talking politicians. Rand does nothing for me, therefore I will not support any future endeavors he takes. Furthermore, I have a great deal of respect for my father. I honor and respect him, and would help improve any project that he had been working on is whole life, free of cost, because he is my father. Ron's revolution is his lifelong project, and Rand took a huge dump on it by endorsing Romney on HANNITY'S show. Yes, Hannity. That is a big F*** You to the delegates who were getting beaten up by the Romneybots. I have 0 respect for Rand, and will continue to listen to his father until the day he dies. Ron is a once in a lifetime politician, and there will never be another like him. I await the day another honest no-bullshitter steps up to the plate, but I'm not hopeful. Gary Johnson? lol. he is a complete joke, so do not mention him to me.

I feel you.

To all of you who say booing is disrespectful...

What about the 1976 convention? Was Regan not being a "team player" when his delegates boo'd Ford and and disrupted the convention? Give me a break. What about 1952 when Eisenhower stole the convention from Robert Taft, should his delegates have been "respectful"?

As Dr. Paul himself says, why have a convention if everything is decided in advance? The campaign wants us to play nice so that they can fold us into the Republican party machine so that they can hold up their end of the bargain and take their positions in the GOP establishment. Thanks Jesse and John!

I will listen to every single word of his (and other speakers')

speech(es) with my full attention and express my heartfelt approval for any liberty-enhancing Constitutional statements. I promise to NEVER "politely" clap my hands for any suggestions to expand government with larger budget (for welfare & warfare), more regulations & taxes. Or any policies to curtail our civil liberties are proffered.

I wouldn't be automatically cheering for Rand, only because he is Ron's son, but then, I want to be FAIR to him and show my utmost respect to all of his unique contributions for the cause of liberty.

My dream

I hope rand overturns his endorsement

This is disinfo.
Rand Paul is holding up foreign aid to pakistan and has our entire taliban foreign policy on its head over this doctor who is on jail.
he has stifled many bills the establishment has tried to walk through, under the radar. He has introduced sunset clauses to every bill written..

Rand has to play the game in the highest club in the land.
quit mocking him and join him you fools.

"OH NO! He has a SON?" Neoconservatives and Liberals EVERYWHERE!

Rand Paul 2016

Why would I join in a game I disagree with?? that sounds foolish to me.

I don't want to play the game, I don't want to win the game, I want to change the game.

Explain to me why we have to play the game. Explain how playing the game is going to help change it.

It seems to me that playing the game can only reinforce the game. It seems to me that reinforcing something you disagree with is the foolish play.

Thank you so much. This is exactly what needs to be said in every anti-Rand post.

If they are libertarian they won't.

Nor, if Dr Rand Paul is libertarian then he won't make attendees uncomfortable either.

Live and let live.

You can't get clean in a dirty bathtub.

Natural rights don't include

Natural rights don't include the 'right' to not feel uncomfortable, sorry.

People who support war, empire and the police state deserve to feel uncomfortable.

gold = money
war = health of the state
liberty = prosperity

Will Rand Paul make

Ron Paul supporters uncomfortable at the convention?

Good question!

I hope not

maybe during the gop comedy

maybe during the gop comedy hour they'll have romney up there with a rand puppet on his knee?

Benedict Arnold puppet

The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good things is my religion. Thomas Paine, Godfather of the American Revolution

I hope they're respectful

Booing Rand Paul -- or any of the speakers, unless they're blatantly breaking the rules -- would be counterproductive and rude. As satisfying as it would be to some to boo a perceived traitor, having self-control and picking and choosing ones' fights is far more admirable.

"Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." -- Thomas Paine

You may be correct about

You may be correct about Rand, but can you seriously expect us not to boo guys like Sununu?

Go ahead and downvote - hell I'll be the first

My alter ego wants to see his speech drowned out by chanting of Ron Paul! Ron Paul! Ron Paul! until Randy joins his father's revolution!

Rand Pauls support of Facists

might make him uncomfortable... but Ron Paul supporters will continue to support liberty and fight tyranny.

Beware those that

Divide and Distract.

Divide and distract from

Divide and distract from what, GOP unity? To hell with GOP unity. I, for one, AM NOT a "Republican", I am an American who votes. If a Republican candidate is worthy of my vote he'll get it. If not, oh well...

Rand's the one dividing and distracting. Since when was the R3volution about GOP unity? The R3volution is/was/should be about Liberty and standing up for principles, not this anyone but Obama crap. Standing up for principles is why we all got excited about Ron and why we'll NEVER get as excited about Rand.

Well Said.

Isn't coming down on Rand what we always say we are going to do??? You know... Hold their feet to the fire. When they make dumb choices we always say we will hold them accountable. Its sad to see so many aren't, but thanks for standing with liberty!

Rand Paul needs to

Come right out of the gate with the facts of the shenanigans the Republicans, under Romney, have pulled not only on Ron Paul, but also the state delegations and the coercion involved in this campaign. Bring out the fact that mathematically Romney cannot win the electoral college vote and remind the delegates that the purpose of the convention is to nominate a candidate who can win. Point out the lack of support Romney has, not only with the base but with the all too critical independents. He should say that at the time he endorsed Romney, he believed that Romney could win, then say that current circumstances clearly show that is no longer the case. Then make an impassioned appeal to the delegates that a vote for RP can win and that this election is way too important to lose because of the financial condition of the Republic. Point out that RP is the only one who understands the economics of the situation, he predicted it years ago and is the only candidate who understands how to solve it now. Of course he will need to bring his own wireless microphone to the podium as a reserve, because they will likely cut the audio feed on him.

Camera pans to hundreds of cheering RP delegates chanting "President Paul, President Paul"

The only boos would be coming from the few Romney delegates not in shock and they won't be loud enough to hear. Now that would be shock and awe!

Rand Paul isn't going to do

Rand Paul isn't going to do anything of the sort. Don't you understand? Getting his father elected was NEVER important to him. He didn't even give one measly speech to the crucial state conventions this year, even though most were held on weekends. Quit depending on Rand to do anything. He is NOT part of our movement.

Of course I understand, will Rand do whats right? No, I highly doubt it. Don't fault me from doing a little dreaming, ok?

I won't but these days I

I won't but these days I limit my dreams to what Ron might do on this issue.....and that's hard enough!

I'd boo him for sticking up

I'd boo him for sticking up and making excuses for Romney too!

And I bet Rand has enough hubris to lash out at those that boo, creating a further divide...
