Nonviolent Resistance

At its heart, this is an image showing the power of nonviolent resistance. The fact of the matter is, nonviolent techniques often, when used, achieve better quality and longer-lasting results then violent ones. They have been repeatedly used over the last century to topple deadly regimes.

They brought down the Berlin wall (its true) - toppled the authority of Russia, brought down an oppressive regime in Korea in the early 20th century that killed thousands, brought down Aparteid in South Africa, brought down Slobodan Milosevic, effectively stopped the Nazis in their country when used by the Danes, and ousted the British Empire from India.

History is written by dictators and conquerers; by madmen who have power, or want power, or admire power. It is not written from the perspective of the nonviolent. But it -works-, by God, does it work. Think of this: In Russia, a band was recently put in jail for four -years- for singing a less then one minute political anti-Putin song in church. Four YEARS. Anyone who thinks that nonviolent speech has -less- of an impact in a nation like Russia is out of there mind. It works -better- in nations such as Russia. In Russia, speech still has power, and so the powerful are afraid of it. In America, speech has no power, so the powerful ignore it.

The only thing holding up that politician are the mass numbers of people standing on that plank. There are no hidden supports, no secret structures, just millions upon millions of people. Were the Friends of Liberty willing to engage in organized nonviolent resistance ...which is not the same thing as mere activism, or mere pacifism ... willing to fight for liberty with the same energies that soldiers dedicate to war and politicians dedicate to deceiving us, we -could- change the minds of this country.

But that, unfortunately, is unlikely to happen.

at RNC/Romney dirty tactics. . . nonviolently during Tampa RNConvention???

I KNOW that we'll be having a grand time at P.A.U.L.Fest and RonPaulSunDome Rally, but I want to be nonviolently & graciously insistent on my support for all that Dr. RON Paul stands for. I REFUSE to be coerced into voting for more war-mongering tyrants.

Thats the goal. To see nothing but dead people casting votes and paid supporters posing for the cameras with fake signs like with Romney. By that time so few real people will support them that virtually no one will respect them or acknowledge their authority.

Fully Informed Juries

A good place to start, at the local level, is for jurors to undersand their duty as jurors.

"The primary function of the independent juror is not, as many think,
to dispense punishment to fellow citizens accused of breaking various laws, but rather to protect fellow citizens from the tyrannical abuses of power by government."

The Constitution guarantees you the right to trial by jury. This means that government must bring its case before a jury of The People if government wants to deprive any person of life, liberty, or property. Jurors can say no to government tyranny by refusing to convict." See: www.fija.org

Thanks for posting this - it so resonates with what I came to believe over the last ten years or so. Yes, I really think this is all it takes. Yet ... It isn't all that simple:
1) In reality the guy behind the lectern isn't alone - there's a bunch of other people who are in it with him (not to mention those above him) and they have ties (like family) to the people in the audience.
2) When the people at the back rows start to get off, the balance will change and the ones in the front-most rows aren't really likely to make it, at least not all of them.
So simple yet probably the most difficult thing in the world.

Investing in Corporatist Stock/Bonds(stop it)
Buying Gov't Bonds(stop it)
Keeping any Assets in Corporatist Banks (stop it)

Non-participation is the greatest power we have

Romney in 3rd does not teach the Republicans a lesson -- it gives the Democrats a monopoly position; what is the name of the competing 3rd party?

I think elections are fraud-on-display and ignorance on the part of the consumer -- as every vote goes to circumvent someone elses consumptive choices which forces them to unionize in retaliation to limit your consumptive choice (ad infinitum).

voters -- who will weigh the issues.

People vote from several different paradigms

---Meme Theory

---Bandwagon Effect

---Faulty Heuristics

---Religion / Ideology

---Issue-based

The above is the predominate way people elect candidates -- none of them will lead to a Gary Johnson election.

This is why the media (knowing the power of bandwagon and meme theory) keeps repeating RP is un-electable.

It doesn't matter -- You CANNOT give the power of your POS-Votes over to a Ballot-Box-Politician and expect self-rule in return.

It's mathematically, logically, philosophically impossible.

It also has never happened once in all human history.

The very act of voting and lobbying INCREASES the wealth of media, advertisers, and the power-size of gov't. At the very least you need more accountants to account for all that increase in election profits.

I can't be apart of this any more -- I feel like I'm talking to rocks out by the curb.

GJ has not been around long enough for me to trust his future voting record.

Besides, and this is the main point, we got into this mess because we abdicated to one-man (King or Queen), then again (Jesus - Mohammad - Moses - Buddha - Whomever), and now (in this age) we want to abdicate consumer-sovereignty over to Ron Paul?

Mises talked about how to maintain a free-society (once one was established), by consumer-sovereignty -- maybe that's the way you get into a free-society.

Anyway -- you've heard me rant on this before.

This is exactly right.

The Vietnam war ended because the troops just stopped fighting.

The only way we are going to end this current slavery we are experiencing is by losing faith in the system and stop participating.

It's like Alexander Haig is said to have remarked "Let them march all they want, as long as they continue to pay their taxes."

There is a good documentary that makes this case which I cannot find right now (I'll look it up and post back).

There is some natural correlation between public opinion and soldier opinion, but the real reason they stopped using ground forces is because troops refused orders on a massive scale, and the reason they stopped dropping bombs is because the target scouting personnel stopped providing intel. The war profiteers never have and never will care about the public.
