Ron Paul activists uneasily embrace GOP

After the New Hampshire primary, Grover Norquist made a bold prediction. “If Ron Paul speaks at the GOP convention (as he was not invited to do in 2008), the party will be united and Romney will win in November 2012,” the anti-tax crusader wrote in the Guardian. “If Ron Paul speaks only at his own rally in Tampa, Florida (as happened at the 2008 GOP convention in Minnesota) the party will not be at full strength.”

Republican convention planners decided to split the difference. Paul’s son, Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul, will have a prominent convention speaking slot. Delegates are also likely to see a video paying tribute to Paul, the 12-term libertarian-leaning congressman from Texas who received more than 2 million votes for president in the 2012 GOP primaries.

Romney is toast

Mitt Romney and the RNC stole the nomination from Dr. Paul using various ploys including but not limited to stuffing ballot boxes, changing local convention rules to marginalize Paul delegates, changing convention venues to marginalize Dr. Paul's delegates, throwing away or not counting Ron Paul delegate votes, beating up and injuring Ron Paul delegates, and voiding Ron Paul delegate seats in violation of party rules. How can a man, whose campaign staff acted in his name, be trusted to keep his word?

I want Dr. Paul to suggest a VP. A write in vote is no good without a VP included, but, rather than throw my vote away, I will write in Dr. Paul without a VP just to let the RNC know that I am tired of tweedle-dee versus tweedle-dumb elections. I want a clear choice for my vote.

I cannot bring myself to vote for an Establishment goon. Romney is dishonest with us now, with RNC approval and complicity? Wait until he's in the White House.

I wish I could agree that Romney is toast but he is running against a unpopular president who is preceding over a dismal economy! For this reason, he might win by default. I'm not happy about it.

I am PROUD to be an American who stands for our Republic.

I will NEVER cast a vote that would compromise my values. I will NEVER let the gop believe that they can compromise what the conservative base stands for in future elections.

Ron Paul 2012. By write-in, if necessary, 'cause it sure as hell ain't gonna be for obam-ney. gop can take a hike.
